Beautiful but horrible smell!

Absolutely beautiful design. When I got these, immediately upon opening the boxes, there it was - the smell of chemicals, formaldehyde, whatever it is - and it is absolutely horrible. Aired the set of two nightstands outside for over 24 hours, improved the smell, but the drawers lingered. After another month, took them outside again, left them out over 48 hours, gave them a vinegar wipe down, tried charcoal bags...and still nothing. Now the drawers smelled like "outside" mixed with chemicals. Had to return, unfortunately. Never buying painted MDF again.

Smells extremely toxic, apparently has cancer causing stuff that requires a prop 9 warning. Sturdy, despite drawers not having the most supporting brackets. I’ve had it put together for weeks, but there is still a strong chemical smell when I open the drawers. I had to air my entire house out with an attic fan and windows after I put it together.
