directions wrong

the directions were not correct on step 1 which made it very difficult to complete the last step

Poor quality and assembly instructions

Several pieces, poor instructions and flimsy wood. One of the drawers doesn’t align because of the construction, clearly it was not quality checked.

Not a cabinet maker

It is not a file cabinet! It says cabinet, a deceptive description. I thought i was buying a file cabinet. I would be nearly impossible for the average individual to put it together. The instructions are vague, non-descriptive and the parts and pieces are not marked. I'm an aircraft technician so I have an idea of the construction and as of things, but I was closed to boxing it up and sending it back. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Not Worth Money and Wasted Space

I wish I liked it as it looks great. It’s just full of issues like the drawers not opening without a huge tug. I mean a strong tug. The drawers are also much shorter than the main unit so about 6” is wasted. That makes the drawers pretty small. I wish I hadn’t spent so much money as now I have to find something else. The last straw was trying to open a drawer when my family was sleeping. The tugging and sudden opening sound woke them up. Terrible pice of furniture.

mislabeled part

Overall I like it, except the assembly was difficult as one of the parts was mis labeled

That it looked like the picture showed and the dimensions were accurate

For what it is it is worth the money. Totally out-of-the-way desk. I love it. Would buy again if needed it

Must be fairly intelligent to assemble!

I think the product is sturdy and true to the listing- however- the instructions were TERRIBLE!

Table is good

When the pieces are put together properly, the table itself is a 5/5. But the blueprint to set it up sucks.

Nice

A little challenging to put together but not too bad. It's sturdy and looks nice. I'd buy it again!

Great Desk Shelf at a Good Price, Tips in Review

I definitely love this shelf. It looks nice, it functions well, and it's just the thing I needed! It was fun to assemble (but I LIKE Ikea-type stuff), and it seems fairly sturdy thus far. Assembly tips: 1. Pay attention to the finished edge of the boards. The instructions that I received didn't mention which direction the finished sides/edges should point, so you'll need to definitely keep that in mind as you're putting it together. 2. The directions didn't always label which pieces go where. The picture showed the pieces you needed, and it was pretty easy to figure out which one it was, but it didn't expressly label them. 3. When you're attaching the drop-leaf, screw in the hinges before the arms. You can lay the shelf down on its back, and then use your leg or a few books to keep the leaf propped open and up while you get the screws in. Fold it up and down a few times BEFORE you attach the arms to make sure that it fits correctly in the shelf frame. I had to adjust the screws in the hinges a few times to make it sit just right, but once I got it, it folded up cleanly! THEN attach the arms and fold back and forth a few times to make sure that nothing's snagging and that it fits well in the frame. 4. When I was adjusting the leaf hinges, I ended up getting the darn thing stuck inside of the frame a few times because it was too offset. There's no knob to pull the leaf back out, but I used a short string to open it. I just threaded it through the little eye for the hook closure and then used that as a handle. After the leaf was well-adjusted, I didn't need any handle because it falls open with gravity once the hook is unlocked.5. There's a couple of drawer stops that you need to install as the last step before mounting. You need to partially insert the drawer, and then stick your hand inside of the drawer to screw the stops in. It may require small hands if you can't get the angle right. I personally had to use a single rubber glove to also screw the stopper in because it's a smooth, finished metal with no grip. The glove gave me the grip I needed and my hands were small enough to get inside.6. The mounting system is pretty neat. It has two cleats that you screw into the wall and then two pseudo hooks on the back of the shelf that you hang on to them. The hook part can be initially wobbly, but it has two screws on the inside of the shelf to adjust the tension for how well it holds onto the cleat. This is useful if you didn't mount the cleats quite level on the walls. I think it allows for about a half-inch wiggle room.Snags included, it only took me about an hour to assemble on my own with a single phillips screwdriver and a single glove (optional for the drawer stoppers). It would probably be quicker with two people so that one person could help balance the unit, but it's not necessary.

Small compact desk.

Instructions a little difficult but able to get out together. Great for dorms or other small rooms. Perfect for retirement living.

Smaller than expected

I originally purchased this for myself and after my husband put it together, we realized how small it was. I have since given it to my 9 yo and he loves it.

Small space saver

We used this as a floating nightstand in my teenage son's room. His bed has drawers underneath making it impossible to use a regular nightstand. This fits the bill. I like that if it's messy I can just close it. He likes that he can get to all the drawers around his bed. It was a bit difficult to put together but overall pleased with this purchase.

Can do, even without instructions being included

Would have given 5 stars across the board, but the assembly instructions were not included. Luckily it was easy to figure out (thank you photos) and put together. Goddaughter loves it and that's what matters.

This does NOT come assembled

I previously bought a bigger wall drop down desk for my daughter and I didn't have to assemble it. This came completely disassembled! I assumed and didn't read if it needed assembly, so that may be on me. It didn't have the greatest instructions anyway, (and I have a lot of assembly experience). Also, my husband and I had to shim the rear brackets as the hooks didn't reach them. Yes, we had to remove and do all over again... After it was all said and done, I felt it was very overpriced for the work and time I had to put in, and the fact that the top screws didn't have caps was a sloppy finish in my opinion (this was my biggest peeve). Otherwise, it's of pretty good quality, sturdy (if installed correctly, and the hinges for the drop down top are strong. It fits well I my spot and serves well for my purpose. I contacted the company about the problems.

Difficult to put together- I need to hire someone.

I like the looks of it, but unfortunately I am not able to put it together myself. Very difficult and the instructions are too vague.

Assembly Instructions

assembly instructions are at an illegible small scale - impossible to determine the orientation of the component parts for attachment
