This is less than advertised. The ads say that it is accurate to 1/4 inch, but don't tell you that that level of accuracy is only available in metric mode. When in the U.S. standard lengths mode, it is actually only good to plus or minus one inch. That's just not good enough for most remodeling work.

Hard to read, a lighted reading would be beneficial

Arrived within a few days. Packaging was adequate to prevent any damage during shipment. Instructions on how to use could be more clear. Must hold the pen very still to get reading. The reading is hard to read (very faint). A lit measurement would have been helpful in the design of this measuring pen. I will order something else, although the size of this one is convenient, if only it were more accurate.

Hard to see readouts when and if it works, and forget it on a windy day.

Can't mark the first position with the laser

When you start recording the distance it records the first position and engages the laser. You need it to engage the laser before it marks the spot so you can aim it.

This item is very accurate. I didn't believe it was so accurate until I test it on short distance with a 15 cm school ruler, with just 3 mm off, the same thing with long distances.

I was very excited to put the batteries in right out of the box and use it, but it just would not function after several attempts. I was very disappointed having used wen products in the past, what a cheap piece of junk. I will be returning it soon!
