Meets some needs

My Senegal parrot has multiple cages, for different purposes. I bought this one to take her outside each day to hang on a hook on the back deck for a few hours. I chose it because it is lightweight, big enough, has a handle on top and resembles my old Hoei cage. It is not very sturdy though, and the whole top comes off fairly easily, which can be catastrophic. I will search for a way to lock it down. (Haven’t had it long enough to explore the possibilities.)The cage wire isn’t very thick, which I suppose is a trade off, because it is very light. I don’t think they make Hoei cages anymore. The Hoei is definitely sturdier, but has gradually deteriorated after 25 years of use.

Bird cage for two

This size cage seems to be big enough for my two budgies and all their toys. The extra door is wider which helps when cleaning or moving things around inside.

Update post: this is a nice cage, yes, perfect for a parakeet or a few finches; however after using new feeders etc., I noted that this cage makes it hard to fit standard feeders, waterers for parakeets. Mostly, the cage slats are all VERTICAL, instead of HORIZONTAL, making the nice waterer we have, useless, and it falls down all the time. The old waterer also doesn’t fit, as it has a horizontal slat type fitting. Most cages have horizontal slats. We’ve had to purchase SCEW IN ONLY type stuff. Thankfully, screw in stuff exists readily for birds. So, I love this cage, and the price, just be aware, you will need screw in type accessories for your birds. I would say two parakeets may crowd this cage; it’s made for one, or a few finches.

Perfect for a parakeet or two!

I love this cage! It’s perfect for my parakeet; would fit two parakeets or several finches. It’s an upgrade from the small blue one I had for him. Don’t bother with that small cage, as they have no room to fly around. This is perfect! Great price!

Bad Service

This is a very roomy cage and a good price. The base of our cage was badly cracked when we received it. We called bird.com and kept being told that they would contact the manufacturer to replace it. The operators told me they would call me back with an update before the end of the business day ended, which never happened. I finally called the shipper myself after 2 weeks of getting the run around and was told that bird.com never contacted them about the situation. I will not buy from bird.com again. Their prices are good and most of the customer service reps were friendly, but no one followed through with what they promised.
