While it was easy to install - it was terrible to use, it actually flipped out of my hand and hit my leg! It is awkward and stiff. Not worth the money, time or effort.

I've had this for about a month. It mounts easily and comes with all the hardware needed. It's just a little cumbersome to extend and retract but once extended, it locks in place. Bottomline, it keeps my grandson out of an area I don't want him in!

Definitely not for pets

All the tension is loaded in the top edge, so in spite of how hard it is to get it open or closed, the bottom is so slack and floppy that, even mounted flush to the floor a cat or smallish dog could very easily slip right under it. If you have a bigger dog they could just hop over..? I don't know what pets this would work for. Returning

The only issue with the gate is you cannot open/close it with one hand. It takes 2 hands to open or close the gate. We are using it for our destructive puppy.

I had a gate already for my grand baby and dog and it was fine but after getting a puppy, and was squeezing through it, I got this one. This one is perfect because the puppy can't get through it. It's retractable too.

I bought this after we "inherited" a dog thinking it was just the right gate for our needs. I really liked that it was retractable and easy to install. It seemed to be very well constructed and fairly durable. However, after installing it, we found it was a major pain to operate especially if you have to carry something through the gate. That was pretty much impossible because of how difficult it was to operate the gate lock knob while trying to latch the gate on the other side of the hallway. After a day of trying to give it a chance I took it down and returned it to the store. I'm sure it will work fine for some people but was not a winner in our house.

Super hard to pull across. You need both hands and a lot of strength. No good for when you have a little one in your hands. Definitely returning

Good quality

Bought two of these for the house. I like them but wish you could adjust the tension on them. My wife has arthritis in her hands and is hard to use them.

It immediately broke during set up. It says to pull up on the main part to ensure it latched in correctly but the whole thing came apart and the spring unwound. So now it won’t retract properly, not possible to fix either. Poorly engineered and executed.

This gate is unusable

We bought this as a dog gate. Unfortunately, It has so much tension built into it it’s my kids can’t close it. It’s a pretty terrible design. A worthless piece of junk.

Not for a large doorway.

My doorway is 49 inches wide and having to hold the release button on one side and engage the screen on the other side is challenging with the tension on the being so strong. Not short old people friendly.

[Rewarded Review] Great baby gate for outdoors

Our 2 year old is now opening doors and making her way outside, so in addition to the two gates we have indoors, we needed another for our deck staircase. I really liked this gate because it wont rust. We tried a metal indoor gate on our outdoor steps and it started to rust within a week or so. We wont have that problem with this gate.

We haven’t used this a ton yet so I can’t speak to longevity, but I love the design. We have a larger opening between our living room and kitchen and had a tension based gate with my first little; the frame was a constant trip hazard and the tension pieces tore up the drywall. This gate is not only frameless on top and bottom, but screws into the wall which I absolutely love. AND it fits our wider doorway!!

If you want a gate that when not needed is away and out of site this is the gate you need. Super great for stairs so you can unhook and it will roll away. My little one has not figured out how to unhook it. It also has guards so you don’t have to worry about little hands getting pinched.

This gate has made our lives so much easier! It is great for outside patios and can be used on very wide entry ways! It is easy to install and clean and I love that it has an auto locking feature when closed so it doesn’t keep stretching out if our baby pushes on it.

I recently received the Thruway 52W series baby hate and I love it. It was so simple to install and can be easily removed if needed. It is adjustable so it will work in many different areas. It is easy to clean if needed and can be easily stored when not in use.

Great gate! Have this to keep our kids and dogs out of the kitchen. It is very sturdy and was easy to put up. Im glad the dogs cant stick their heads through it. I feel that this is a great gate and will be up for years to come.

Great gate option that allows for sectioning off areas without the same bulky apparatus as other gate options. Not easy for my toddler to open on their own which is the point! Works well for keeping kids out of trouble.
