We give each of our Roomba's a VERY good round of applause when they scurry smartly learning the areas to clean with 4 kids, 5 cats and 1 dog! This on

We give each of our Roomba's a VERY good round of applause when they scurry smartly learning the areas to clean with 4 kids, 5 cats and 1 dog! This one we named Flora Cleana! The refurbished option was great for saving $ and having less dust, dirt and hair around makes this Mama VERY happy! Excellent model and great buy! (I bought 2!)

iRobot's Roomba J7 Ready to Rumble (and Stumble)

We picked up this iRobot Roomba because Sam's has the best prices in the world. The reviews pre-purchase were pretty solid. We did not get one with an automatic Dust Bin emptier because it doubles the unit cost and adds paper bags that you have to buy, throw away and replace $$.

The worst

This is my second rumba . Old model amazing ! Bought a new because the other one stopped working after 8 yrs if not longer . Definitely got my money’s worth This rumba has a an app that you have to use - pretty much the only way you can use it . If you want something to command on the machine itself this is not for you . It is the most frustrating vacuum ! And it does not suck up well on wood floors . MOST IMPORTANTLY you can not return it - to pc Richard- they refer you to rumba and rumba customer service told me and “ I quote “ you can’t return it just because you don’t like it “ they wanted to send it out for repair - it just poor functioning not a specific repair .

Could be greatly improved

The battery never lasts enough to do a total home cleaning and I live in a very modest 1600sq foot house. You also need to have the lights on in all the rooms while it works so that drives up your electricity costs because it takes very inefficient paths to get the cleaning done. its dust bin is incredibly small as well so you will have to babysit it to make sure it's still sucking up dirt and dust. You can turn the feature off to stop when its dust bin is full, but what use is that? The vacuum would just be essentially leaving dirt and dust in the carpets. I was trying to buy something that was headquartered in the USA, but sadly this has let me down compared to the other brand I had before this unit.

Ruby2 and Ruby3 at Work

I loved Ruby2 so much that I got a Ruby3 for the lower level. These are game changers! Ruby1 was relegated to the RV garage. She doesn't have the self emptying feature. So convenient to schedule the other 2, and I don't have to babysit them. I have a 5400 sq. ft. home, so these gals really help out. They really keep the dust under control. So far I am beyond delighted with their performance. I've only had them a short time, so hopefully I will continue to be thrilled.

Works OK

I use this vacuum to clean a 25 by 25 foot room. The floor is tile, with a .2 inch grout gap between tiles.

It doesn't do what us supposed to do

I bought this product a few years ago. I bought this specifically because it was supposed to avoid "obstacles" and pet messes. It never has avoided the messes. It goes through it causing me more cleaning than need be. I had moved recently making my elder cat bot use her box, and at least once a week, I have to thoroughly clean the robot and shampoo the carpets and clean the floors throughout the house since I don't notice until I get home after work.

Should come with complimentary ear plugs at a bare minimum

If you are deaf and want a vacuum that is so loud it will shake the walls of your house to alert you when it empties itself, then this is the product for you! If you are okay with your roommates resenting you and starting a group chat to talk about you behind your back because they hate you for buying this vacuum this is the product for you!

We love this product

This is a great product. It's very versatile letting you clean your entire home or you can clean one room or multiple rooms at a time. The phone app let's you select what rooms you want to clean. You can monitor its progress. You are alerted when the cleaning is done. You can go back and look at the history of your cleaning. There have been several times where it picked up something like a lego piece, it shut down, and sent an alert about it so the lego piece could be removed. I have not really found anything negative about this product.

Avoids the pet messes

I had a Roomba before but with pets who sometimes left deposits on the floor, I got tired of taking the vacuum apart to clean it. I bought this one because it would avoid those deposits. I find it is quieter while vacuuming. I don't think it cleans as well. I find there are crumbs or dirt where the floor goes from hardwood to area carpet. Overall it does well. I have not had to take it apart except when it vacuumed up a ribbon. It takes pictures as it vacuums as proof that it did it. It is very noisy when it empties its bin but that is only a minute.

Disappointing battery life

Cleans pretty well, but the battery life is really disappointing for such an expensive vacuum. Our house has floors that are 800 sq. ft. and it can't complete a full cleaning pass on a single charge (particularly if you tell it to do 2 passes). I have a Tenergy replacement battery in my Roomba 530 and it lasts for much much longer (it can do 2 passes with battery to spare).

Good value for money

For the background, my old Neato D4 machine with a lidar navigation started to show its age when it constantly got stuck under the tables, not charging by itself, disconnecting from WIFI from time to time, keep bumping and moving furnitures so I decided to upgrade it to this Roomba J7. I wanted something that just use camera instead because lidar sensors itself alone does not work too well for me.

Save your money

Purchased this vacuum just over a month ago and returned today. This was our first robot vacuum and I was disappointed based on the price point. Initial set up was easy, but the mapping functionality never worked quite right. We have a 1,700 sq ft bungalow, and it never mapped the entire place properly (couldn’t figure out that hallways connected, wouldn’t enter certain rooms). We tried countless mapping runs, deleted maps, etc. with no luck. Often times we would receive an error message that the map couldn’t be updated after it cleaned.

I LOVE this Vacuum (YOU will to).

This product works AWESOME, I have had products like this (Sam###g) and they worked, BUT they never avoided objects (we had a dog that was getting up in age and occasionally had accidents in the house🥴 😵‍💫 what a mess) those could not be controlled anything like this or go to a specific area you need to clean and finds the docking station every time and empties into the storage bag.

After a year of use I give it a hearty thumbs up.

I use the j7 in combination with a Brava Jet m6. They have done a fantastic job. The j7 just works the way it supposed to. The mapping feature allows it to efficiently vacuum any space. No more random bumping around. It's nice to program the whole house or just individual rooms and it just does what it's told to do. And it does it well. While it's not absolutely perfect it has saved many hours of manual labor and in the end my home is probably cleaner than it would have been if I was doing all the vacuuming. The only real problem I've had is it twice completely lost all scheduled programs. It only took a few minutes to recreate the programs but even contacting iRobot produced no reason as to why the programs were lost. It will get tangled on shoelaces in a heartbeat. It doesn't get completely into every last nook and cranny and of course it doesn't do baseboards, so every few months I still have to follow up with a regular vacuum. Overall though I'd say it gets just about 99% percent of the house vacuumed very well. I only have a few items on my wishlist to make it better. 1. Quit constantly asking me about clean zone suggestions. If I want a clean zone, I'll create it myself. 2. Let me quickly select a room for vacuuming without setting up a favorite. Just give me a simple list of rooms and let me select one to vacuum right now. I don't want a lengthy list of favorites for every conceivable room combination. 3. Give me a way to delay or pause a scheduled cleaning without cancelling the cleaning altogether. 4. Let me select the order of rooms to be vacuumed. The order is currently random and is never the same. At least let me first select the rooms that will be mopped so that the Brava jet can go ahead and do its job. As it is, on the days that the whole house is vacuumed and just the kitchen is mopped, the kitchen must sit prepped half the day waiting the the vacuum to completely finish its entire schedule.

Good enough!

It's a good little machine, but the suction isn't stellar. Even the one of the Self-Empty base isn't very good. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side.

My 2nd Roomba. Vast improvement

I purchased my 1st I Robot in 2016. I was amazed how well that one worked but technology has come a long way and with the front facing camera this one outshines the old in every way. Only downfall is it seems to need light to work properly so must be scheduled in day or with lights on. Every other aspect has improved. It no longer will run over cords and get them stuck in its rollers, it no longer needs lighthouses that takes batteries. It no longer runs over cat hairballs and spreads the mess all over the area it is cleaning. It now maps your home and you can then put virtual walls on your map and it follows your instructions. The front camera will and does go around hairballs as I have a Maine coon cat that sheds and is very long haired therefor hairballs are frequent. It will even take a photo of obstacles that it doesn't recognize and sends to your cell asking to ignore or a temporary obstacle. It also will just do the rooms you choose or do heavy traffic areas twice if you set that room for two times. It doesn't run out of charge before job is done as it will return to base recharge and continue where it left off. Even the pattern is back and forth across a room instead of the zigzag pattern of my older one. so far an improvement in every way. Quieter as well and it shut down the vacuum and brushes as it returns to base or goes to next scheduled room. No regrets or complaints so far, Awesome product!!

The jury is still out

Significant improvements from the i7, still not sure if we'll keep it past the 60 day trial period.
