This unit is almost perfect. The hang up is just that. I ordered two units but one's file drawer sticks every time and I haven't discovered why.

I use this cart to store hats, gloves, scarves and other outside apparel that will fit. I used to use it for arts and crafts but needed it to store clothing and easy to roll in and out of the closet

I bought two of these carts. Would love them if they had stoppers so the drawer doesn't fall out when you pull it too far. For $100 I would have expected a stopper to ensure that you could pull the drawers out without them coming off the tracks. I would return them if it wasn't such a hassle and cost. Unfortunate purchase for that cost.

I was able to easily assemble this cart, with one exception. There are acorn nuts for the ends of the brackets. They are in pairs. One bracket of one pair was not threaded correctly, and it's not possible to get the nut, or another nut I had, on it to secure it. But, since they are in pairs, I assume the nut on the other bracket will hold. I'm using it in my shed to hold garden gloves, clippers, trowels, etc. It's got plenty of capacity, and surely could hold heavier items with no problem. I like that there are locks on one set of wheels. My only complaint about the design is that there are no "stops" on the drawers. If it was up against a wall, I guess that wouldn't be an issue, but my cart is not. Therefore, it's super easy to push the drawers out the back end of the cart -also, they slide very easily, and can easily be pulled all the way out. My solution was to put tiny bungee cords across the back of each drawer to keep it from falling out.

Not worth the price

Easy to put together. Looks nice but a couple of the top of the nut bolts broke off. There should also be stoppers for the drawers if you don’t have it up against the wall the drawer can fall out the other side. Had I known the quality wasn’t what I was expecting, I would have bought a plastic cart.

Safeco black mesh cart w/1-file drawer and 2 smaller drawers: I read many reviews for this and similar products before buying. Easy to assemble even for 73-year-old me. It's even better than I expected, nice smooth mesh, easy slide drawers. I took advice from another reviewer and used 3 small bungee cords to prevent drawers sliding out the back, perfect solution! Was worried about the file drawer not properly holding hanging file folders because of some other reviews but although I can see what they mean, mine works fine for me (letter-size hanging files). I actually like that the files don't slip and slide too easily. Some people had asked if drawers can change position and YES, file drawer can be at bottom (my preferred position because of the weight of the files), in the middle, or on top. I had to call to ask one question: they don't tell you in the instructions that you need a rubber hammer (or something similar) to force the casters all the way down into the holes (2 locking casters go on front legs, regular casters on back legs). Unless you pound them down flush, the casters will be useless. Would definitely buy again. I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you Safeco and Home Essentials Direct!

Not the sturdiest design. I don't like how there is no catch on either side of the "drawer" so it can fall off the track entirely. For the price, I would have expected a little more well made. I wouldn't recommend this item.

Off the glide and on to the floor!

Really like the style and design but am disappointed that there are no stops on either side of the drawers that prevent the file baskets from sliding all the way through and on to the floor. Unless parked against a wall, this is a nuisance that lacks logic.

Just what I needed!

Easy to assemble... except one of the cover “nuts” was mangled and unusable. It would be nice if they included a couple extra for this contingency. It works well and meets my need. Plus it looks great!

Drawers don't have a stop

I love this product with one very important exception: If you are pulling the drawer out, there is no stop to prevent it from pulling all the way out, and the same goes with when you're pushing it in, it will keep going through the back.

Poor Design

I do not understand the good reviews on this product. As another poster stated, the mesh on the side of the rails catch on the metal hooks of the hanging folders. As a consequence, the hanging folders do not slide and/or fall off the rails. I tried three different brands of hanging folders and had the same poor result. It might be acceptable for other applications but it does not work for hanging folders.

This is great for storing paperwork and bills in my home office. It is exactly what I needed. It is very sturdy. The downsides are the wheels don't roll well when you put a lot into it but I don't need it for rolling purposes. Also, the drawers do not have anything behind them to keep them from falling out the back, but I have mine against the wall so this is not an issue for me.

Cart it cabinet?

This cart is a great alternative to a cabinet or other office paper storage/ organizing. Sturdy, compact, stylish. The only draw back is there is no hinge or stopper to keep the drawer from going thru the other side: it slides in/ out from either side. The only way to create a stop position us to place against a wall or consciously slide carefully not to shove straight through and out the other side.

Black Mesh 4-drawer Cart

I love these 4-drawer carts by Safco. One was damaged upon arrival but Overstock replaced it. The one that was damaged was caused from packaging by manufacturer and not Overstock's fault. The two that I have work really well except for one that the drawer doesn't glide so well. Otherwise, these are awesome. I wish I had an entire wall of them with a wooden shelf above (future wishes). These are not really "file" but rather storage drawers. By calling them a "file" is a bit misleading. But I'm a happy customer nonetheless.
