Arrived. Beautiful DO. Nice size. Chipped lid. Unhappy about that but really needed to use this pan. Not returning. Won’t buy again. I have Le Creuset. 7 years old. Zero chips. I do not recommend
Excellent quality cookware
I love everything about this. The color is amazing and the weight is heavy duty, yet it cleans up perfectly. I have been using it to make sourdough and it has turned out with some of my best loaves!!
Very happy with purchase
I had been looking at some more expensive options but ultimately picked this and am so glad I did! It has a hefty weight to it but is not too heavy for me to manage. Foods brown beautifully, and it cleans up like a dream!
Best little dutch oven
I have made chili and beef stew and hamburger cheese dip. All were easy cleanup. Food was evenly cooked. Oh and it makes the best pot roast.
Too Heavy - Had To Return
We had to return this 5.5 qt casserole immediately. It was just too heavy.
I received this as a Christmas gift years ago. Mine is orange. I wanted one so badly and I am so happy I got this. I love it so much. It is easy to clean, easy to cook in, goes from stove top to oven with no issue. I often just throw it in the fridge if there are any leftover in it. Yes, its heavy. The elderly people in my family can't lift and maneuver this easily. If you are not careful, it will definitely cause an injury or damage. ITS HEAVY!
Perfect gift
Bought to replace a Rachel Ray Dutch oven that the enamel began to prematurely peel, and in doing so allowed the cast iron underneath to rust, after only a couple of years of service. (Seriously, my mom had the same Dutch oven for my entire life.....and then my sister put it into service!) So, in an effort to not make the same mistake twice, chose Cuisinart based solely on reputation, and very glad I spent a few more dollars in doing so. Of course, only time will tell in regards to longevity, but I have every confidence it will last for years to come. Well made, beautifully crafted - colour/design, and I suppose for as heavy as it is, it's well balanced(?) All in all, completely satisfied with this purchase!
Pretty and functional!
This pot is so much more than a casserole. It does everything! Can be used on the stove top and in the oven. I’ve found many delicious one-pot recipes for enameled cast iron pots. An example of its versatility: makes a scrumptious pot roast, bakes beautiful bread, and stir-fries an amazing teriyaki chicken dish. Pot is easy and quick to clean. This pot may very well replace my slow cooker. The food tastes so much better in the cast iron pot! One challenge is the weight of the pot and lid—It is quite heavy. But this 61 year old is going to continue to use my Cuisinart Casserole—Lifting weight is healthy for my bones! I compared the Cuisinart with other brands—most cost over $400. I’m VERY PLEASED with the quality of the Cuisinart. There was one brand that cost less than Cuisinart, but didn’t offer an oval shaped casserole. Oval shape was important to me to accommodate a chuck roast. At first I considered this purchase to be a bit frivolous. I now consider this pot to be a kitchen essential. (I’m thinking it will replace my slow cooker. Food cooked in the casserole tastes so much better than when cooked in the slow cooker!) The blue color is lovely.
Great color sad product
Disappointed. The Dutch oven is an absolute perfect size. The color is lovely. However I'm super disappointed! The lid does not fit the base and it does not create an airtight seal it allows steam to escape it kind of defeats the purpose of having a Dutch oven. When I registered my product I emailed Cuisinart and have not heard anything back that was weeks ago. I love the weight of this item and perhaps if it had a correctly fitting lid I might feel differently however it just wobbles I've tried to turn it from one side to the other and it doesn't make a difference.
5 Stars
I love this piece of cookware. They list this as a casserole, but it is certainly a Dutch oven. Coming very close to the quality of Le Cruset at a much lower price point. The quality is exceptional and the weight is significant. The inside is beautifully enameled. Cared for properly, this is an item that could be handed down for generations. I certainly recommend it to equip any kitchen and satisfy even the most discerning culinary artist.
