I would prefer a heavier bowl. Also the water level control nut is elegant but tends to not stay put so needs to be checked and adjusted often.

It doesnt stop the water, it just slows it down. This causes it to slowly overflow over time

I love this auto waterer, I use it in our cat sanctuary and it is perfect. One of my top 10 things that I'm absolutely head over heels with in my lifetime.

Good idea, flawed design

I've used this for the last four years or so - whenever I have to go out of town for an extended period, I left it and an automatic feeder out for the cats to stay hydrated and fed. The biggest problem is that the water's "full" level is adjusted by a loosening/tightening a valve that is also at the point the hose is twisted on. Normally, this has been fine, as I've let it fill before leaving to make sure the valve was at the right level. But this last time I left home, for some reason, it had stopped the hissing of it filling, and I thought it was at a good level. I came home to a flooded kitchen and living room a week later. I don't understand why they would make the valve that adjustable and so easy to mess up.

Doesn’t work

The bowl overflows and doesn’t shut off. Their old version worked so well, I’m not sure why they changed the design.

Game changer

Love this watering system! Easy to set up and now I’m not hand filling water bowls anymore. Don’t know what I didn’t do this sooner.

Almost perfect

This auto fill bowl worked well while it lasted. I did have to use a pressure regulator on the faucet. Our high water pressure allowed the bowl to overfill and flood the kennel. The pressure reducer corrected that problem. It was easy to clean and quick to refill. It was not a good fit for our 8 month old puppy. It was far to fascinating to play with and she tore it apart and it caused a mess. This was her first introduction to an automatic water system. The construction of the bowl was nice and had she not seen it as a toy, I believe I would be perfectly happy with it. The only improvement I can see would be manufacturing it to allow it to be affixed to a fence or other object. Not just sitting freely on the ground.

Doesn't work well

It either is constantly stuck and overflowing and floods your back yard. Or it's stuck shut and your dogs have no water. Going on a month and it has never not done one or the other when we got home.

Great waterer

This is the second one I have gotten. I absolutely love this and it is perfect for my very large dogs while they are outside!
