This breville coffee grinder will be my second one! I still have the first one and still working great after 7 years with minimal maintenance!!

Perfect Entry Level Grinder for the Burgeoning at Home Barista

I ran into trouble with my old grinders' inability to produce a fine enough grind for an espresso. The Breville is perfect for this and I love the digital adjustability of the grind time, # of shots, and grind setting.

What’s with the power cord?

If I could give 4.5 I would. I own several Breville appliances and love them all. This is no exception. However, the absurdly short power cord takes .5 stars away. Reading the reviews, I saw comments regarding the short cord. I didn’t think it would be a problem as I placed it directly in front of an outlet. Too short. I have it plugged into an extension cord to reach the outlet which is 14 inches away (and has a four slot Breville toaster plugged in easily). Not sure what they were thinking when they designed this ridiculous cord.

Grinder

This is the second one I’ve purchased. For my relatively moderate use and budget it has been a great little machine. Add to that a great company to deal with and it’s a win win. Whole Latte love is terrific.

Best coffee grinder we've had

Freshly ground coffee makes a huge difference to the taste of an espresso or moka pot coffee. This one goes perfectly with the Breville Bambino and makes getting the right dose easy.

[Rewarded Review] Beware! CHEAP QUALITY JUNK!

I had the same experience as many of the negative reviews. My grinder only lasted 3 months until it gave out. Here are some of my experiences:

Works ok for some beans, but not for most.

Works well with Rayley’s brand beans, but not with many artisan roasters’ beans. Struggles to get through, or sometimes you can just hear the gears skipping. I took apart and cleaned it, but no improvement. Worthless for anything finer than drip coffee. I have to buy a different one now for espresso. Would not buy again.

A quality grinder at a reasonable pricepoint

Very happy with the smart grinder pro. Delivers a very consistent grind. The fineness dial can seem a bit imprecise at first, but you just have to feel for when it clicks. It's subtle. But a great grinder, I'm very happy with mine.

Inconsistent

It grind so inconsistent no matter the settings. I had this grinder for a while now it became an inconvenience. Grinding 18g sometimes comes out 16g-19g. I’m always rushing In the morning and this takes a lot of my time trying to get the gram out.

Works Well Until It Doesn't

Like others have mentioned, the 'grind time' setting feels arbitrary and inaccurate and I rarely ever got consistent output with my saved settings on the exact same beans. However, it more or less got the job done and I do appreciate the convenience of grinding directly into the portafilter basket and overall felt it was a smooth enough process.
