Brita Elite blue replacement filter

We go through a lot of water here and we were going through a lot of the regular white filters. One every 3 weeks I had to replace them. I thought I would try the blue one same money less filters less time changing. Well sorry about my luck the one I bought didn't work. In fact it made the water taste worse. Thank goodness I had a white one left in my pantry. I don't know if I just got the Bad Apple in the bunch or are they all like this? I'm uncertain if I will buy Rita Elite replacement filter, blue.

Great filter at an affordable price.

My water filter needed replacement and this Brita filter was the perfect replacement. You'd be surprised by the quality of the filtered water after replacing the old. Also the in-store delivery and pickup was earlier than expected and smooth.

3 weeks in the pitcher, 100 years in the landfill

These filters do improve the flavor of the water at first but I have three legitimate complaints: 1. With the Los Angeles County tap water, this filter lasts my family of two only three weeks before the filter loses effectiveness. 2. These are now 5 to 6 bucks a piece, that is a high price for a three week filter. 3. The thick plastic filter goes into the landfill. The white plastic is very durable and will likely take hundreds of years to break down under normal conditions. I urge Brita to invent a more environmentally friendly product. This plastic waste is really untenable.

This will change your life.

Wow, Amazing product!!, It cleans the water so clean that you can see through it. Taste is like nothing, no flavor or lingering burn or aftertaste. Toothpaste really really foams up BIG time when using this clear, clean, flavorless liquid produced by this product. Washing your eyes doesn't even burn or sting anymore. However, hand washing seems less effective even though there are more bubbles and foam; there just isn't that fresh, pinkish glow on the backs of the hands anymore.

Only bought these because other brands were sold out

These Brita filters are some of the worst on the market. I only got these because I read a misleading professional review (by the way, never trust professional reviewers) and because other brands were sold out. The capacity of these filters is 40 gallons. Brita claims that's two months. I think 1 month is more realistic. These filters don't filter out nearly as many contaminants as other brands. Lead, which is probably most people's top concern, isn't on the list. These don't fit Brita filters too well. They tend to fall out while pouring, and probably don't form a very tight seal. These filters often add carbon dust to the water. Brita says that rinsing the filters (dumping out the first two pitchers' worth of water) should fix the issue, but for about 50% of these filters, I've found that they keep adding carbon dust. Definitely go with a different brand if they're in stock.
