I got this one based on the reviews (the one at Sam's had very poor reviews). Since I didn't get the other one, I can't compare the two. This one is not too easy to roll up / out. Was fairly easy to assemble though. No major leaks, just prefer the less expensive wall mounts I got

I needed to replace an old rusty hose hanger, the basic type. I tried for something that looks better with this. I figured all nail holes in the back fro mounting would be that same and I could just use the mason nails that were already there. It turns out not to be the case. I have to drill out a new hole. Still looks nice.

Great reel, easily handles 100' of hose. I've had two of these installed on my siding for several years now. The black will fade a little bit exposed to sun and weather, but other than that they have functioned perfectly fine. And it's a little more decorative than the plastic ones. I used three 2" exterior screws through siding to install.

I purchased this on sale but would have to say even at full price it's a great buy. Unlike the majority if hose hanging solutions this one has character and style befitting older homes like mine and the fact it is made from aluminium says it not only has the extra attention to detail/design/quality that went into items of a now mostly by gone era but it will last. Unlike today's plastic and drab products that deteriorate withing a couple short years.

Great Purchase

This replaced an old, rusty hose hanger that was on the house from the previous owner. What an improvement. I was surprised how light weight it is, because it looks heavy. I lightly spay painted the black to match the color of other outside items and it looks great. It is easy to wind and unwind the hose.and keeps it neat. Fortunately, before I bought it, I had read reviews that said you needed to buy screws for it, which I did. It looks great and I'm sure will last many years.

So I previously bought a different brand, it was cast iron and a smaller version of this one and somehow I wasn't convinced. Took it back and purchased this one. I installed it in the garage, made sure to install thru a stud with two bolt screws. Wow, this is solid now, looks great and very functional, no more messy hose thrown on the garage floor. Great value for the money. Oh and it holds a 125ft hose it says, mine is only 75ft and there's room to spare.
