After removing the clear film on the back I did not feel any adhesive but it did not seem to make sense to totally remove the backing. I already had double sided carpet tape on the stairs and used this to install. They are staying put. They are thin but you can't beat the price.

Good idea. Bad quality.

Extremely hard to get the protective backer off. I ruined several pieces trying to separate the backer from the sticker. There's no pull tab and it's an extremely thin barrier. Additionally, whatever glue they use is terrible and has almost no tackiness. I had to run a very heavy object over it and even then several of them refused to stick. If they haven't stuck by tomorrow morning, then I'm pulling them all up and returning them.

Stylish, easy and good value

I wanted to spruce up the stairwell to the back garden, its not really in view so it had been forgotten. The carpet treads were perfect. It’s not pile carpet, it’s like a compact felt type fabric, but seems durable. Love the relief pattern. Easy to cut to size. I had painted the stairs a few days before sticking them down, there is no getting them up now without taking some paint with it, I dare say this would happen on any painted steps, but perhaps its because they were only recently painted and not set hard fully? But It doesn’t matter for my purpose, I’d rather they stuck than slipped. Great revamp for under £40!

Great product, soft on feet, reduces noise, easy to install, excellent product if you are considering improving safety going up and down stairs. Have not washed yet so I may add comment once I throw in the wash.

Good quality product.

I think this is good quality for the money. The peel and stick is quite sticky and the thick backing I think makes very food quality product. Next time I would get one without a raised design as it makes vacuuming the lower part of the design I bit difficult to vacuum.

So easy to lay

Bought these stair mats for our aging dog with arthritis. Soft under foot and laid them in half an hour. Have 13 stairs that turn a corner so used the extra to fill in the bigger stairs. Cuts really easy with scissors and stays exactly where you lay them. Much cheaper option than stair carpet. Looks and works a treat.

Get what pay for

The size fit exactly to our steps and for short term solution is very economical. They are thin but sturdy and carpet tape needed. We used them to cover existing carpet. Black is a funny colour and does show up dirt but also coming down the stairs is not easy to distinguish the steps. Something to bear in mind. Cheap acceptable alternative to relaying entire carpet over 15 steps.

Just what we wanted

I’m quite amazed that they stay in place but they do…. We have running up and down the stairs for 4 weeks and they have not moved. Vacuumed a couple of times a week and they stay in place. Very pleased with this purchase.

Sticky back!

Nice product although trying to get the plastic off the back was a nightmare. Also be aware the carpet doesn't fully cover the step from the picture it looks like it does but 15cm short, I just painted what was left and it looks fine.

Very good value for money

Absolutely love this they are quality they fit as shown in picture they are very stable & most of mine have stuck pretty well just a couple that are loose but that's due to the design of my stairs so I would recommend a double sided adhesive strips or tape & they work a treat but I would highly recommend these
