Simple and does the job well

I think it's a pretty solid little toaster and seems to eat fast and consistently. However, my complaint is the crumb tray. You can see in the photos that my pink paper is in the crumb tray and it feels like 90% of the crumbs end up on sides and the shape of the inner metal means you can't even get it all scraped out with a knife.

After getting 2 Cuisinart toasters at Kohls which did not hold thin slices of bread cut at the bakery, I went online and found a hamilton beach toaster. This is because Ive always had Hamilton Beach toasters which were made in Racine. This one toasts unevenly and it is not as good as the one I had, but will have to do.

It gets HOT!

I used this once and promptly returned it after touching sides of the toaster nearly burned me. There's a hot symbol on the top but not the sides. I've never had a toaster get that hot all over. It seemed really unsafe, especially if someone has kids. It also didn't toast the bread evenly. Not worth it!

Hamilton beach 2 slice toaster is great for toasting bread or bagels. It has a selection for bagels, which keeps the slots open further. You can adjust the dial to your preferred toast darkness. Has a cancel button if you need to stop the toasting before it pops. You can also lift the toaster lever to access smaller pieces of toast easier. This did smell the first time I used it, so I’d recommend running it without bread the first time. After that, it’s been great. It is a sleek style, that will fit into any decor.

Waste of money

bad smell goes away after several cycles. But the toast on medium setting was too light. tried to increase by turning the knob. It clicked then broke. Taking this junk back to get another model.

Scary bad toaster!

I don't know if it is just my toaster or all the ones from this model, but from the moment we plugged it in and got it started, it began to smell so bad I had to press the cancel button and unplug it. It smelled like burnt rubber or plastic. It was scary. I opened up all of our windows to air out the smell. I'm afraid it could start a fire if I try it again. So I just returned it. I hope no one else experienced this issue with their toaster but I definitely cannot recommend it at all. It was the worst toaster I ever had!

Not this toaster

I am replacing this toaster with a new one and one I had prior to this one. This particular toaster is terrible, no matter the toast setting it just doesn't toast properly. Cannot in good conscience recommend to others.

Toasts Unevenly

I had high hopes for this product, but without fail, it produces unevenly toasted bread--half brown, half white. And to get that brown half, you have to push the toast down two times at the highest setting. I have tried rotating the toast in different directions, to no avail. I will not be keeping this toaster. Fortunately, I got it on sale.

DANGEROUS

I read so many reviews before buying this toaster. Just as you may be doing right now. Saw more than one mentioning that upon plugging the toaster in, it starts to smoke. I figured well maybe just a couple bad ones. What happened when I plugged in my brand new toaster?? You guessed it. Smoke. My whole apartment now smells like funky fumes mixed with a smoky smell. This toaster should NOT be on the market.

Works well with wider slices of bread

I purchased this item 8 months ago and it has exceeded my expectations. It toasts sliced wider multi-grain bread and bagels perfectly. The size is small so it is great to not take up counter-space but the slots are still large enough to toast bagels. The crumb tray is easy to remove and empty and the stainless steel is easy to clean.

Poor quality

Purchased this mostly for the size. I live alone in an apartment, so I didn’t want anything big. And it was the size I needed, but that quality was terrible. I tried frozen waffles, English muffins, bread and bagels. I used different settings. But everytime the brown was uneven. Sometimes not the top or bottom Once the frozen waffles came out almost burned on one side and practically uncooked on the other side. I looked inside while cooking and I could see not all the the wires were lighting up orange. Not sure if I just had a defective one, but I returned it and bought the next one up in price. Also a Hamilton Beach. So far, so good.

Toasts wide and narrow slices perfectly

Wide enough for bagels, holders narrow for thin slices. Like it because it does *not* ding or ring to notify when toast is done. Simple to use, toasts evenly. Nice looking metal in a clean design. Replaces a 12 year old Hamilton Beach that works well but finally got too grubby to keep clean, and had that annoying high-pitch beeper indicating when toast was done. This new one is perfect for us.

Not a long term item.

It worked well for almost a year. I’ve had it since 2020. Although I still have it, it’s going straight to the trash. Since last year, I noticed one area of the toaster getting hotter than the rest. I hardly use it so thought nothing of it. I kept noticing that particular area kept getting hotter. Fast forward to yesterday, I was warming up a bagel and that one spot had the area sticking out and the bagel caught on fire on one side. Literally on fire. That’s something very unexpected. It was throwing smoke before using it too. This is okay for temporary use, in my opinion. Not long term worthy.

I really liked and enjoyed the toaster I was sent. The smooth silver finish is lovely. I always toast my breads so I put my toaster to good use. The temperature numbers were easy to read and didn't have to be turned up high to get the brown I desired. I love that it has a bagel button and my bagels came out great. Not burned or too hard. It was also easy to clean and nice and compact it fit right on my counter. You cannot go wrong with this toaster by Hamilton Beach.

I absolutely love my new toaster I used it over the weekend and my toast came out perfect. I also love it has a bagel option. I finally used that option yesterday and my bagel was toasted perfectly. If your looking for a good toaster look no further this is a great product and one you will not regret purchasing it's not to big and not to small it also catches all crumbs and makes for a easy clean up Its efficient and the best toaster I've ever owned. my toast is always cooked evenly and quickly if ur needing a new toaster I highly recommend this toaster

A very nice looking toaster. Simplistic. Don't really care for stainless steel because of all the fingerprints. I put a slice of bread in, set the dial on 4, which is the middle button. I noticed that one side of the bread was getting black, so I hit the cancel button. Pictures below show each side of the toast. I looked at the heating coils while it was toasting and the side that got darker was really hot, the other side the coils didn't seem to glow as much. It does have a bagel button also. Crumb tray on the back side of toaster.

Poor Design and Not a Quality Toaster

I bought this on Black Friday a few months ago. I only use this 1 to 2 times a week. This month, it did not pop the items up. It only popped it up 1/2 way and it started burning the bread. The only way I can get the toaster to stop is to crank up on the handle to get it to stop working or un plug the toaster. It also toasts uneven. Burnt on one side and not toasted on the other. This is the 3rd toaster I owned. My other toasters lasted me 15 plus years. This one, not even 3 months. Site wouldn't let me upload JPEG photo. Otherwise I would.

Poor quality

This toaster looks nice, but makes really sad toast. Even on the highest setting, toast comes out soft and barely toasted. I have to run bread through twice, watch it so it doesn’t turn into charcoal, and manually pop it up. Even still, toast comes out unevenly toasted with one end almost burnt and the other end still soft and only lightly toasted. It’s a big hassle for some mediocre toast. The tray in the bottom that catches crumbs is an okay idea, except that there are tons of crumbs that still gather inside the toaster and don’t fall into that tray.
