Everything we hoped it would be. Great pie plate!!

A beautiful piece. Love the large size. Only issue my wonderful wife had was needing to adjust her recipes for the awesome capacity. First pie was a delicious apple pie for Thanksgiving dinner. Next up a Door County Cherry Pie. My personal favorite.

Festive Pie Dish

Quality construction, as I have come to expect from Emile Henry. Very rich, deep red glaze finish. Makes a nice holiday presentation.

The absolute BEST pie dish!

I love using this pie dish for all kinds of pies, both sweet and savory. I've owned this dish for at least 8 years and it has never failed me. It holds a lot but I can use my standard recipes in it. You can cut in the dish without fear of harming the finish, crusts turn out perfect, it cleans easily, and as with all my EH pieces, this one looks lovely when serving out of it. I have also used it when baking a small batch of biscuits, although now that I have the Square Baker I'll probably use that. :-) Don't hesitate to buy this--you will never regret it.

Used these for my Thanksgiving pies this years. No issues going from freezer to oven for blind baking. Beautiful even golden crusts. Beautiful presentation on the dessert table.

Wonderful pie baker

I have used this pie dish to bake chicken pies and various fruit pies. Bakes the bottom crust perfectly. Highly recommend.

This is something I have wanted for a long time and finally I gifted it to myself. It makes anything I make in it, whether a pie or quiche, something special.

I bought this pie dish for a gift. I have two of my own and my pie crusts come out great every time. The crusts are alway done and not soggy. I could never say that about Pyrex.

Beautiful and Functional

I attended Kate McDermott's Art of the Pie Camp at her home up in Port Angeles, WA. She gives hands-on instruction as to the finer points of making a really excellent pie, from the crust to the filling to the baking. Four students at a time. Part of the camp is that each student makes his or her own pie, and she supplies Emile Henry pie plates to each person, just like this one. They bake evenly, and I love the deep dish style. And they are very attractive, making the student look like a master. I came home with one and promptly ordered three more of various colors. Love them!

The perfect pie dish for a feast

Defective

I actually bought two of them and one of them has slight defects in the ceramic coating where, either something prevented the ceramic from adhering in the process of making it, or something was placed inside of the pie dish and some came off. I tried twice to get a hold of customer service and after the second time I was asked to send in pictures which I did but I never heard back from the, The other one is fine and I have been using Emile Henry products for years now so I would still recommend it. Maybe it's best buying these products from Amazon where the consumer is treated with more respect when it comes to returns.

Love the weight and color. It is a bit hard to serve from with the crust having a wave to it but I suppose seasoned pie makers would know that from looking at it.

This dish is pretty with or without a pie in it, meaning you can use it as a catch all or fruit bowl when their is no filling! When it is in use as a pie, its perfect for crustless pies and catches crumbs for crusted pies.
