Great start

My students enjoyed watching their caterpillars growing. The disappointed came when all of them didn’t come out of their cocoon and some butterflies died. Out of the entire 30 we released 6. I’ve gotten some from here before but it was on 5.

We have done this for years. The butterflies are wonderful, but not this year.

This is our first year hatch All, less than half of our butterflies actually matured. I absolutely love doing butterflies every year, but this was our first year. That was definitely not good. We will try again.

We've had more success in previous years

This was the least successful year I've had with the caterpillars; we didn't recieve enough covers for the small containers and not many made it to become butterflies. My students were a bit disappointed

Low Classroom Kit Success

We are a Parent Cooperative and have ordered caterpillars the past 4 years for our preschool class- usually the cups with multiples in them. It’s always been fun and successful. This is the 1st year we’ve done the huge class room set with individual cups- I would NEVER order it again. It was more work and we only had 14 out of 33 survive to flight. 4 more had deformed wings and we had 3 more actually rot!! While it ended being a profound lessons on life cycles, it was a disappointment to the kids and parents and staff alike.

Great purchase. The instructions were very helpful. My students were very excited from the day we received them till the day we had to let them go. I would definitely do this again.

Great classroom kit

I used the kit with my kindergarten and 1st grade stem classes. They loved observing the caterpillars and getting to see the butterflies emerge. The kit came with everything you need, was well packaged, and the instructions were easy to follow. We had great success.

I bought this for my childcare center. The complete process was to easy to follow. All the children participated and were fascinated seeing the stages. We released the butterflies last week while celebrating our Pre-K graduating class.

It was not a great one! We ordered two classroom kits. Between both classrooms we only had 7 hatch out. It was disappointing to the students. However, when I called and talked to the service representative he did make it right.

Love our butterflies

We have been ordering Butterfly kits for over 20 years from Insect Lore. This years group of butterflies was the worst set we have ever received. Almost half the caterpillars did not attach to their lids and about 10 of the bunch did not hatch out into butterflies. We still used it as a teaching opportunity but it was disappointing. Hoping next year is a better success.

Butterfly Review

We had a lot of successful butterflies. However, many of the caterpillars/chrysalis fell off the lids because they were too heavy or slid right off. All of those caterpillars/chrysalis did not survive. We also did not have enough cups and lids to put all our caterpillars in individual cups.
