Control cable for American Standard Cadet Faucet
I needed to replace the control cable in my eight-year old American Standard Cadet bathroom lavatory faucet. Although this faucet is no longer sold by American Standard, the control cable was available at a very nominal cost. The control cable arrived very quickly. My only complaint was that there were no instructions supplied with the control cable. There are a few tricks to install a new control cable such as the cable being reverse-threaded. However, I found a very informative video on the web that provided clear instructions. The installation is quite straightforward with the help of the on-line video.
Replacement part found!
A part on our 10 year old American Standard faucet needed replacing. The faucet still looked good but I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find a replacement part. I called American Standard directly and after some time on the phone they were able to find a similar part and it worked perfectly. They were extremely helpful and I’m so happy that I didn’t need to replace the entire faucet.
Speed Connect Cable
Worked like it should. They sent the wrong item first time but I finally got it.

I found out it didn't fit my center drain piece...
I found out it didn't fit my center drain piece and instead of buying the additional parts, I bought the whole faucet kit from American Standard.
No instructions at all
If it had been stated that this part had a revers threading into the actual spigot, I would not have had to order anything. I bought an entire new unit and discovered the reverse threading on the plastic end.
It does the job
This product makes installing a pop-up drain really easy, even for a non-handyperson. The only drawback is that the reason I needed to make this purchase is that the plastic on the part that came with the faucet originally broke as we were putting it in. As a result, I worry a bit about how this will hold up over time. For now, though, I'm happy to have a nice, working faucet on my sink!
awful junk
leaks where black cable housing joins grey plastic body. leaks where grey plastic body threads onto tailpipe. threads in grey plastic body strip easily, with only moderate hand torque. I complained to Am Standard & they sent me a new tailpiece assy.
Better Pop Up Control
This pop up uses a cable from knob to drain instead to a rod, linkage, and another rod. It works very well and there is no linkage to mess up. I wonder what took the industry so long to develop this method.
