Inconsistent Quality Control Issues

I purchased 3 of these early spring and they were well built, no bowing, straight, and held together, very impressed and they looked good. Then they sold out! The next batch, someone took short cuts. The middle rail wasn't nailed to the lattice, the wood warped like crazy. All 6 that I ordered had to be returned because of this defect. My third batch is doing it again..they're going back. It's too bad, nobody paid attention, these look good and I really like them, I'm hoping OE can help me.

Nice Looking

It is a nice looking trellis, but it isn't as sturdy as I expected. If you hold it to straighten, it will move/change it's alignment so it's not square anymore. I'm not sure how long it will last in higher winds, but it's too hot in Florida for the metal trellises.

[Rewarded Review] Good looking trellis

The trellis was easy to install and blended well with the vines. The smaller size of the slats were the right size so the plant could adhere to it. It was the correct height to fit against my brick wall and gave clearance without being obtrusive. It was light weight but sturdy. It should last for years.

I ordered and received 4 Cape Town trellises. Delivery was on time. Two of the the trellises were delivered falling apart with nails were sticking out. I wanted to set up my new trellises immediately so got some help hammering the nails back in and putting the 2 trellises back together, but I am very disappointed with the quality of workmanship. The wood was thin and flimsy. Sturdier wood might have been used along with screws instead of thin nails which looked more like tacks. Paint was not even and parts of the wood were not completely painted. I will have to buy paint and touch up those spots.

Color is good, a little pricey

Prefect for what I needed, but very pricey for a few pieces of wood stapled together. Color was good. Since I got free shipping, overall the cost was worth it to me because it fulfilled a purpose.

Clean line, wood trellis

Great size, sturdy for climbing roses, sleek, clean design allows the roses to be the focus.

Cheaply made

Item arrived late and falling apart. The design is nice but the wood was so cheap it began warping immediately. I had to use my nail gun to secure the pieces together since the entire trellis is assembled using only staples. The stain on it had weird streaks like the other reviewer mentioned. I also had to put a layer of poly on it since there is none leaving it totally exposed to the elements.

Love the Style

Lightweight, wooden structure. The simple style is what I like most about this.

Garbage

I ordered 3 of these - one is deformed, another is totally broken. I didn’t even open the 3rd, they’re all going back. They are just small pieces of wood painted. Don’t be fooled!

[Rewarded Review] Attractive but flimsy.

Received in nice sturdy box. The trellis had several pieces fall off when pulling out of box. The pieces are stapled but staples were either missing or partially pulled out. Had to refasten several pieces. Would help if the bottom legs were pointed for pushing into ground. You can not try to step on the bottom horizontal bar to force the legs into the ground.

[Rewarded Review] Nice Trellis

In the process of setting up the trellis for my parents. They have a Mother Mary statue in the backyard that had been previously damaged. They are attempting to enhance the look so the trellis was placed behind it and to plant henryii-clematis. The project is not completed (Mother Nature has a say so), but will be soon. Trellis is sturdy for being wood, a lot better than latticework. It’s easy to handle and placed in the ground, but I do wish the legs were longer to put more in the ground (will attach two metal rods next to legs for sturdiness). Hopefully with no rain this week the task will be completed. I would buy this again.
