Would be nice if came assembled

Lovely wood and looks nice but the substandard hardware made it impossible to put together. When a 71 year old lady splits a cam when trying to rotate it, you have a problem.

WILL NOT BUY AGAIN!!

None, and I mean none, of the small indentions lined up with the holes for the hinges or the tension arms. Additionally, the indentions were not even lined up for the lid to sit on the center of the chest. Furthermore, the hinges were rusted and required cleaning and oiling. I would not recommend this chest with it having all of these issues.

My husband is ill and unable to assemble the trunk -- so can't review it right now. However, the trunk arrived on the appointed date.

Nearly great

Having some IKEA assembly experience, I did not have trouble with assembly until ... It went together well until I was to attach the lid. The instructions indicated that the factory had predrilled the holes for the hinge screws - but they hadn't. Luckily for me, the factory had predrilled the holes for the counterweight springs, which allowed me to determine the proper location for the hinge screws. Once I predrilled them, it was not a problem. If you are unfortunate to have the same problem, it is important to prop up the top of the chest lying on its side by about one inch or so to bring the counterweight springs into the proper orientation with the top. Then the location of the hinge screws is easy to determine.

Better than I was expecting

I love the way it looks iny living room. Had a little problem with assembly, but we worked through it. The nooks and crannies like to attract dust, so it needs dusting more often.

The color is nothing like the online picture. The safety latch part sucks.. you’ll need a drill. “Pre-drilled” holes are pin pricks. Almost not even visible.

poor material used

Poor material used on the trim going to have to sand it and re-stain it, and hope that it turns out OK. This was a gift for our granddaughter not happy with this at all. Very very poor material used. I shop at Kohl’s a lot online, and in the store never expect poor workmanship from them.

Mine was a disappointment

This broke in several places while I was trying to put it together.I’m very disappointed to have spent the money I did and have no value for it. I must have gotten a defective one.

Not what it should have been for this price.

I got this trunk fast and was pleased with the quality of the wood.

Inexpensive, mostly wood, flawed finish

The construction and finish are mediocre it's still off gassing several months after assembly. Every towel that comes out of it smells like poison for a few days. Perhaps another coat of a different paint would help.

love this! It's much bigger then I anticipated, it's made out of a good quality wood, not flimsy particle board. Fits perfect at the end of the bed. Easy to put together and build to last. looks nice and holds so much.
