Cats love it!

I've had this cat fountain for nearly 3 months and my cats and I LOVE it! I will say that my pump needs to be cleaned WAY WAY more often than advertised (every 1-2 weeks) but all in all I don't suppose that's a *bad* thing. Reading the reviews I did buy a spare pump to keep on hand when the first one died, but every time my pump starts to get feeble I completely pull it apart per the directions, scrub it inside and out, and it's back to working amazingly well afterwards.

Cannot Provide BPA-Free Plastic Certification

Purchased from Petsmart and can provide receipt, so this is a verified review if Catit so requests that information from me. With the allure of the cute product I knew my cats would love, I purchased without checking for certain certifications first, such as BPA-Free Plastic. After setting it up at home, scouring the box and actual fountain for that information, I went to the products page on Catit's website for it, still to no avail. Upon reaching out to Catit via email, they were unable to provide any proof that this particular fountain, "Product ID: 43717" "Catit PIXI Fountain" was made of BPA-Free Plastic.

Light stopped working/High maintenence!

Cute...but within 60 days, indicator light stopped working. I find it very hard to keep clean and keep slim from building. To clean it right, you must take everything apart and clear every couple weeks, and replace water, clean/wipe any slim in bowl bowl every few days. Only one cat likes it and I ended up putting a a regular water bowl out for 2nd cat. So I will be tossing...what a waste of money. I would not want to give this away for fear of off loading the high maintenance and high chance of mold build up on a friend or stranger.

It's been our favorite for years

My cat loved this fountain up until he passed from old age, and now my two new kittens love it as well. It does grow pink mold, but that's expected in ANY fountain. A bit of dish soap, qtips, and hot water will clean it up without issue. The first pump failed but that's because I didn't clean all the parts of the pump, but Catit replaced it without issue. I clean mine once every week because my fur balls somehow get food in there, but the filter still lasts 4 weeks as expected. The filters aren't expensive either, which is wonderful.

2 years no issues

ive had this fountain for over 2 years and have not had issues yet. it is important to keep the motor clean which includes opening it up and cleaning the inside (the lattice cover pops off and then you use the cover to pop out another piece inside). if you do not clean the motor regularly, it will get buildup and stop working (i made this mistake when i didnt realize the motor had removable parts). i clean the fountain and motor once a week.

Very disappointed

We purchased this very expensive water fountain in April. Hasn’t even been a full 6 months. The pump stopped working, one of the prongs that connect the pump to the cord inside the fountain came out and stayed in the permanent cord attached inside the unit. Our girls won’t drink out of anything else, so we had to purchase another. Regular scheduled maintenance was done every time it was supposed to be. The pump was completely taken apart as per instructions. I couldn’t return or exchange the fountain to PetSmart, because it’s a 60 day policy. If the fountain is working properly, I give it 5 star. However, it only gets 2 because it broke less than 6 months of having it.

Terrible experience

The fountain was wonderful for the first 3 or 4 months. Then the pump started to sound like lawn equipment. After multiple attempts to get it to work properly, I gave up and tried ordering a replacement pump. They were sold out of course and stayed sold out for months. At this point, the fountain has not functioned properly for more than 50% of the time I've owned it. If it hadn't been such an expensive purchase to begin with I would have tossed it in the garbage. Thankfully the pumps are back in stock, just be prepared to spend almost as much on shipping as you do for the pump. Very dissatisfied with the entire thing. And don't bother reaching out to customer service, they don't respond. It's been 2 months since I created my ticket and still haven't heard back from them. I fully regret this purchase.

Love Torn

We, our furr baby and I, absolutely love this fountain…for the time it worked. Our cat is obsessed with ‘strongly’ letting us know he wants a faucet on to drink from ( his BOWL simply won’t do if we are in the bathroom). The sink, tub, shower, at anytime. So this was be amazing and he hasn’t asked for a faucet or gotten in the way of the toothpaste once 🤣.

DO NOT BUY

All I can say is, DO NOT BUY this fountain. Although it looks cute and versatile for your pet, it is indeed a MOLD magnet. No amount of cleaning and filters will eliminate the mold that grows in your pets water fountain. I contacted Customer Service in order to share what had happened and they were unwilling to work with me or provide me a return. The pump is not quiet, it's not easy to clean. I actually cut myself a few times scrubbing the mold that builds up along the plastic seams on the inside of the fountain. It only took a few days for the water to become slimy. If you like to clean your pets fountain a few days a week, this one is for you. However the bacteria and buildup is at least a 45 minute process to clean every few days.

Disappointed

I contact customer service and not heard back, been 4 weeks and send another email. I had mine for about a year now, I bought it in 2022. Recently the pump started acting up till it finally went out, I contact customer service when I noticed it was acting up to attempt to replace it before it completely goes except nobody reached back out to me and you can NOT buy the pump online because it's sold out!! The pump has been sold out for months yet the product is still being sold. My Cat will NOT drink water any other kind of way unless it's filter or stright from the faucet and I don't mean fresh water in bowl she will drink directly from faucet sink while it streams. Unfortunately my Cat develop an UTI costing a vet trip and medicine ontop of daily washing bedding because of low quality pump performance.
