This item is not compatible with Siri. As the name of the product is: ceiling fan SMART, we thought it would be compatible with Siri. This is our mistake, as it was not indicated in the specifications. When we placed the order, we were not 100% sure it would be compatible with Siri but we thought that we had 30 days to return it so it would not be a problem. This is still the case but at a cost of $15! (Shipping). Once more, that info is not very visible on the website. The info should be displayed next to the return policy and we would have made an “informed decision”. I would have called customer service to find out if the product we bought was compatible with Siri. It is very possible that I would have bought a different kind of ceiling fans as a result of the ceiling fan smart not being compatible with Siri. This is a way for Wayfair to easily loose customers. They got our money this time, but lost us as customers and not only us: this will turn out to be negative word of mouth instead of positive word of mouth

Excellent Bridge!

After wasting several hours with the BroadLink RM4, I heard this bridge worked well with fans and awnings… particularly Somfy/Sunsetter brand awnings. Not only did it work perfectly for controlling my awning, I was able to program 3 random brand ceiling fans that were not compatible with the BroadLink product. Alexa, voice control was also quick, easy, and accurate.

2nd Bond is perfect

1st Bond unit we received would not work, Bond support couldn't get it to work either. Rating is 5 stars simply due to customer support from Lightsonline! I let them know the issues we were having and they sent a replacement out right away. Second unit is flawless. Excellent and speedy customer support from Lightsonline that you rarely see nowadays! Will definitely buy from them in the future.

Not the right solution

It does everything it advertises, and works well with Home Assistant, but has one major flaw which makes me regret buying into its ecosystem: it's one-way communication.

I did all I could to properly connect to my smart device. When it was all said and done I was notified by my device that it was connected. When I tried to have it turn the fan light on it said OK, but nothing happened. I could not get it to work after trying several methods. I then returned it as I did not actually get it to work.

Almost never works

This bond controller works about 20% of the time. I constantly have to reset it or troubleshoot it in some way, shape, or form. I never know what fixes it when has to be reset or why it stops working in the first place but I have to do it almost daily. I have become so frustrated with it never working I am basically giving up on it. Save yourself the frustration and find other means to make your fans/lights work with smart controls (ie smart fan purchase, wifi wall controller, etc)

Easy setup and works as advertised

I bought this to control a fireplace and a ceiling fan. First off, the fireplace manufacturer sell a home automation device for $250. With this only costing $99, it was worth a try.

Adds app control to RF remote ceiling fans

Bond Bridge is a nifty tool to add "smart" app control to older RF-remote ceiling fan & light. It supports many RF protocols and frequencies and is straight-forward to set up. It has long range and works reliably.

Replace your remotes with your smart phone

This is great for home automation and works from my iPhone. I have fan in my bedroom that does not work with it's remote anymore. I thought about replacing it (assuming the fan was going bad), but decided to try the Bond Smart Wi-Fi instead. It works perfectly, the Bond programmed with a single press from the remote and it has full control of the fan, fan speed, light, and dimmer. I placed the device itself in my bedroom and got the idea to try the fan remote from living room fan (out the door and down the hall). It also worked with the first try. Now I can control both ceiling fans with the Bond device in my bedroom. No more keeping track of remotes or trying to work the fan with a failing remote, the fans and lights come one with the same app in my phone.

Finally - integrating remote control devices with smart home!

I was so excited to see this product suggested with my Minka Aire fat. I bought it, and tried it on my remote blinds before having the fan installed. It took some jiggering to get it to work with my Smith and Noble motorized blinds. (Hint, try to program the stop button first). These work great with Alexa. The integration with the Minka fan was straightforward for the Bond app, but does not work with Alexa. (She sends me to Ecobee.) I'm still working on this adjustment, but wanted to note that you're still going to have to put some work into getting this going. The customer support appears excellent, as everything I tried came from their forums.

Works Great!

It was easy to set up and works well. I love mine. I control two fans with my Amazon Alexa. The controls include on/off, 3 speeds and the lights. Alexa configuration tip: I installed universal RF remotes on my fans. On the remote, on and off is controlled by one button, so when the button is pressed, the device switches to the opposite state. The Bond emulates the remote so it does the same thing. Nice and simple! When you configure a fan in Alexa, I would not include the device in your "general" groups. Here's why. If a fan is off, and you leave home and tell Alexa to "turn everything off," the fan controller will send the on/off command and the fan will turn on. I control each device separately, or I have them in a group of similar devices such as "porch fans".

Easy installation

The Bond Bridge was a breeze to install. The app for android has just been discontinued and a new Bond app is available. Once the app is installed it was simple to setup my ceiling fans. You must have the original remote controls to setup your ceiling fans and lights. I live in a single story manufactured home so placed the Bond bridge in a central location so it is in range of all three ceiling fans in my home. It works like a treat. The Bond bridge is simply an RF remote controller that is connected through your home wifi. I have it linked to my Google home app so I can now control all three of my fans and lights with voice commands. The Bond bridge comes highly recommended as you don't have to upgrade your remote controlled ceiling fans to expensive smart fans.

Bond Device (Automate Remote Commands)

I only gave this 3 stars out of 5 because there are some small issues that they should have fixed a long time ago and are still an issue. I hooked this up to a ceiling fan in my kitchen. I have a second fan being delivered today that I will also hook up to it. My fan is a 6 speed fan with an LED light attached. It is completely controlled by a remote, no hanging strings. The remote has a lot of buttons including on and off for the fan and light, dimming buttons for the light, two buttons for changing the direction of the fan blades, timer functions, and buttons to increase or decrease the speed of the fan by one step each. This last part bothered me because I wondered how Bond would change it to the speed I wanted to without problems. So I followed the directions and started to set up the remote. I don't know why, I choose one of the reverse buttons as the first one to set up. Upon detecting the remote, it asked me which of 2 remotes I was setting up based on this one button. Reading the remote model, I choose the one that matched and the rest of the buttons were set up instantly! This really made it easy for setup as I didn't know how to set up half of them because the buttons were listed as buttons to set up. They added buttons for this which I will showed pictures of from the APP. After that, I attached the Bond APP to the Google Home APP so that I could control the fan with my voice. Now what I can do is specifically tell Google which speed I want my fan to be on. I can say, speed 6, it will set it to speed 6 which was my main concern. The fan can be turned on and off via voice command as well as the LED light. There is even a chart that allows special commands like setting the fan to hurricane force for the high setting. Commands like low, medium, and high work too. What doesn't work is the reverse function and the light dimming through google home. Bond's interface doesn't allow me to use voice commands or set up voice commands for the buttons they have. I am stuck with the basic on and off commands or fan speed. When I ask google to reverse the fan, it says that the feature isn't part of my fan even though it is. I can use the Bond APP to reverse with the buttons or dim with the buttons though, but using the app wasn't what I wanted as it was supposed to be completely voice command. After doing research into this, I learned that this was always an issue going on for years that people complained about but Bond hasn't addressed even though they promised to address. People even asked for API access to create their own work around. IFTTT doesn't allow a workaround either. I am guessing that the reverse feature doesn't work because my remote has a Summer and Winter button instead of one button. As for the dimmer, I have tried a lot of different commands but nothing works (numbers, medium, etc...). The button names were the first options I used but they SmartThings won't link to Bond which would have been a work around if it did, It is another feature the company promised to link but hasn't yet which could have solved a lot of problems. So I can control the fan speed and turn the fan and lights n and off. I need the APP or remote to change the direction or dim the lights. It isn't ideal but works enough that I won't complain too much. I am not happy with the research I found on future Bond development, because they promised for years they would provide us with features that we need but haven't come out with yet. I wanted a fan I could reverse on command, I didn't get that. The dimming of the lights would have been nice, but I could live without. If Bond was smart, they would set up their API so google commands would access the button names which could be renamed to the chooser's desired command. I would love to say, "Hey Google, set {Fan Name} to {Winter}!" Allowing custom names would have solved this but Google integration hasn't really been implemented like it could have been. So in the end, it works enough but not the way it should.

For what this costs, I expected more. I paired the Bond with a ceiling fan explicitly tagged as being compatible on Home Depot's site, and the performance is spotty at best. It's about a 50/50 chance that the command successfully gets through from five feet away with no obstructions. I tried pairing an electric fireplace also within five feet, and while Bond claims to have registered the remote, none of the commands work. If your remote requires you to push the same button multiple times to change fan speed or dim the lights, you're basically out of luck. I will say that the Alexa compatibility seems to work just fine, but it can be even more frustrating to ask her to turn off the fan light four times until it actually happens. Note that you need the original remote for your device to program the Bond, so you can't really use it to replace a lost remote. I wouldn't buy this again at full price; maybe at $50.

Great product for the smart home tinkerer. I have a well connected, home grown smart home, but there was always a gap with devices that still require a remote including my cieling fans. I bought this primarily to control the fans and it did that perfectly. I can now have Google turn each fan on/off, turn the fan light on/off and even set the fan speed. As a plus, I had my Bond learn my tv on/off signal and my Dyson air filter. Although I'm limited to labeleing the devices as a fireplace within Bond, the Bond will still replicate the signals and the integration with the Google voice commands still works. I'm happy with the product and looking forward to more development of the product.

I've been waiting a long time for a device like this. In a nutshell, it does what all those other remote hubs (i.e. Logitech Harmony) do, but with RF as well as IR. It's advertised as working with only specific devices, but in reality it seems able to reproduce any RF signal. Case in point, I got it to work with my TV's LED backlight. I had to trick Bond into thinking it was a ceiling fan, but it works regardless. Now, I can use Alexa to control the backlight's on/off state as well as dim level. I can also use Alexa voice commands to activate the all my fans and fan lights in 4 bedrooms - all by adding this one device. Depending on where you place it, you many be able to control your garage door opener as well.

I have been bitten by the Smart Home bug and jumped in with both feet. I started with Wink and quickly switched to Smartthings. The one problem area is ceiling fans. The current solution for non wireless fans seems to be a zwave switch but many expensive fans like Emerson have a wall control but it talks wireless to the fan so before BOND there was no way to integrate it into your smart home solution. While Bond doesn't really integrate with SmartThings it can be used. For example I have a open two story family room and if I don't have the fan going reverse in the winter it can be 10 degrees warmer upstairs than downstairs. My goal was to get bond to turn on my ceiling fan when Ecobee was heating. Two products with smartthings support that would take 5 min. This required some creativity. I created an IFTTT account and linked my Smartthings Hub and Bond account to it. In smartthings I created a virtual dimmer switch called Family Room Fan. In IFTTT I added the virtual switch and told IFTTT that when the Virtual Dimmer was on to tell Bond to turn on my ceiling fan x%. This allowed me to have a virtual switch to control my ceiling fan. From there I was able to tell Webcore (Similar to IFTTT but much more powerful platform in the smartthings community.) So when Ecobee turns on heating it tell smartthings to turn on the virtual dimmer which tells IFTTT to tell Bond to turn on the ceiling fan. Overly complicated but it works great. If and when BOND supports Smartthings I think this product will be a game changer.

They were no help on any questions that I had about this product. Home Depot should allow their employees some time to train about their new products. This product came with the ceiling fan, and a Google mini. The reason why I am focusing on that is 1 Bond unit is good for several fans and products. Bond setup was very easy for me. I have had it over a month. My fans are all about 10 year old ceiling fans with light fixtures that each run on a single switche (fan and light together) with remotes that control both the fan and the light. The Bond recognized the manufacturer remote, and I tested all of the default functions and removed the ones that did not work with each ceiling fan. What I thought was pretty cool is that although some of my remotes did not have the reverse function, yet the "reverse" function now works through the Bond app and voice commands with my Alexa Dots. I was very impressed that the one Bond hub operates all five ceiling fans with light fixture in my home (2500 SF, two-story). The dimming function does not work with voice commands, and that was a concern I had when purchasing the Bond hub. After using it for a few weeks, I realized that that function was negligible since I did not need to upgrade all of my fans. My family has grown to appreciate the convenience of a newly smart home with Amazon Alexa products and the Bond hub, but the smartest part of the Bond is utilizing the ceiling fans you own and the existing wiring without replacing a simple toggle switch with expensive smart switches or smart replacement remote modules on each fan.

I am in the process of turning all our homes into smart homes. Light switches, plugs, thermostats, etc. The only missing link was converting ceiling fans, fireplaces, remote controlled curtains and other remote controlled devices. I have ordered 4 BONDs so far. They are extremely easy to install, program, and operate. I have 2 items that I would put on a wish list, if I were to improve this product. 1) Allow the ability to name different BOND units when you have multiple units.Or allow for a drop down menu where you can have different homes and BONDs in each home. 2) Allow for more than 6 devices to be attached to each BOND. I have 6-7 fans, 3-4 fireplaces and other devices per home. So to fully automate, I need to purchase more than one BOND per home.
