I didn't realize the top and bottom pieces were painted brown instead of real wood. Doesn't matter to me, but it might to someone. I can't give it five stars because the directions to install were absolutely useless. Tips for others doing it themselves: Attach the barrel portion to the four black "arms" before installing the base to the ceiling. :-)
