Rusts easily

This is pretty crappy. I have a covered patio and it has been protected the whole time. It has rusty spots all over it including the upper side of the 2 side shelves. Very disappointed because I thought this was a good brand. I visited a friend with a different brand that was several years old and had no rust at all.

Product Great, but Lowe's Could Do Better

I think the grill itself is great and the price was definitely right at the time. It was one of the most least expensive grills that was offered by Lowe's when I bought it in August. However, the biggest problem I have is the presentation by the Lowe's store. When I came to pick up the grill, it looked like the thing had been stored outside and weathered every storm that rolled through Champaign over the past 6 months. It was dirty (like the dirt left behind after it rains) and the stickers were all sun faded and peeling and disintegrating basically. So, the grill itself is good, but how Lowe's can not even wipe a "new" product down before letting the customer take is totally beyond me. Super disappointed in Lowe's and the customer service I received, even if the purchase made was still worth it.

Nice low-cost grill

For the price this is a nice grill. plenty of BTU and very even heating. Grill does get to 500 degrees Fahrenheit with all 5 burners. The metal is a litter thinner than a more expensive grill. Be prepared to set a day aside to assemble the grill. There are only picture assembly instructions and are little difficult to figure out on some of the steps.

Heating challenge

Overall the grill is exactly what we wanted for our cabin in the woods. However, once hooked up, the grill would not heat over 250 degrees. I returned to the store and talked to a clerk who told me he had the same grill and same problem. He suggested disconnecting the propane tank, wait for a while then re-hooking and try again. This time it worked.

You get what you pay for.

I purchased this grill about a week prior to this review. I seasoned it, attempted to cook, but the heat distribution was so inconsistent, nothing cooked evenly. In addition, while trying to clean it, I could hear and feel every part of it jiggling around, like it was ready to fall apart. The only reason I didn't give one star is because Lowes was very understanding and accepted the return, only to advise me that they've had quite a few of these returned. I dropped the $$ and bought a Weber.

A unit that only meets "Fit for Purpose",

1. Original view of unassembled unit is that it is well engineered, holes line up and components are well labeled. As assembly progressed the picture diagrams are not the best. Had the grill 2/3rd's assembled only to find the gas hose was tucked up inside the from panel - disassembly required. Got to the wiring step and found the wire lengths are fit for purpose if routed only one way - all the wires have been cut with maybe 1/8 of an inch excess length, making connecting a pain.

Product fine, service not okay.

The product was fine. When I picked it up it was prebuilt for a sale they had going on. There were parts missing by the store when I took it home. It was dirty and all scratched up. I get that it was on sale, but still they had a couple others among the whole company and it wasn’t that it was on sale because it was the last one and it was scratched in few places. If you are selling a product I am still expecting to be in good condition. Then when my husband went and picked up the parts that they had found. They didn’t even apologize for given us the grill with a bouncy of missing parts.

Wrong parts were included and Lowe’s didn’t care!

This grill was supposed to be delivered fully assembled, instead it came in a box delivered by drivers who didn’t care about anything except getting back in their truck. Ok, after calling Lowe’s and being assured by the delivery manager that I could assemble it myself I decided to try. Well it doesn’t help the wrong parts were included in the box and by wrong I mean missing and not enough parts. There weren’t even spaces on the parts pack for the parts needed. I went back to Lowe’s and they didn’t care at all. They even charged me for the parts I needed which weren’t even correct. They said it’s a manufacturers issue and not their problem. Seriously?? Horrible customer service! And I still have a grill missing parts. I didn’t even get to the part where Lowe’s customer service kept disconnecting me and Charmglow has ZERO customer service! Stay away from this one!

Good Grill But.......

I recommend this grill. However, I also recommend getting one that's out of the box and has not been sitting in front of the store, outside, for months. Screws on mine were rusted, and some of the grill was faded. Worst of all the regulator was trash, I'm guessing for being outside in the rain and heat like I said for months. Had to take one off my old grill in able to use the new grill.....

Very dissatisfied

Very disappointed with this grill. To start the tank holder is cheesy. That’s the least important part. My main issue with this grill is the ignition set up. Instead of having and igniter on each burner there is one igniter that puts a flam from one end of grill to the other with no baffle to stop direct flam from contact with what ever you are cooking. To go further with the ignition the way it’s designed it used the same burner tubes for every burner, meaning the end burners have pilot flame orifices the send a big 4” flame off to the sides, so on each end of the grill there is inconsistent flame that will burn what ever you are trying to cook. I like to host BBQ’s and use all the grill space I have. With this grill I’m am limited because of the ignition set up. There are no end caps on the base leaving the grill open on the sides and looks rather cheap. Over all I’m not please I thought purchasing a char-broil was an apart move however I was wrong and will not be buying another one again.

Great Grill

Love my new grill, the problem I have is Lowe’s put the grill together. Which I didn’t want it put together because I didn’t have enough room in my vehicle to put it together. They send one man out to help me get it in my van. The poor guy, had the worst trouble trying to get it in my van. We ended up having to take pieces off. I get home and I have screws & bolts that weren’t even included in the directions…& they never gave me the propane tank holder for it.

Love it!

I really love this grill. We bought it after our old one finally died after 8 years. After my husband put it together (it wasn't too bad at all), I immediately began to cook on it. I grill more than my husband does. I was thrilled at how fast it heated up. It got up to temperature and beyond very quickly. Our old grill took a bit. The 5 burners definitely makes it hotter. After cooking on it for a couple weeks, I'm going to need to clean it. I'm hoping the drip pan comes out easily, but I haven't done that yet. Fingers crossed !

Great Buy! Char-Broil is a awesome brand.

It couldn't get any better than this. I studied and researched a lot beforehand. Lowes had a great selection and they were very informative. Char-Broil Performance Series Silver 5-Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill is a great buy. They assembled it and delivered it for me.

Not Happy!

I received the delivery of my new grill on Monday, September 25th. However, after the delivery crew left and I went to fire up the grill for the first time, I noticed that the starter button was defective. The grill will start with the help of using a lighter but the ignition button is useless. Additionally, the grill was delivered without having been cleaned prior to delivery, not at all like something that is brand new should look. I bought the grill online from Lowe's and have been searching for a way to contact Lowe's using the website to report the defective grill but I cannot find anywhere on the website to do so.

Mine was also dented, temp gauge doesn't work

The shipping box looked fine. It's almost like it was dented and then packed into the box. My temperature gauge is also bent and does not work. I have several dents across the grill, but they were not bad enough to bother with a return. Still disappointing.

Missing parts - Handle

The grill was missing the handle. We really needed to use the grill that day so the only way to open and close the lid was by using tongs, which was really frustrating. Using the platic tongs somewhat scratched the outside lid of the grill. On the box it states to contact the manufacturer for any misisng parts. It has been 1 week now that we’ve reached out and have not heard back. Very excited to use the grill, but haven’t used it since that initial time. Any help would be appreciated in resolving this issue.

Takes All Day to Build

Ordered the grill as a birthday present and it came in a day late. Finally got it unboxed and could not find the screws, and they put it in the worst place possible, in between the 2 sides so I couldn’t find them at first…why not just put them out in the open? After putting it together for several hours and putting the last few pieces together inside the actual grill, I noticed there was a dent in the back that made it impossible to actually put the vertical metal slides in. I had to get a hammer and hammer the dent out myself to make everything fit. I haven’t even fired it up yet to see how it works, hoping it’ll make up for the delivery process and the damaged product.

Good value grill, bad assembly at store

Only giving 3 stars because of the experience at New Albany, MS Lowes store. I really do like the grill, but it was not assembled properly at the store. I wanted one in the box, as I enjoy assembly, but all they had were pre-assembled grills. Most of the screws for the base/ frame fell out in the bed of my truck on the way home, and two were missing nuts and washers. The missing screws in the frame made it feel like the grill was falling off the frame, causing us to drop the grill when unloading, which bent the handle and dented the lid. I was able to fix most of that, but it looks rough. After all that, I was able to fire up the grill and all worked as it should, with the exception of the ignitor. It will ignite the grill, but the secondary ignitor for the side burner will not work at all. Will be contacting Char-Broil for a replacement. Looking forward to cooking on it this weekend.

If you're looking for a one-season grill . . .

Pro: heats up quickly and maintains the heat; Con: it's either on or off and regulating the heat within the grill is hit or miss. Con: auto ignitor stopped working within five uses.

Don't buy it if you want it to last

The grill took about 1 1/2 hours to put together. At first, it was fine. Then the covers for the burners won't stay in place. They keep falling down. The front is bowed out, so that doesn't help. Does not burn evenly. Actually, the burners don't adjust at all. Full flame or none. But wait.....there's more. If you don't deep clean the entire grill after each time, not just the grates, but the entire grill, then the next time you grill anything with any type of fat/grease.....the entire thing catches on fire. Lastly, this is only our second season of having it, and it barely lights, and now it wants to just stay on low. Money down the drain and have to buy another.
