Disappointed with ENO
Solid metal frame but prone to rust at the joints. They sent me paint to repair myself. But be careful -- we invested in the stand to have a hammock in the yard. Our Doublenest hammock tore and ENO declined to back up their product saying its supposed to be put away after every use?! What's the point of the heavy, immovable stand then?
Festival MUST
I bought this Hammock stand for 2016 Electric Forest. Electric Forest 2015 I couldn't find a consistent trees to hook up to every night. Every night since 2016 I have slept in a double nest with the SoloPod stand. Ember Underquilt is a great addition.
It's alright once up, but
It's alright once up, but this thing is a beast to put up and even more so take apart for a solo user. Seeing as it's designed for a solo hammock, that's not a great thing. I had this set up inside my apartment in lieu of having a couch for a temporary living situation. Other than it being a bit wobbly and squeaky, it worked well. But when I went to take it down, it kind of exploded apart. Thank goodness I put on some work boots just before or I would have 3 broken toes. The other end shot out and put a dent in my apartment wall. I was going to sell it before I moved, but I don't even feel comfortable giving it away now.
Good, needs a few tweaks
5 stars - quality; design aesthetic; shipping speed
The stand is phenomenal. Strong
The stand is phenomenal. Strong durable and creates the perfect Hamic. The only thing I would change is creating some sort of caring strap for the Hamic. It markets as though you can take it wherever you want but you really can’t move it as much as you’d like to. Set up is definitely quick but with a stand well over 70 pounds… It’s hard to use it wherever you want.
Rusted in under a week
I wanted this product for a long time because I don't have anywhere to string a hammock in my yard and I'm really let down by it. The stand only lasted a few days before rusting. For the price of the product, I'm pretty disspointed in the workmanship because the rusted areas occured both at a place of poor welding work and where the hammock is meant to be strung from the carabiners, meaning there's no way to avoid scratching some of the powder coating during normal use. Based on the weight and how the stand is put together, it isn't realistic to expect it to be brought inside/outside for every use because it takes a minimum of two people. I expected a lot more out of this product based on past experience with ENO.
[Rewarded Review] Perfect for outdoor relaxing this summer!
Bought this for my sister to relax just outside the house and so far it has been perfect. Easy assembly and perfect under her tree. Love that it breaks up into multiple parts for storage. The one detractor is the weight. Kind of cumbersome to carry around and store.
The ultimate nest!
It reminds me of the old Viking ships! Looks cool! It’s simple, understated design combines both form and functionality. Clearly some time and thought was put into the engineering of this from the actual hammock hanging/laying perspective. It sits at the perfect height to get in and out of for my wife and I (5’1” and 5’8” tall humans). While laying down, the hammock is kept at the perfect tension keeping you straighter as opposed to really sagging down. Dimensions are perfect for use indoors or out. Great quality for the price as it feels solid, nice coating, intuitive to set up, and the ENO emblems are an awesome touch.
Heavy, solid, perfect for backyard hammock life
I've had an ENO DoubleNest Hammock for a few years and have used it for camping trips and with wall mounts in my apartment. I finally broke down and grabbed the SoloPod for use in the backyard. Don't know why I waited, but looking forward to the many spring and summer afternoons with it. Pretty easy to set up solo - the tubes are heavy but manageable. Everything connects with steel spring pin connections. The included steel clips for mounting your hammock are great - I like these vs. the old steel carabiners that came with my wall mount setup. And nice touch of ENO include spare parts just in case.
[Rewarded Review] Sturdy and easy to move
So when I bought this to go with an Eno hammock, I wasn’t sure how convenient it would be. It is longer than I envisioned and we stationed it in the backyard. Rain was coming and I wanted to move it under the covering. I can’t move it myself so I enlisted my youngest to help. She suggested we take it apart and move it inside. It was so quick and easy that once we got it inside, she just set it up again.
[Rewarded Review] It does what it needs to
Bought it for a small sunroom on our home that had limited space. Does the trick. Sturdy construction. Priced too high for what it is, I own another that’s just as good in quality and construction that was significantly cheaper that I use in the yard. I couldn’t find another one with a small enough footprint for what my desired use, so I begrudgingly bit the bullet and paid the man. Eno also does a good job of picking your hammock for you with this stand. I prefer Kammok hammocks and had a few on hand, but none worked well in this stand. I borrowed a few other brands from friends and family that didn't work well either. Maybe theres another one out there that will work, but I did end up throwing away money for an eno doublenest. Smart move by the manufacturer, but not looked upon favorably by this consumer. 5 stars for the ease of putting it together, quality, and construction of the stand (though is I can’t speak for its durability in the elements given its indoor placement.) -1 for not playing well with others. -1 for the pricepoint. Sure, no one twisted my arm to buy it, but even the small footprint doesn’t make up for the huge gap between this stand and some others on the market.
[Rewarded Review] I love this so much...
I have this on my back porch and it has become my new favorite place in (outside of) my house. It works perfectly with my Eno Doublenest hammock. I would not consider this portable but rather a solid piece of furniture. It is incredibly sturdy and I have swung in my hammock with both my kids without worry and also with my husband without issue. I bought this for my birthday/mother’s day and honestly can’t think of a better gift to myself. I use my hammock everyday now and it has become my happy place. If you are contemplating, go for it! Just make sure you measure your space and I’m not sure I could recommend it for portable use as it is a good 60lbs, but ENO makes a much more portable, lighter hammock stand for that purpose also available on Moosejaw.com.
Heavy duty, well built, not so portable
First impressions... Heavy, very heavy, but for my purposes heavy is not bad. This will live in my backyard and probably not get moved too much except when the yard gets mowed.
