This may or may not be a very good faucet. After an extended amount of time and added expense I was finally able to get it installed (via licensed plumber) after discovering that the cartridge it came with was faulty. As a result I was forced to wait for the manufacturer to replace it about a week later resulting in needing a return visit by my plumber. I don't know who dropped the ball here, American Standard or Home Depot. All I know for sure about my purchase is that all 4 boxes in the store's stock were not sealed. I trusted that the "least tampered with" one I chose to purchase had been inspected properly before being made available for purchase. Once again I'm reminded of an important rule for shopping - "NO SEAL NO DEAL"

Great quality from American Standard, who are literally the standard in the industry. This 3 piece set is classy and pops yet does not over do it. It is useable in a variety of different bath tub/shower setups. The chrome looks great and does not look cheap. The shower head conserves water which helps save the environment along with save a lot of money on water bills, it has EPA certification. It comes with a lifetime warranty!

Great quality as expected from American Standard, chrome is still by far the best finish for the bathroom; stainless or nickel is difficult to keep spotless. This came with a high quality valve that looks like it will last for a lifetime, hence the lifetime guarantee. Mostly everything included in the packaging is high quality and well packed to prevent damage. The shower head is good, not great, but it does the job. Now, as far as the installation, unless you’ve done this before I do recommend a plumber. The instructions are clear, but after I had everything installed and perfectly mounted I turned on the water and had a small leak...I was sure I had tightened the pipes well, but didn’t use enough Teflon. Had to shut water and start over, not an issue with the valve, more to do with me. Overall very satisfied with the product and quality, would definitely recommend.

This is a very well-finished shower control system and sprayer head kit. The chrome-like finish is impeccable. I was surprised, however, that nearly every part in the kit is made from plastic. The only parts I could determine were made from metal are the brash valve unit and the control handle that attaches to the valve. Nonetheless, the parts are described as scratch resistant, so they should hold-up well over the long term. They seem to be quite sturdy and of high quality. I like the anti-scald system for user protection. That’s a valuable safety feature for any household. Also, the ceramic disk valve should provide excellent movement and a reliable seal. I certainly recommend this product for its high-end appearance at an economical price.

So, I got this faucet to install in a bathroom I was converting from a half-bath to a full bath with a walk in shower. It is a reputable brand. It came really well packaged, each piece individually wrapped. It has a nice brushed nickel finish. It uses female threaded openings to attach fittings, instead of having to solder, which I like.

Good budget friendly option. First off, the valve is made of brass and seems to be high quality. Also, most of the parts are made of metal — but, the tub filler is made of a thin plastic and so is the back plate for the valve handle. You could most likely never know that it is plastic, as the finish matches perfect and is done well. But, I’m kinda old school and think the metal parts always hold up better. It does have a perfect chrome finish and the valve handle is nice and heavy and feels expensive. The valve is built to last a long time and is very smooth. The shower head is perfect. I love the rain shower style heads and this one is the perfect size. If you’re tall or the shower head is low you might want to get a riser for the shower head to enjoy it to it’s fullest potential. Overall, I would buy again just will have to see how long the plastic parts hold up.

We have a few baths in our home that needed a refresher in terms of look, style and simply modernizing them. Swapping out plumbing can be a task so we knew what we were getting into before we picked up the American Standard Chrome finish, Rumson shower and tub combo. I’ve tackled a few valve installations before and its very convenient this setup came with the valve. Tracking down parts and components that work with your system can be a pain. Luckily, for this installation we had easy access to the valve through an adjoining closet wall. Pro tip- if you have to remove drywall, pickup a paintable plastic opening cover and cut your hole to that size, it saves you tons of drywall work and patching in the future. Some can be accessed from the front but it’s difficult to get to the piping and such to solder joints. Anyways, we love the operation and look of the Rumson setup. The fact that it uses less water is also a nice adder!

This avoids any brazing and risk of fires for the do-it-yourselfers. Use a plumber here if you prefer brazing. Ask a plumbing associate at your Local Home Depot for the right products to connect your fixtures with PEX and Shark Bites. Take a picture on your phone of your current plumbing for reference at the store. Copper to PEX is simple and resourceful. Future removal is a plus verses any faucet being sweated in. 5. Slow down and enjoy the project and the savings.
