Nice Kettle with a Flaw

I purchased this kettle, used it once and it was quick. Next time I filled it with filtered water from the fridge. I turned on the kettle and the display showed 3 dashes. It wouldn’t start heating. I was frustrated and decided to wait until later to pack it up for return. A couple of hours later I wanted to pack it up and decided to try it again. It showed the water temp and turned on and worked fine. I have since tested it more. When adding cold water from the fridge the kettle doesn’t register the temperature of the water and won’t start. As soon as I add some warmer water it will work. It’s annoying since I want to use filtered water from the fridge. I will likely return it.

I have been using my usual stove kettle until I tried this Chef's Choice Gooseneck kettle. Love how fast it heats up the water, the ease of use and how easy it is to use. Simply program the temperature using the touchscreen and let it work its magic. After using this electric kettle, there is no way I will go back to using the old fashion kettle. Thanks to this kettle I have more time in the mornings. Very easy to use and fits nearly anywhere on your countertops thanks to its compact design. Highly recommend this high quality and great value kettle.

This is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. Since we've received this we use it daily to heat water for tea, french press coffee and hot cocoa. My kids even use this and think its very easy and user friendly. I would highly recommend if you use a lot of hot water for beverages daily.
