Top heavy! legs are too close together creating a tip over hazard. Being mono chromatic and symmetrical in design one has to guess which top lid swings up. There should be a mark or small pull to designate which top half lid lifts. When lifting the side table you better make sure you don't pick up from the top flap that swings up! Since the flap top is not marked you'll find it swings up losing any grip of the table top, making one to juggle the side table, losing one's balance.That's not all, difficult to assemble, paint is thinly applied, I noticed several surface scuffs and edge wear spots. The kicker is the unit comes with a color matching grease pencil to touch up lost color areas! Unfortunately the color pencil doesn't quite match nor does its color lay down permanently.Anything good to say about this item? yeah... it's cheap, I bought two and threw them out for the yard sale the next day. Less

The table top pieces do not match up well where the hinge is located. We decided to use it in a room where guests won’t see it. I bought two because we were going to use them as end tables on each side of our sofa where there is not much space. The size is perfect, but it looks cheap. We are returning the second one.

Tables Okay Except

These end tables are what I expected. I did have a problem with one of the plugs used to cover the screws. The hole was too large for the plug. As a result the plug went too far into the hole and was below the outside surface of the leg. I had to drill a small hole in it to get it back out. I reinserted the plug just just to the right depth and filled the drilled hole with the blemish filler stick provided with the table.

Nice and attractive.

Overall the finish and fit were very good. A few small issues that are common to self assembled furniture. The dowel pins were too small for the size of the holes bored. Luckily I had some larger ones in my shop. The glue provided was a bit marginal but I solved that the same way as the dowels. One of the plugs was a tad small which I just decided to live with. It is the correct height and looks nice in where I have placed it. I look forward to many years of use.

Very disappointed in this table.

Table is well built, and fits the small space it was purchased for. The color was listed as "espresso" but in reality, it is a light brown wood. The light brown color makes the table look like an Early American piece instead of contemporary. If I had known the color was light brown, I would not have purchased this table. My husband put it together and threw away the box and wrappings before I got home from the grocery store. For the moment, it's a place to hold the lamp, but I'm very disappointed, and will keep looking for a table to replace this.

Easiest furniture assembly I've ever had

If I ever need to buy any kind of assemble-it-yourself furniture again, I'll look here for something from this company. It took me maybe 30 minutes to put together by myself. I bought a similar table with a drawer a few years ago from another company that took at least 3 times that and was a nightmare. This was so easy by comparison. I got the mahogany, and it's a little darker than pictured, but not enough that it matters to me. Some people might be bothered by that. I'm also not sure how much if any is solid wood and how much is a wood product, but it looks and feels solid and sturdy enough for me. I'm really pleased with this purchase.

Nice but Not Entirely Wood as Claimed

We chose this table among the many options because it presented itself as being wood, rather than particle board or MDF. As "MDF" and "particle board" are specifically listed in the descriptions of many other products, we assumed the absence of these terms and the repeated use of "wood" in the description and specifications for this table meant the item was made completely from actual, real wood. That isn't the case. While the portions are solid wood, others are particle board with the associated off-gassing and smell.One piece came with a ding in the finish which must have occurred prior to or during packing, as the packaging was very well done and the item completely protected for shipping. The instructions were clear and the assembly process was acceptable although a little finicky at times, requiring precise alignment of parts that didn't always stay in place.Its a nice table, and we'd have rated it higher, except for the deception in the description. Nice Solid Table

Solid construction, made with nice hardwoods, and it fits perfectly in the little nook for which it was purchased. Ordered the Dark Walnut and the color was true to the photos. Overall the table is very sturdy. Assembly was easy, though there was a slight misalignment on one corner, so getting the bolts in there took some finagling.One nit: While I enjoy having the flip top with room to store reading glasses, coasters etc, I also tend to spread things out on a table top. That means, when I want access to one of the items in storage, I have to make sure everything I have on top of the table (i.e. coffee, magazine, etc) is on the other half of the table or on the bottom shelf. Knowing that I may need to flip the top also means I often clutter everything else on the other half of the table. Further, the flip top could also use a small retention chain or arm as you either have to hold it while getting something or clear the whole table to allow the lid to lay flat on it. Yes, that's a big nit to pick (and I know you're crying tears of sorrow at my sad tale of woe), but sometimes it does make me wish for a drawer instead of a flip top. YMMV Less

Great little table.

This little table didn't disappoint! I was a little worried as the price was too nice.But the table arrived very well packed, had great assembly instruction and all the pieces and bolts etc were numbered as per instruction. So even an assembly fool like me was able to do the job. I was too inpatient to wait for my husband to come back home and really I as able to put it together myself. Though I have never done something like this before.All the pieces looked well made. All the construction seems like it was very well thought out. The color is nice (I got Walnut color). I am really impressed!

I own 2 of these tables

I would definitely buy any tables by this company. The tables are well made and are very easy to put together. They are also made in the USA. When we bought our second flip top end table we had some trouble with some of the locks and bolts breaking when we tried to tighten them. I wrote to the company and received a reply immediately assuring me they would make it right. After I sent a photo of the broken bolts they sent me some new ones the next day. This kind of service is invaluable to me because it saves me from either returning the item or replacing it. I appreciate them making my life easier and I still get to keep my table.

Color is nothing as pictured or described. Very disappointed

Very disappointed in the color. The image of the color Espresso is very dark almost black the name of the color "Espresso" to means equates to very dark almost black. The tables you shipped are a medium cherry color or mahogany. Wanted to give one star because I bought these for the size but most important the color. I gave the second star only because for they money they are decent little side table. I now have to paint them. Very disappointed and extremely frustrated.

Best not to purchase this on-line only product

I thought this was the perfect piece of furniture for the small space I had. Unfortunately, as I unpacked it, I notice a slight split in the veneer covering a glue joint on the side panel. Although annoyed, I thought I would be able to live with it. I continued to unpack and then noticed a stain on the very visible bottom shelf. Two defects on a brand new piece were too many for me. I packed things back up and returned the package to my local Target. The return process was excellent and the person who assisted me was very apologetic.For those who wish to give this product a chance, on the positive side, it is a clever design and the wood was a substantial weight - not flimsy. Caution though - I noticed a tube of glue in with the screws so some assembly AND gluing is required. Less
