Quality control?

The product it self is great and serves the purpose of what it’s for. The quality of the product received was awful. I know the price usually lets you know the quality of an item but this was ridiculous.. there we so many dings and chunks of the wood missing. Also I get that there will be some delivery handling that may be a factor but that was not it.. this product was packed like this. I truly needed this item for my house if not I would have returned it because it’s just sad the way they sold this item like it was in good condition.. I think quality control needs to be a bit more on top of these items, especially since it’s not a tiny purchase.

Not worth it!

When I purchased this, I knew it was the pressed wood material so I took extra care trying to put it together. It still split in several places using handtools only. I had to use wood glue and clamps to fix those pieces. The piece itself took myself and another adult over 4 hours to put together. The drawer doesnt close all the way and where there are to be 3 screws on each of the metal drawer slides, there are only 2. Its gets the job done for the most part, we only needed it to free up some counter space in a tiny kitchen.

A Piece of Crap

Do not buy this product. Cheaper than a child's kitchen play set and that is about the size of it and how sturdy it is. Afraid to move it even though it has wheels for fear it might fall apart. We bought the smallest microwave and it barely fits on the cart. So upset with product. It's going back to Walmart.

Worst furniture purchase I've ever made!

Pieces came out of box dirty and have major scuff marks. Pilot holes were not evenly drilled so the drawer sits uneven. Pilot holes were not evenly drilled so the bottom cabinet doors won't line up right regardless of adjustments. Handles are plastic. and there's no hole in the backing for appliance cords to run through. not happy at all.

I followed the instructions exactly. I have assembled knocked down furniture many times. The doors do not close properly and the drawer does not close all the way. I tried to make adjustments, but nothing worked. I am keeping it because it does what I need it to do. In the future maybe adjust the holes for the hardware.

I only recommend someone buying this if you’re extremely talented at putting things together. When the package arrived the styrofoam was in pieces causing a big mess! The instructions and some of the pics are very vague. It’s not at all informal like it should be. The railing for the drawer should be longer so the drawer could actually close all the way. A lot of it was a guessing game to put together.

Poorly made product

Very cheaply made. When I opened it, the foam packing material was so brittle as if it had sat for years in the warehouse. I had a mess everywhere from the foam disintegrating. Number stickers to indicate part was missing on several pieces so you had to up use best judgement. Finally get it all together and realize it's too small for a normal size microwave. these must be meant for 700watt units. It was not deep enough. I would not recommend purchasing this product. Also the doors have a gap, else at the edges or in the center either way you adjust and the drawer guides do not allow it to close fully.

No hole for the cord?!?!?!

Unless you really dont have the money to get something at a higher quality in town, like I didn't, I honestly would not recommend. A lot cheaper then it looks. The most frustrating part was that there isn't any hole for the microwave cord can go through!!! Its a MICROWAVE CART!! Cad to carve out my own. Very frustrating.

Do not recommend - Wobbles and Leans.

The photos on this are amazing until you get the box. It looks like it was returned and damaged on the outside. Then we get to building which is going okay, it took way too long. Started to finally build the cart and we noticed it wobbles and leans to one side. We went back and tightened everything and no it wobbles and leans. So we added the drawer and first it was sticking out a little and we refixed the track and it still sticks out and isn’t even flush. We thought maybe adding the hutch on top will balance it out and nope. Still wobbles and leans. We are scared it will fall on our 4 year old we honestly don’t feel safe to put our microwave on it. We don’t even want it our because, we are afraid one touch it’ll fall over and break. Going to try to return it or something. It’s poorly made and a huge safety hazard. Wouldn’t even put out if I was alone.

Caution: profane language likely during assembly.

The red flags started showing up as soon as I opened the box. The cheap crappy packing styrofoam seemed to crumble just by looking at it. I had to spend a half-hour vacuuming up the small crumbs of styrofoam that clung to everything it touched all through the box. Then the array of pieces to assemble. Unpacked, it looked like enough material to build a small house. But the worst was yet to be revealed.., the hopelessly unclear assembly instructions and nearly useless diagrams, along with the pieces that were unidentifiable. Somehow, I was able to assemble the piece, but it took much longer than it should have. Now that it’s done, it’s not bad for the price, but if I had it to do over again, I’d pass on this one and look for something else.

Not worth the price

I believe this would be priced better at $45 max. It's provides the basic function of storage. However, the cart is weighed down enough by my microwave that it doesn' t move with ease and seems like it is breaking with little force- the whole thing leans from side to side when I move it. The thin drawer liner came bent and the bottom part came chipped as is easy for particle board- I think mine came used and the last purchaser tried to cram it on after it was fully pieced together- as I also didn't notice the piece til after I finished but decided it looked ok without it. What doesn't look ok is the screw nipples you're suppose to pop on to cover the screws since they are bright gold. They ought to forget the covers and provide black screws, it looks like random leaches all over your cart and they aren't flush with the cart nor snuggly secured. The caster wheels don't work great and the drawer holes were not placed properly, I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get the drawer tracks in a better position. Even then I have to give a hard push for it to close, it otherwise will only close as far as (see pic). This cart is not really worth it's price in my opinion.

instructions do not match

A couple of the wood pieces are not labed, but by process of elimination it can be figured out which is the one you need. I can put these type of things together with proper directions. I got to step 2 and the picture on the instructions say you have to use 3 screws to attach the door hardware but there are only 2 holes. It is the sides so kinda of stuck at this spot. All the other holes are showing on the pieces so i know it's the right spot that is missing the hole. I don't have power tools, nor do I know how to use them anyway. So now it is Sunday, Hodedah doesn't have any kind of help on their website and are closed until Monday. I had this shipped so can't take it back to the store as it was a gift. And, I have parts spread all over my living room. The color is nice though and it is about average quality for this type of stand

Good sturdy microwave cart.

After I purchased this microwave cart I decided to look at the reviews and the majority reviews were bad. I felt I had made a mistake purchasing this cart so I called a good friend who is around in his 70’s, but a jack of all trades, to assemble this cart. I told him it would probably be a challenge for him. When he came over and opened the box, to my amazement, nothing was missing and everything looked great...no broken pieces, no scratches. The back panel even had two holes for the microwave cord, one on the left, and one on the right. I was surprised to see that too cause the one I purchased, the picture showed no hole or holes in the back panel. Anyway, my friend didn’t bother looking at the instructions and just used his common sense by separating and laying out the parts. I was amazed at how fast he put it together and the result was just great. It looks beautiful and perfect in my kitchen. I’m so happy I purchased it! Just what I was looking for. I definitely give it a five rating.

Cute but would not recommend

This item was gifted to me for my first home. When the package arrived, most of the wood pieces had scratches on them and some of the pieces were not labeled properly. Instructions were very confusing. 8 hours later (with breaks in between), the final result was not worth the time or money. Not only were there scratches along the entire left side of the cart, but the drawer would not close properly and the cabinets did not close flushly either. To add, there is no cut out for a plug for a microwave which is not very helpful in serving its purpose... I would take it back but it is already put together so I just used some magic marker to cover the scratches, will cut out my own hole for the microwave plug, and will screw in a stopper to shut the cabinet drawers properly. I wanted to love this badly, but I am disappointed. Would not recommend.

Fits the Purpose

Mine is white with wood trim. Was forewarned about assembly and quality problems because I read the reviews. A professional cabinet maker assembled it for me. He stated that it was difficult, but he did a fine job. The cabinet suits the purpose for which it was purchased. The one thing I hadn't expected was the drawer bottom being fiberboard. I could have had a thin wood base installed, but changed out what was planned to inhabit the drawer to equally suitable but lighter weight items. Wood trim matches other wood trim in kitchen. Obtained higher quality designer handles. Ended up wishing I had a place to display the cabinet so when someone casually entered the kitchen it would be noticed. As the cabinet maker said "it's cute."

Good Cart With Caveats

I bought the chocolate/gray version of this cart because previously I had 2 very old microwave carts - one for a microwave and one for a toaster. Now I got rid of them and have the microwave cart in the slot and the toaster on top.

Putting it togehter

There was no instruction manual on putting it together. I called Home Depot and they emailed one to me. I printed it and went forward. The manual says it is for that model; looks nearly the same. But, I have to say it is missing the section dealing with the rounded front pieces to the top and the shelf for the microwave. It also uses numbers for the screw/nail bags when the bags are done with numbers. Ditto for all the actual pieces of the microwave cart. Some of the bags had the wrong number of screws/nails for the intended purpose. We measured many of them to figure out which they were because of the number/alphabetical issue. Spent many minutes trying to figure out solutions to these shortages of parts. All of this made it incredibly difficult to figure out what was what and how to put it together. One of the most difficult put togethers from a manual I have ever done due to these serious glitches.

GREAT MICROWAVE CART, THROW THE DIRECTIONS OUT!

FIRST OF ALL, LET ME SAY, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE MICROWAVE CART. IT IS STURDY AND LOOKS GREAT IN MY SON'S KITCHEN. PUTTING IT TOGETHER WAS ANOTHER STORY, BUT DON'T LET THAT SCARE YOU AWAY. IN MY OPINION, IT'S THE BEST CART ON THE INTERNET FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU SPEND.
