Perfect replacement of broken slant jar

We use it to store bulk spices in bags. We refill the spice jars from these bags.

I love the lid and the whole container itself is well made and keeps things fresh inside. I've put oatmeal packets and candy inside and it kept it fresh for a long time.

Awesome jar!

I absolutely love this jar however I would not have paid the high price if I didn't have a gift card. I found it at 20.00 cheaper on Amazon. I'm using it to store items iny craft room. I read reviews where people said it was hard to put the bale handle on. My husband had little problems attaching it.

Would buy again

Pretty enough to keep on any counter. Using it to hold my K-cups. Coud be used in the kitchen, bathroom, or office. Like that you can stand on its bottom or side. This would make a great hostess or housewarming gift.

Great item for making your own Limoncello

I purchased these Jars to make some home made Limoncello for my daughter's wedding. The size is great because you can make a large quantity of Limoncello at one time and these jars are easy to clean and sanitize.

As Advertised

I wanted some large, glass, sealed containers for flour, sugar and corn meal storage. These are going to be perfect. Walmart only had 2 at the time I ordered,,but Amazon had the same thing at the same price. The handles are a bit of a puzzle to put on, but my husband, handyman that he is, figured them out pretty quick. I expect to get many years of use out of these.

Do Not Loose The Lid!

Do not loose the lid because I can not find a replacement lid for the 2.5 gallon jar. Other than the lack of a replacement lid, I am happy with this jar. I have placed whole lemons into the jar to preserve them. The jar has thick glass, so that provides more protection when moving the jar. The item ships in an individual cardboard box, and since I ordered multiple 2.5 gal jars, each box was safely packed in an over box. Keep the jar in the individual box if not needed because then you can stack the box for storage. The handle is packed inside the jar. I just lug these around w/o the handle because I believe it is safer when the jar is heavy with items.

Solid and strong add silicon to make it airtight

This is my second 2.5 gal jar from Anchor Hocking. Using them for making liniment. With addition of Silicone in the lid the jar becomes airtight.

Eh needs improvement

The glass where it is seamed will cut your hands. The cheaply made Chinese lid doesnt fit right so every time you go to put the hub away whatever is in it spills out. The nice thing is that with your hands all cut up the liquid spilling out washes the blood off for you.

Poor packaging, no handle, one jar shattered

I ordered 4 received 3 one was shattered no handle with it. The other two one had a handle on it the other didn't. Sent message to seller I still have not received a handle for one of them. I can not get any of the handles to fit on the jars. The handles should already be on the jars when they arrive I paided enough for them to be put on them. Not happy. The metal for the handles is to long to go in the holes to fit together. They did send me the Two jars I was owed still no handle for the one jar. Poor packaging job is why the jar was broken. They used air bags and they was all flat when I opened the box of 3 jars the first to arrive. Still have not received a return label whitch I have requested the same day that I got the 3 jars!!!!!!

Loose lid

I would love this if there was some sort of rubber ring around the lid. The lid just jiggles around loosely. So if you need this to seal in freshness, keep looking! I'm using this to hold coffee k cups and there's plenty of room which is nice.

2.5 gal Glass Barrel Jar - Heavy duty and Well Made

The jar arrived double boxed and wrapped which protected it from any damage during transit. The jar did not have any manufacturing flaws in it - such as air bubbles. Also, the glass is thick which should make it resistant to breakage during normal use. The lid fit a little loose, but it won't be used in my application.

Good and would recommend. There are complaints that this jar is thin in some areas. I would say that it is standard in thickness to a regular jar - however taking into consideration its size and added weight when liquid contents are stored - I can see how standard thickness may not be enough.

I'm so glad I found this size which I have been looking for so long. I was looking something not so big not so small, so when I saw the actual appearance, I ordered it the same day. I'm so happy when it arrived 'cuz it came intact, no cracks. it's juz the right size for me to preserve my meats, I can put as much as I want and be ready for winter. Thank you Walmart for selling this amazing product!

Handle Is a Nightmare to Get On

Attractive jug, but the handle did not come on it...it came with lousy instructions and it was impossible to get on with two people working on it as per the instructions. We finally had to break out needle nose pliers and extra wire to make it work. The entire handle install took us over an hour (and we're good at stuff like that typically!). I think this is an okay jug otherwise, but I'd not buy another one!

I have gotten 5 of these over the past couple years. The shipping was on time and even a little early for one of them. Having not had any problems with broken glass each time. Out of two of them, the top of the glass where the aluminum lid screws on was made partly slanted so it doesn't quite close very well.

Great but this quality control issue happened....

It was broken!

I had this shipped to the local store and when I got it home and opened it to wash and use it, the top was broken that the lid screws onto. It had a chunk broken off! I had to drive almost an hour to pick it up and yes, I should've unscrewed the lid to check it before I left with it but I figured it would be fine since it was brand new. I won't be ordering another one. Was out my money I paid for it, gas to go pick it up, and my time driving to the store. Very disappointed. Make sure to check it if you have it delivered to your house or shipped to the store before you accept it.

Weak Barrel Jar

We use this product in a composite sampler for water testing. The jars were purchased to replace some older ones. Apparently, they are not made with the same grade or quality of glass as older ones. After one use, and a bump on the bottom of the jar, it is now cracked (not just a surface crack) all the way through and leaks. Now is no longer useable.
