It measures rain. Hard to get excited about. If you could now make it rain, I could get some usage from it.
Have only had 12.5 inches of rain in over 2 years. So I don’t really know why I need 3 rain gauges??

The glass test tube that came with my older rain gauge had broken and I was thrilled to find a replacement at Walmart!!

Item way too small and difficult to find a place to use it
Not any more.
Base used to be metal, now it's plastic. Plastic weathers, dries out and cracks. Too bad. Better to keep price up than cheapen your product with plastic base. Bad move. Person who made that decision should be fired.

When the errant storm comes through and breaks the tube, a spare on hand means uninterrupted monitoring.
Plastic and NOT glass. I returned it.
This is a neat device. It is fun to compare my reading with the official report. Be careful with the glass tube since it it easily broken.
