This mat is thinner than expected, but I liked the look of it. But it tore apart right after the 90 day return expired.

[Rewarded Review] Safety in the Bathtub

I have always used an extra measure of safety in my bathtub when taking a shower, by adding to it a Bath Mat. Bathtubs have a tendency to get very slippery and if I can avoid a slip and fall by putting in a Mat Bath I will. This bath mat measures 27 X 15 inches. It is suitable for a bathtub as well as a shower. It has a bubble motif on the top with suction cups underneath, so it will not slide around in the shower. There are also drainage holes in it and you can machine wash it also.

Upon opening the mat, I couldn’t help noticing how beautiful (sparkling) it is. It fits nicely in my 5-foot-long cast-iron tub. I like how the drainage is built in the design by using the space between the circles. It suctions nicely to our slick cast-iron tub and stays in place. I like the size of it; large enough for my big feet but small enough to easily machine wash. I really like that it is machine washable and is comfortable to step on.

Falls are no joking matter, especially among 5 and under and 65 and older. While these two groups have the most injuries from bathroom falls, the CDC states that all age groups are represented in bathroom falls! The first or second recommendation in most lists of how to prevent bathroom falls is to place slip resistant mats on all floor surfaces that may wet in the bathroom, both inside and outside the tub or shower. I like AMG’s PVC Bath Mat; I like the design and its construction. The mat we got looks like a bubble storm! AMG calls it slip resistant, which I think is better than calling a mat slip proof. I’ve used bath mats for the last 3 decades, and all the mats I have used have one weakness… if you put a lateral pressure on the edge of the mat, they will slide sideways (think, “out from under you”), and this AMG mat is no different. That being said, if properly used, this mat is slip-resistant; if you keep the pressure you exert on it vertical there is no or very little slippage. The bubble pattern is like walking on a foot massager. The bubbles are solid, and do not pop like bubble-wrap, but are smooth and comfortable to stand or step on. One other neat use for this mat would be as a privacy film on a bathroom window, the light and color patterns projected through it are beautiful.
