Really like this canopy
Needs two people to set up, but not difficult. We use it for camping and occasionally for outdoor shade at home. Holds up well. Keeps off rain, allows for ventilation.
very durable!
I purchased the 13'X13' model #20000004409 over 15 years ago. I used it many times at Table Rock Lake in Missouri ad different Lakes in Kansas, about 3 weeks ago we were camping at El Dorado Lake and a big storm came up, I did not have time to take the canopy down, we got hit with 50 to 60 mph winds, my canopy was twisted, but it did not break!! I had each leg anchored with 5 gal bucket filled with water, only 1 bucket fell over. I am still amazed that it didn't break!
GARBAGE
VERY POOR QUALITY, I BOUGHT IT, USED IT TWICE AND IT BROKE EVERYWHERE. TOTAL GARBAGE. IT IS NOT AT THE LEVEL OF OTHER COLEMAN PRODUCTS. IN ADDITION, IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY... VERY BAD COLEMAN.
Don't buy, no replacement parts
Use for camping and parties. Any breeze and the thing takes off, even if tied and staked. That's ok but if the parts bend or the corner of the canopy has a hole from the poles, you can't repair it because they don't sell the parts. Other companies sell replacement parts to fix the canopy. If Coleman thinks this will just make me buy another one they are crazy, we will buy from a company that sells the parts. This item, no matter who makes it always runs the risk of a wind blowing it over! Should be prepared for that!
Lasts a lifetime, if used properlly
Great product, easy set up, awesome coverage and all around great purchase. I've had mine for 5 years and it still working great. I'm a D.J. and in the summer I have lots of bookings outside. It has been set up and taken down thousands of times and is STILL flawless! Just wish I could get walls for it.
Great durable structure
We have bought this shelter now for the fourth time. We leave it up all year in Southern California. Lasts about two years before we replace it. Love it! It can lower down for when the winds come through .
This is easy to transport! It’s also easy to set up and take down! We use this for camping trips and it’s really come in handy. Coleman has never failed me, quality products that last!
The Coleman 13 x 13 canopy is great to bring to the beach or park to not receive too much sun. It covers a large space, is fairly easy to assemble with 2 people, and is portable. I unfortunately have it in my storage at the moment, so I can't show how great it is, but I highly recommend it!
Coleman has no shame - you can't embarrass them.
Keep on shipping crap - then when people complain, you respond with a canned statement. I used to love Coleman, and I will be sad to learn of any US or Canada layoffs, but as you continue to ship the lowest quality product, I won't be surprised to see you file for Chapter 11 at some point - e.g. when Costco tosses you to the curb. Who was it in Coleman finance that made the decision to use the cheapest canopy material possible -- save $1, lose a customer - great strategy,
Frame - strong as heck, Fabric is tissue paper
This is a close to the Costco model that Coleman will show. The metal frame is top notch, no complaints - will last for years. Coleman went cheap on the fabric this year. Between sun and wind (light) expect the canopy to be of value for 5 months, and then to be garbage (fabric) and attempted recycling (frame). If Coleman is ever to claim they are ESG/Green focused, they MUST sell replacement canopy fabric. Until then, they are part of the problem. Yes, I'm very frustrated Coleman made the financial decision to be cheap.
Terrible Quality
Purchased the Coleman Oasis canopy. It is NOT UV protected. The canopy disintegrated in shreds within 4 months. Returned for a replacement. Same thing happened within 6 months. Terrible quality.
Poor quality material
Picked this nice awning up in May 2023 for our camping season this summer. Unfortunately the canopy material has torn along the seams. One side hasa tear of about 15 inches and the other side is torn about 6 inches. The canopy is 3 months old. Very dissappointed with my first Coleman.
Poor quality parts.
Pretty poor quality, which is disappointing coming from Coleman. Purchased new from a retail store only 1 month ago. The leg extensions don’t lock into place so it’s perpetually stuck at half height, and when getting it out for only the second time, one of the linkages that connect the peak of the frame to the edge of the frame completely shattered.
Didn't last long.
We bought this to take to the beach. After only 4 uses the metal frame snapped while setting it up. In 15 years and have only needed to buy a couple canopies. This purchase barely made a year and was barley used.
Legs dont lock securely
Easy setup for two people, but if theres a slight breeze that makes it move just the slightest, it lowers itself. Like the locking mechanism isnt strong enough or maybe theres a manufacturing flaw there. Just returned it.
Replacement Canopy needed but not available
After 2 years, our first canopy started to break down and I could not get a replacement canopy. The frame was just fine. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying a new pop up shelter last Spring. This winter, mice chewed holes in it in my shed. I would love to get a replacement canopy, but they still don't seem to be available. Why? I now have two perfectly good frames that I would love to get canopies for and can't.
Coleman does not care
Have owned two of these. First one lasted for years. Replaced it with a new one November 2022. Canopy material feels thinner and the frame felt wobbly. Set it up at thanksgiving and a gust of wind picked it up and tossed it across the backyard. Landed on the concrete and scrubbed holes in the canopy. While the wind is not Coleman’s fault it is their fault that they haven’t made the canopy available as a replacement item. They have been making this tent for years and people have been begging for replacement canopy for years. There is zero reason I should throw a brand new frame in the landfill when Coleman could just sell me a new canopy and I could continue to use this tent. THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE THE LAST COLEMAN TENT I PURCHASE.
Bad quality don’t waste your money
Pretty much same experience as everyone else. After about a month I was already starting to notice little tears in the canopy. After a year the canopy is completely destroyed and unusable. The frame seems well made and is easy to set up, but without a canopy (or even at least a replacement to purchase) what’s the point. Save your hard earned money or spend it elsewhere.
This is such a perfect canopy for family/friend events at the park or backyard. It’s almost too easy to put up, and is so big it provides all the shade you need. I’ve used it to easily fit a big folding table and 8 chairs under it without anyone feeling crammed, it really makes a difference to have a huge amount of shade like that!
Canopy - no replacement!
The third season of use, the canopy tore when putting it up. As the canopy weathers it appears to become more brittle over time. So don’t plan to get more than 2 years out of this canopy. Very disappointed that no replacement canopy is available; how wasteful when the frame is perfectly good.
