Grill Lid does not close

The flat top grill sits too high, and the lid of the grill does not close when the flat top grill is used. Very disappointed.

Swagtop griddle top

Great addition for having a full griddle top on Coleman road-trip, but I didn’t like the way the tabs on the bottom put the griddle way up away from the burners, and I had trouble closing the lid with this griddle in place. It’s possible I just ordered the wrong model for my grill

It is a great concept but very poorly designed.

I go camping often and use my road trip grill. It does not allow the lid to close which is a big problem on breezy days. It slides around in the base of its little legs and tilts and spills grease into the flame area. The non-stick is already starting to flake off after 1 use when using plastic spatula.

Good but needs design improvements

Decent griddle plate, However the legs/stands that it sits on the body of the grill aren't big enough or spaced properly, if it is pushed to front or back enough the edge of the griddle will fall into the body of the grill. Also you can not close the lid with this on.

Colman Grill top

I Love this Swaptop for my Colman 285 grill

We use this in conjunction with the Coleman 2 Burner Portable Propane Grill and it has made breakfast when camping/traveling a breeze! We swap the grate out and put this one on, it's very easy to swap in and out and distributes heat just as you would expect it too. I'd say it's a pretty even heat, but I'm not the person you'd want that kind of confirmation for. Our pancakes seem to be cooked throughly without it being wonky and uncooked so I'd say the heat is pretty even. It's easy to pop off and clean and store and that also is a bonus for us as a family!

Swap top

Swap top griddle doesnt quite fit on the new grill. No shutting the cover there.

If you have a road trip grill and want to griddle it's very convienient. I have a colemant road trip 285 grill and also a road trip XLT griddle when I don't want to take both I just take the griddle plate it works good

nice griddle BUT

This griddle would be great...if it stayed on the grill....we have tried many different ways to keep it from tipping backwards, but it does every time. Last time we put if directly on the grill with the grills themselves and that helped, but you cant close the lid if you are cooking something like potatoes...soo all in all I would give it a 3 star!

Ok

This grill top could be so much better. First for the price it should come with a carrying case. Second it doesn’t fit the grill and allow you to close the top. So I was cooking breakfast and accidentally closed the lid a bit and bacon grease went everywhere!

GRIDDLE Usage

Love the griddle, cooked sausage, onions and peppers together on it. Cooked bacon on it next, and it worked great. The only downfall is you can't close the lid while cooking

Fits...somewhat

Just got it. Bought it in kind of a rush, forgot to read reviews about it not fitting. I found out if you turn it backwards and take out the drip pan it sorta fits and the top closes for the most part

Aluminum griddle

Traditional aluminum griddle! Thank goodness it’s not cast iron. No one would be able to lift it. Works great

Good for me

It's heating up fast and non stick surface is really doing it's job. I like this one over cast iron because is faster and with 1lb propane tank don't have to worry about uneven temperature. Is prefect for my family and fits well my Coleman Roadtrip.

Grill's Lid Won't Close with This

I have the big roadtrip model (red color with deep lid) & found that this griddle has a major design flaw in that you cannot close the grill lid with the griddle in use. The other disappointing thing about this is that it isn't cast iron.

Does not Fit Road Trip Classic

This is a great cooking surface, but it does not fit securely on a Road Trip Classic grill. It slips out of place and tilts while you are cooking which is extemely dangerous if you are cooking bacon! Also, the surface scratches VERY easily if you aren't careful, even with non metallic utensils.

A must have when going camping. Nothing like fresh eggs and bacon over a camp fire. Could definitely be better if it came in a larger size!!! Keeper for sure. The price is on point and would recommend it to anyone who needs a good griddle for camping trips.

Ordered this to go with the Coleman grill. It worked perfectly. If I could change one thing, I wish the grill top were still able to close with the griddle attachment on but was not a huge issue. Happy with the purchase

Burn hazzard

Used this griddle for the 1st time camping to cook bacon and eggs. The channel became so filled with grease it was a burn Hazzard. It would be better if the grease could channel down into the grill. Used it for eggs and it was fine. Going to return it for the 2 separate griddle pieces as they have holes for the grease to channel down into the grill. Not happy with this purchase.
