Provides great shade for my backyard.

This sun shade is well made, seems like it will be durable, and was super easy to put up in my backyard. Great product, NS i will definitely buy this again. Mine works great as I don’t need or want total coverage of my little yard, but purchasers should know that the product is not really rectangular, but curves in by about 1.5 feet on all 4 sides. In other words, while the corners are 13’x20’ as advertised, the sides are really just 10’x17. In my little patio-home backyard, this gives enough space to have a little garden or potted plants. I would therefore advise people to get a size bigger than they think they want/need.

Bright Orange Color!

So I just installed this bright orange sail shade as a temporary sail shade since the goal here is to eventually get a commercial quality shade. I paid < $50 for this so here are my assessments based on that price. Also, I bought an undersized shade since the next step up was $100 dollars more.

Great waterproof sunshade

I just went to clear heavy sleet/ice/snow off and it shredded the fabric. However that is after 15 months of continuous use taking abuse from freezing temps, intense sun, severe winds, and hail (welcome to iowa). We use it in an open structure to cover our outdoor hot tub from sun and rain alike. Works very well for this purpose. Can collect water if pitch not steep enough (around 3 in 12 works well). If you try to install flat it won? work and just fill with water. I also added a center support along the slope to help with sticky snow load. So for $60 for the 14x14 size I got 15 month of use. $4 a month seems reasonable to keep shaded and dry in the hot tub.

Perfect for weather proofing our chicken run ??

Bought this to go over our chicken run so our babies can run around when it rains and to give them shade on hot days. I bought a pack of carabiner keychain hooks to attach to the run cage and it? worked perfectly through many storms. Our roof is pitched and I made sure to pull the tarp tightly so water doesn? collect on top. I saw a few reviews where they said the fabric is stretchy and collected water like a bucket...if you pull the material taut and angled (like they show you in their photos) you shouldn? have that issue. Water is meant to run off this material, not sit on top so if you install it on a flat surface with any kind of open space, of course it will collect and possibly stretch the material. Installed correctly, you shouldn? have any issues. This was definitely worth every penny.

great shade and came with inst booklet!!

very happy with this shade sail, appears very well made with good stitching and steel corner rings for easy attachment. i am using this as a side to my deck for screen and late afternoon sun blocking because i had to take down a lovely shade tree too close to house. loved the instruction booklet that came with it even though i wasn't using for overhead installation, still very informative. may need them if umbrella i ordered doesn't work out. easily created 2 posts from 2"square wood cut to length (thanks hm dep), stained to match deck, and then attached to decking posts already in place after i put eye screws in the top of the 2" posts. attached shade sail rings to posts with carabiners and used bungee cords for lower attachment to deck posts. turned out great!! quick delivery and well packaged. would buy from seller again.

Does a great job!

This has certainly lowered the afternoon temperatures on my back patio. I recommend this to anyone who needs some shade. The rain will pass through it (eventually) without puddling too much, but will come down at the low point, which in my case made a little ditch in the yard. Something to consider. When mounting it, use hardware and polyester rope which will stand the strain. You need to pull it pretty tight, and the wind will move it around a lot. Go oversize with your mounting, and you won't have to do it twice. After fooling around with a mounting kit recommended by ColourTree, I threw it away and used 1/4" polyester rope, pulleys, and cleats. Mount the pulleys up high, and the cleats under them where you can easily adjust everything from the ground. Leave enough extra rope so that you can lower the sun shade all the way to the ground without having to climb a ladder and thread the rope back through the pulleys the next time you put it up. Use carabiner style clips on the end of the ropes to connect to the shade. From a guy who got tired of climbing ladders.

I know this intended to be a sun shade, but I had a different idea in mind. I'm in the woods in the Pacific Northwest and I have a nice old Chevy pickup that is parked outside year 'round. All the debris that falls from the trees as well as the rain lands on the truck so it's really tough to keep it clean and dry. There are plenty of tall trees to tie the corners to with ropes, so I decided to use the sun shade as a rain and leaf shade.
