2 Different Types of Wood

Wish my contractor had said something earlier. Just spoke with him. I wanted it stained an espresso color. He’s having trouble finding one that will work. Actually doesn’t think any stain will turn out one solid color as the matel is made out of 2 different types of wood & is of poor quality. You get what you pay for. The area to be finished also has a lot of glue from your construction process that needs to be sanded off to take stain. We’re just going to paint it black. Should have returned.

The details did not show that the bottom of the mantel had a lip.

Ok product for price, look it over carefully

The first one had a milling problem with the trim detail near the shelf that was visible after installation. Had to order a new one to replace it.

Good quality for the price

Was satisfied with the mantle and looks great hanging. Some reviews mentioned the white was just primer but looks just fine without another coat of paint. For the price, you’d expect a cheap composite (especially these days) so the pine was a nice step up.

Hanging hardware not included. This was buried on their website, and not immediately available. The mantel itself would have been nice to hang -- but having to purchase the appropriate hardware to hang it, would have been expensive!!
