Works for us

This is the only mini refrigerator that has dimensions that fit are space. We are happy with it, and hope Avanti continues to make this model for a long time.

Great Quiet Unit

I had one of these before. It stopped working after 7 or 8 years and it could be my fault. I always ran it fairly cold and put a piece of cardboard on one shelf. I use mine for essential oils and the smaller bottles don't work good on the racks, hence the cardboard. I could have been restricting air flow. On this new unit I put the smaller bottles on the bottom and the larger on the rack. If you need to add a shelf use something flat with perf holes in it to allow for air flow. I love this frig. and believe treated right will last a long time. I have also reduced the temp set to low so it keeps my oils chilled and quite cool not very cold which it is capable of. I recommend this cooler for your misc cooling needs. As a real refrigerator, I can't comment because I have never used as such.

Not bad little refridgerator

Wonder small size. We needed small fridge to keep beverages in. Soda's, juice, beers etc. Holds a fair amount. Nice not having the small freezer that allows more room. Takes a while longer to initially cool down. Being able to change door hinges is a plus for location.

Worst Purchase Ever

I bought the first Avanti 1.7 Cu. Ft. Superconductor Refrigerator two months ago and it never worked. I had too buy a new box and sent it back. I got my second frig and it worked for about 2 weeks and totally quit. I had to send it back. I have gone to a lot of trouble with these two appliances. You would be crazy to buy one.

Great little office refrigerator

I use the little narrow (17"wide) quiet refrigerator at work where space is limited. This is not a compressor-based refrigerator so room temp is important. It's not meant to freeze ice cubes or store other frozen items. My office temp is between 70 to 74 degrees so the fridge works quite well maintaining 33 degrees. I keep a fridge thermometer inside just to make sure my lunch, fruit and drinks are ok. I only have had this guy for a few months and am pleased with it so far. Let's hope this newer superconductor technology will hold up in this little refrigerator. I want it to last until I retire - 10 years?

Does the job.

I bought this refrig to hold water and soft drinks. I have the temp on the coldest setting and the temp is around 40 degrees. Not as cold as I thought it would get but it works ok for my purpose. I like that there is no freezer to take up space and no compressor taking up space. I also like that it has an interior light. Also, I have no issues with the packing. The refrig was double boxed and there was no damage.

a must have.

I purchased this unit about two and a half weeks ago. So far I have had no problems with it whatsoever as a matter of fact I'm very pleased with this purchase. This unit is completely quiet it stays cool, it's easy to clean, it keeps my food nice and fresh while I Drive across the country in my semi each week, so that tells me is a well-built unit because its riding in a semi across country bouncing around but yet its still working perfectly. If you have a use for a cooler or refrigerator this one is definitely a must have. :-)

Great for our needs!

We decided to get rid of the old garage frig that ran constantly and replace it with a small frig to keep extra beverages cold. We wanted an all refrigerator/no freezer model small enough to sit on top of our chest freezer.This refrigerator fit the bill perfectly. It keeps beverages cold, is quiet and doesn't suck up electricity. The power savings will probably pay for the appliance in a year and we don't have to worry about leaking or electrical hazards of an OLD frig. It holds quite a bit and cools quickly...even when the garage is 95 degrees! We're very happy with our purchase.

not good for vaccines

This was bought for storage of vaccines in a medical office with only one doctor. Very little room is needed so this refrigerator seemed perfect because it is small and does not have a freezer in it and thus wouldn't have the defrost cycle that makes those refrigerators unsuitable for vaccinations. However, the controller for this refrigerator goes through a warm up cycle of at least an hour long exactly every 37 hours just as if it had a freezer and needed to do the auto defrost. Because of this it is very difficult to get the temperature adjusted correctly so that it won't be too cold when it is not going through its useless defrost cycle, and too warm when it is cycling through the defrost. Very frustrating purchase. It would be fine for other uses, but certainly overpriced if you don't want to store vaccines in it.
