Monarch desk - material is thinner than expected

The construction is not as sturdy as I expected. It also recommended glueing the parts together. I didn’t do this as I would like to have the option of taking it apart if needed. Otherwise, we like it.

Absolutely love our new desk. We needed a desk for my daughter’s remote learning but didnt have alot of space. So this was perfect. Love the adjustable shelves for keeping everything nice and organized. Assembly was fairly easy between 2 people. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect for back to school

Very sturdy. I bought two for each of my kids going back to school. The design is great. It let me reverse the table so the desks are mirrored. I like that the shelves are adjustable. My kids are going to love it!

Not best but an ok product

It's ALWAYS in the price isn't it folks. It's $250+ so here we go.

We bought this when my daughter was 10 years and she is still using it at - she recently turned 16 years old. It is on the small size which was perfect since it does not take too much space yet has tones of storage. We have moved homes and moved states. This has travelled with us and has been reassembled through our move which tells me that it is good quality. Be careful about paint/ colored pen marks, they do not come off easily. If we keep this for another couple of years, we may have to paint it over.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the desks, nice value for the money. They are the perfect size for our teens, and relatively easy to assemble. The desk portion is attached by two screws. We used one and were able to slide the desk portion out a few more inches for the added space.

I purchased this desk over two years ago for my teenage daughter. It was very easy to assemble and has lasted with significant amounts of books and papers on the shelves and desk. She has left water on the top of the desk and it did bubble a little bit but with drying it seems to of gone down pretty nicely. It still looks very very white, and fits beautifully in the corner next to her bed.

The perfect size!

This desk is for my 9-year old & it's the perfect size for her. I was nervous about fitting a desk with the end cubbies into her already "crammed" room and although it looks big in the picture, it isn't...you really need to look at the dimensions in the listing & grab a tape measure to measure your space before you buy. Shipping was very fast & all pieces were in great condition on arrival. Took my husband @ 2 hours to assemble (I would recommend having an electric drill on-hand if you have one). I also like the fact that we also have the option to switch the direction of the desk in the future. And let's not forget the sliding keyboard tray underneath - this definitely helps free up desk space - my daughter's laptop fits perfectly.

I purchased the file cabinet that goes with this desk and the whole ensemble fits everything I need. The desk and file cabinet were very easy to put together, but definitely follow the directions! The desk is extremely heavy, it did have some very minor damage from shipping, but nothing that showed. The only tip I would offer is that the desk return does not have to be pushed all the way in where you use both bolts to attach. I pulled it out and used only one bolt to secure and it added 9 whole inches to the width of the desk top.

The product arrived to the store on time. It was relatively easy to assemble, and I was able to do it by myself. The instructions (pictures and diagrams) were simple and easily understood. I was looking for a desk that would fit in a 10x10 room and had a finished front. This desk had a right/left choice as well which made it even better for option at placement in the room. The only "negative" thing I can think of is that my large computer monitor won't fit under the shelves off to the side, but since I'm not willing to get a smaller monitor I'm going to live with it. This desk is exactly what I was looking for, in the price range that I was looking, and it is perfect for my needs.

Small office desk

This is a decent solution to a small office space in need of bookshelves and a desk. You do need to be patient and handy to put it together--it took me about an hour and a half. Also, beware: if you don't pay careful attention, it's easy to put the table and keyboard slider in facing the wrong direction so that you're able doesn't fit this into the corner you intended. The pros: there's a lot of space for books, a printer, and knickknacks.

Great storage, building was like a puzzle.

Pros: The desk turned out great! It fits perfectly where I wanted it and the shelves are great for storage. I was getting sick of papers and my school stuff sitting on the counter, table, or my dresser, and the shelves from the desk take care of that (although I have yet to buy some decorative storage baskets!). Another great feature of the desk is that it's reversible. Essentially, you could have the shelving unit to the left or right of the desk, so it's perfect to put in any corner! The desk is also very stable once built. I can shake the desk and it doesn't budge.

Easy to put together, very compact and stylish

This desk has a unique design that we love. It's perfect for my daughter's bedroom. It arrived in a large box that was also bubble-wrapped and taped everywhere, so it was well protected. The only slight annoyance was that there was a lot of little tiny styrofoam pieces inside that stuck to all the pieces, and made a huge mess unpacking. It was easy to put together, and fit really well. My daughter loves it!

Fits Space, But Had Some Damage

I gave this desk/bookcase combo four stars because it fits into a very small space, which was a real challenge. It was easy to assemble and looks good. However, the top of the bookcase shelf had a crack in it and one of the shelves was chipped on the end. I needed a left-hand desk and, luckily, the computer section covered the crack. I'm an artist, so I had supplies to fill in the chip and touch it up with paint. All things considered, I'm happy with the unit and think it will do the job for me.

Don't buy unless you are an expert at carpentry.

Do not believe the other reviews. They were obviously fake, particularly, the one from the mother who put it together in an hour while her children were interrupting her. I ended up throwing the desk in the garbage. It was impossible to put together and just not worth the bother. The instructions are ridiculous; no explanations, just hard to see pictures and tons of parts. Also, the bookshelf part, which is as much as I got together, is much smaller than it looks in the picture. Perhaps if you're an expert at putting things together and don't need instructions, it might work for you.

Glue is old

When assembling the desk, you have to use glue that comes with the pegs and screws. The glue in the box that was sent to me was so old it was a solid mass. I cut open the glue container and it came out in solid form modeled to the shape of the container. Luckily, I do a lot of assemble your self home projects and had some glue on hand. The instructions state: " the provided glue should be used to help solidify the assembled project". So, I am not sure what would happen if I didn't use any glue during the assembly process. Also, the pieces do not come labeled, so it took longer than necessary to assemble because I had to figure out, which piece was which. Just note, if you buy, have at least 2 to 3 hrs to spare and wood glue on hand.

Great Purchase

I read all the reviews prior to purchasing and researched other desks and I must say, I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. This desk is very stylish and sturdy. It was not difficult to put together and I am a mother of 2 small children who was interrupted quite frequently while doing it. Everything is marked, the directions are easy to follow, and one person can put it together in less than one hour. The one and only issue I had was the wood glue was not usable but I had my own to use.
