Flimsy. DO NOT BUY.
This shelving unit was designed to be packaged efficiently by the company and shipped globally at the cheapest possible price. The backing a literally just a piece of thin cardboard with less strength than a carboard cereal box. It ripped before I could nail it to the back during assembly.
DO NOT BUY
I used to work in retail management and have built many furniture sets, grills, bed sets, ect and have never had issues with building anything. This book shelf snapped when I was trying to add on of the sides onto it 10 minutes into the project. I didn't expect this to be a high quality product, but I also did not expect this to break mid build. Please do not waste your money on this. Will be returning.
NOT CORRECT DIMENSIONS!!
It wasn't until AFTER I put 2! of these shelving units together that I realized the depth was wrong. It clearly shows in one of the photos that the depth is 11 inches. It is only 9 3/4 inches. And that includes backing and everything. FALSE ADVERTISING.
It was alright until…
I had this for like two months. The back of the item it’s made of flimsy cardboard, it’s the whole thing that keep it together. Without the cardboard backing it fell apart immediately. I guess I should’ve known for the price… it’s good for lightweight stuff though
very disappointing
When assembling the bookshelf, the back board broke very easily (you can see the 2 lines now, right in the middle of the bookcase), there was dried paint on the outside of one of the boards, and the shelve corners were already flaked off. The board spacer on the bottom also broke several times while assembling the bookcase. Stay away from this product, save your money and buy a better quality somewhere elese.
Flimsy and defective
DO NOT BUY!!
Already broken
I was in the middle of building it and we gotten to the last step of just putting on the backing. Went to stand it up and the whole broke in half. The middle support board also broke into pieces where the screws go so there's no fixing it. We used a drill to make sure everything was tightened. It shouldn't have come apart.
Poor quality and misleading dimensions
We obviously knew the quality would be so so when purchasing, but the sides started splitting when placing the backing onto the shelving so be careful when placing the small nails. Without guides it’s hard to tell and keep the nails straight. The most annoying part is the dimensions are slightly different in the picture than in the actual description which we bought thinking they would fit small totes on the shelves. We measured before hand and after building we noticed measurements were slightly off and the width was different in the actual description.
Shelf👍
You get what you pay for, shelf. Pretty easy to put together if you follow the instructions and is surprisingly decently sized. I bought it to hold my collectables and stuff and it holds it well. Assembly took a while, but that was because I simply skipped a step and sat there confused wondering why I didn't have a piece set up.
Ok for 50 bucks
Mostly ok except the very bottom stabalizer broke the first week. also, the back paneling is of really poor qaulity. it is not flush with the rest of the bookcase. nail placement with the back panel needs to be improved. i dud not have high expectations for 50 dollars. You get what you pay for. Note in case anyone was wondering, this bookcase does arrive in a small box. at first glance i thought i was sent the wrong item. But the whole bookshelf does in fact fit in that little tiny box. you don't need to worry about some giant box arriving at your house.
Cheap material
it is not worth it for the price. Very cheap material. Back of shelves is paper thin foldable carboard. Even after re-tightening the screws the whole thing is flimsy and not sturdy at all. Will mostly like return.
71yo female assembled thr.ee alone. Recommend a helper. Stability is a real issue. I added a pair of L brackets to the bottom of each to avoid buckling. I bought on sale. They are about the quality one would expect at the price I paid. They take care of a current need. Not sure they will survive a move.
Not the best bookshelf
I paid a good amount for this book shelf. The description made me think that it would be sturdy and not like the other cheap shelves. It's was bad! The particle board is cheap and it wasn't easy for me to put together. I worked real hard and it is so wobbly I wouldn't put anything on the shelves. If I had not have thrown the box away I would have defiantly packed it all back up and send it back. 45.00 dollars down the drain.

I purchased two of these bookcase to use down in my daughter's play room. I was hoping to use them as storage for all of her toys to help keep things off the floor and more organized. I purchased one for each side of my wall mounted tv along with a tv stand and they look great. I was able to organize and display all of her toys that were originally kept on the floor and these book shelves were just what I was looking for. I would gladly refer them to anyone and will be buying more once I finish my son's play room to help again with organization.
50/50
I ordered two of this bookshelf, one was fine and what you would expect for such a low price. The other one was awful. One of the pieces was wrong so it just looks awful with one of the sides unfinished/exposed wood. Don't chance it just buy a different one. Also the shelves are held up by little plastic pieces and the over hang in front of the shelf has to be attached by hand and they don't sit flush, so I just took them back off.
The worst thing I have ever bought in my lifetime
This thing was wrong since the very first start. The nail for the base is too hard to install but I manage to set up till the end. It keeps shaking whenever I touch it. I tried to fix again and tighten the screw but still not working. The holes of the nails even get bigger and worse. I have to order another shelf. What am I supposed to do with these useless wooden pieces? Seriously, I just want my money back. Just don’t buy it. Such a nice shelf just like the tower of Pisa.
Fair. Not very sturdy.
It’s pretty cheaply made. Somewhat difficult to assemble because directions are complicated. It will not hold many heavy books so if you’re planning on using it for an actual bookcase, it will likely break. I’m using it for craft storage, so it’s fine for that. Not as deep as I expected. The back panels are very flimsy. One tore before I even had it applied. They’re slightly stronger than cardboard. You have to mail the back panels on and you must be very careful or the nails will go right through and poke out the other side. I guess you get what you pay for.
Backing, materials unacceptable
I ordered the white version. I expected 9.5 inch depth, and received 12 inch depth. While assembling on a vinyl floor, I managed to mar the white finish in a few places. Pressboard is very putty-like. Be extremely careful with the finish. The back is a whole 'nother story - I expected the usual tri-fold masonite panel with tiny nails set-up. The push-in plastic pins were easier to install, but the piece of thin cardboard tore in several spots when I picked the unit up to move it. It never really fit uniformly in the first place. I have probably assembled 20 or so of this type of bookshelf in my lifetime, this one demonstrates a whole new level of low quality materials.

The one plus was that this unit was pretty easy to assemble. The downside was that the surface is too flimsy. Just from putting it together, it already has scratches, and removing the letter stickers ripped off the surface so it has scuffs where ever i tried to gently remove the label stickers. But the worst part is that I bought this because of the measurements listed - inaccurate. I could've gotten a less expensive one in many places. I only got this one because it was supposed to have a depth of about 9.5". Instead, it was the standard depth of about 1 foot. smh. Disappointed.
