[Rewarded Review] Not What It Used To Be.

I had the previous version of this Cuisinart 2-In-1 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately this new version is not what it used to be. My second pot has failed within 4 months. My first one was DOA. Upon taking out of the box I could not change the time, or brew a pot of coffee. I returned immediately in late June and replaced it with another one. Best Buy quickly returned and replaced. The new unit worked properly however has failed in 3 1/2 months. The heating mechanics which drives the pump has failed and the coffee pot side of the appliance no longer works. I'll attempt a warranty claim however 2 units failing within 4 months is not promising.

Updated and Improved Coffee Center

This SS-16Coffee Center is a replacement for an older Coffee Center that we used for several years; an SS-15. There are several improvements in the SS-16. The controls are more intuitive and easier to use.

This thing doesn’t work

Worst coffee making product I’ve ever owned. Throwing it out and buying something else. Waste of money.

Grateful for Fantastic Customer Service!

This is the perfect Cuisinart coffee maker for us! It is exceptionally well-made, brews a delicious carafe or pod of coffee that is steamy hot, and the dual options are great for us for a quick cup or a leisurely breakfast. We know house guests will appreciate the flavor choices with pods, too. Williams Sonoma has a great price-matching program, and we were able to work through some confusion on the part of a few email team employees on the wording of the approved vendors. The phone customer service was great and the lower price was honored. I prefer to order from a company with such a high level of customer service, and I will always check Williams Sonoma first when making purchases. They earned my loyalty!

Stands alone compared to Keurig

I switched to this Cuisinart from a Keurig. The amount of actual coffee from a K-cup using a Kuerig was short of expected settings every time. Often by 30% or more. Same was true for the pot. Set for 12 cups it made only 8. I did 2 full cleanings with no change. The Cuisnart produces the correct number of ounces time and time again. It is faster than the Keurig and the coffee produced is more flavorful. It is also more economical as there were way too many times I need to use a second K-cup to fill my mug.

Ease of use, long term hope...

Seems to be an excellent unit. There is one minor improvement I would make, but for now, we hope the unit will last long term and provide many years of service. At this point we would recommend the unit for all users. Quality seems excellent. Cost was very competitive. Purchased at a Target retailer with many brands available but this unit offered all our option choices. We are senior citizens and use the unit daily. We are a private couple with no affiliation to the product or Cuisinart. We are located in Utah State with plans to move elsewhere.

Cuisinart I'm disappointed

I expected exceptional quality from Cuisinart. I was disappointed. The k-pod side was defective. The plastic needle is not sharp enough to puncture the pod. Exploding pods! Big mess! The special paper filters overflow very easily putting coffee grounds in the carafe. Every coffee maker I have ever owned had a hinged lid on the carafe. The carafe lid has to be completely removed to fill with water. By the way, the carafe drips down the side if you don't pour very slowly. I liked the bold setting and I like to program the start time. Unfortunately you cannot use the bold setting while using programmed start. This was an immediate deal breaker for me. I bought the coffee maker on Friday and returned it to the store on Sunday.

Perfect Coffee

I am very happy with this coffee maker. I like Cuisinart as a brand and this machine did not disappoint. Coffee is great and very hot. Both the carafe side and single pod side work

Outstanding coffee machine!

This is one of the best coffee machines that we have ever used. It makes hot coffee and in addition to that we use the hot water side everyday. I often have a cup of tea or a latte out of one of the pods that the machine will accept. The water is around 200° both for the coffee when freshly brewed and for the water that goes through the pod. That is a very good temperature for getting the best flavor out of your coffee beans. The buttons are easy enough to use and seem to work well. I can see us using this coffee machine for many years to come. I've been using Cuisinart machines for the past 25 years and so far this is my favorite one.

Terrible Product

Coffe grounds constantly overflowing and getting into coffee pot whenever we try to make a full pot (10 cups). The coffee strainer is closed off at the bottom and is a partial "cone" shape so this seems to be a design flaw that causes the grounds to get into the pot. Only keeps the coffe pot warm for a couple of hours after brewing. Not clear instructions on how to simply start brewing a pot versus setting up the timer. Brewing process gets "stuck" and leaves about 2-3 cups of coffee left in the strainer, again, possibly from the strainer design but if not, this creates an overflow mess on the counter. This thing is not worth the $200 that we spent on it and will be returning to Tarhet for a refund.

Very disappointed :-(

I paid twice what I was expecting to spend and bought this Cuisinart because of the brand and the dual coffee maker feature. Right out of the box the k-cup side failed. The flimsy dull plastic needle would not puncture the pods. Coffee and hot water spilled all over the counter. The k-cup holder was defective. Other reviews indicate this is a common problem. I like strong coffee so having a Bold setting is nice. However, you can't use the bold setting on the k-cup side. If you use the programmed brew timer you can't use the Bold setting either. The strength of regular brew is too weak. That's deal-breaker for me. You have to buy special %234 paper filters. The filters have very little capacity and overflow very easily. I don't like the carafe. The top has to be removed to fill and isn't hinged like every coffee maker I've ever owned. The carafe drips down the side if you don't pour very slowly. Cuisinart customer service is closed on weekends. I bought it on Friday and returned it on Sunday. I thought I was buying a top of the line product. I expected more from a brand like Cuisinart.

LOVE it!

I LOVE this coffeemaker ! I bought the white one and although it shows any drops or sprays, it’s worth it because ii’s really looks nice up against my white quartz counters and white cabinets. This one does it all- I have the choice of anywhere from 4 to 12 ounces , I just turn the dial . This is a huge improvement from the earlier model . The buttons and programming capabilities are very user friendly and set up quite nicely , leaving no question. There is a stand for the shorter cups ( minimizing the splashes ) or you can remove the bottom section for a larger thermo mug. The water receptacle is removable, making filling it very very easy. I also love the accessory for using your own coffee in the single serve usage - this works well and has its own filter basket making it very easy to clean out! You will love this coffee “ center” and will love the choices you have when using it!

Dissatisfied Customer- No Longer a customer.

I am a Cusinart fan.. have several appliances over my 30 years of purchases. The reason for my 1 star is because the Keirig part of my coffee pot wasn’t working properly. It smashed the lid and spewed grounds and water everywhere. Called the customer service line, told to cut my cord and send in a picture with my number they rep gave me. Did that, threw the offer pot away and left for vacation for a month. Still no arrival of my coffee pot. Called and was told they never received the picture of my cord. I got a reply email from them immediately saying they got my email. Never heard back otherwise. Now I was told to resend the picture of my cut cord. I deleted. Then I’m told I need to take a picture of my coffee pot. I threw it away. The lady tells me we tell people not to throw their pots away until they receive the shipping confirmation. I was never told that. So now I paid $200- for a coffee pot that now I will not get a replacement because of the errors on their part. I’m 60 years old.. am I gonna lie about a coffee pot? NO! I will never purchase another Cuisinart product for any one in my family.

As it's supposed to be...

I had big expectations with this Cuisinart product, based upon the name, reputation, and my wife's past experience with them. I was quite disappointed when the first one I received wouldn't work like it was supposed to, and I had to return it. I reordered the same exact unit, as it was (providing it worked) exactly what I wanted. It is a very sharp looking and well-made machine. I allowed for a bad one and, this time, wasn't disappointed again. My new unit works extremely well, as designed. I now have a fresh brewed pot of coffee waiting when I get up in the morning. In the meantime, should I want a hot cup, the single serving side is at my disposal. Hot or iced coffee, anytime, wonderful!

Avoid this coffeemaker

My 5th coffee maker in 26 years. I’d rather have a Mr Coffee from Walmart! The Cuisinart coffee center is NOT USER FRIENDLY! If you make one sleepy mistake like forgetting to snap the lid on tight or forget to place the coffee pot back under the drip, it will continue to make coffee and run out everywhere. There are no fail safes in this model. The coffee isn’t hot enough unless you use the H setting, low is worthless. There are always some coffee granules in your cup. Always. I hate this thing so much! The dial on the front is just ridiculous. I’m telling you if you hate techy things, you’ll hate this for sure bc it’s dumb technology, not smart technology. The K-cup side won’t make a cup unless it registers 8oz. Problem is, you pour in the water and it won’t recognize 8oz as 8oz, it won’t say it’s at 8oz until I’ve put SIXTEEN oz in, which is one gross cup of coffee. Total buyers remorse, and I’ve waited a year to decide if I liked it or not.

Great features and functionality

Coffee maker works great and I love that I can choose between just a cup or a pot of coffee. It’s keurig compatible but also has a reusable k-cup insert, so you can use regular coffee grounds for a single cup if you prefer. Both the cup and the pot can be pre-programmed to brew automatically. You can choose for the pot to stay hot for 1-4 hours. I also like that you can remove the pot while it’s still brewing to pour yourself a cup of coffee and it will automatically pause brewing until you place the pot back in position. No mess and no long waiting period!

Excellent Customer Service

We are currently using the replacement coffeemaker that Cuisinart sent to us because the single serve mechanism in our first coffeemaker stopped working after a couple of months. We have purchased several Cuisinart appliances over the years and always been pleased. Unfortunately, we ran into a problem with the coffeemaker. Upon calling Cuisinart, they quickly agreed to send us a replacement upon receiving a photo of the one that was not working. The replacement coffeemaker works perfectly. Not only does the single serve mechanism work, but the brewed coffee is even better than the coffeemaker that was replaced! We are using the same brand of coffee but it has a richer, deeper taste.

Disappointed

Disappointed. Had been using the previous model for 3 years and decided to upgrade to this new model. Mainly use the pod feature. The ounce selection is NOT accurate. The 12 oz selection barely gives you a 10 ounce output. And I tested it using no pod so as not to account for water absorption in the grounds. When you brew a coffee in the 8 or 10 oz feature you barely get a half cup! Also, I use the latte pods which contain powdered flavor instead of grounds. The brew cycle does not fully dissolve the powder. This did NOT happen with the older model. Always got a full cup. Love Cuisinart products but very disappointed with this profuct.

Disappointing To Say the Least

I purchased Cuisinart, because our previous K-cup maker lasted for almost three years with no issues. We thought this time it might be nice to have a multi cup brewer too for weekend coffee. Unfortunately, the brew station was a complete disaster! The water from the reservoir was dumping into the dry coffee grounds and filter. We brewed two pots, and made sure to use only one filter (either paper or the gold filter, not both). In the end, we had a horrible mess to clean out of the coffee maker twice. On the plus side, the K cup maker worked for us. I did see several reviewers stating that the K cup maker would not work for them. Please note, this machine does take up a lot of counter space. If you have a small kitchen with minimal counter space, this isn't for you.
