Excellent Spice & Nut grinder
This is great product to grind spices, nuts and coffee beans. The good part is if you have smaller quantity also, this grinder works perfectly fine. Also, you can easily keep the excess amount in the grinder itself covering by the lid. Appropriate for small families
I love this little spice grinder! I have used it to grind star anise for cookies, cinnamon sticks, my own Garam masala, and it handles everything with easy! The only thing is the cord storage. You have to push the cord into and around the base, so it takes some figuring out. That is the ONLY reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I love spices, Indian cuisine, and grinding my spices fresh. This gadget is exactly what I needed!!!
Efficient and Versatile Grinder for Every Kitchen
I recently purchased the Cuisinart Spice and Nut Grinder, and it has quickly become an essential tool in my kitchen. Here are my thoughts:
Horrible experience
Was very excited on quick delivery. Got everything ready to grind. First run was perfect. And then it stopped working. So upset . I have to put all my dry fruits and spices back in cabinets. Will go back to my old one bought 15 years ago and it’s still working!
I purchased my second
It is a great grinder. I use my first one or my coffee, and my second one for a very light weight spice. The powdered spice/ grounds do tend to leak a little into the cup receptacle. This is somewhat mitigated by putting some plastic wrap over the top of the cup.
High quality spice grinder and beautiful design
I got this grinder after researching and reading reviews on what the best spice grinder on the market is. Initially, i wasn’t keen on buying this one because of the high price, however, other spice grinders were just not standing up to the mark. The machine made my life easier. Grinds spices beautifully. My old blender broke because I tried to grind cinnamon sticks, so, definitely happy with this one. I use it regularly in my kitchen. Good size and love that the container is able to detach, unlike other spice grinders. Makes it easy to wash.Good investment and has a warranty.
It is one of those super machines that does anything you want. Accomplished every task. I had lined up for it to do.
Fantastic machine
I've been using this grinder for about a month now. Purchased this because I was wasting time and my poor wrist grinding down linseeds/flaxseeds with a mortar and pestle. It's incredibly easy to use and clean. I really like the fact that there are only two removable parts - the stainless steel bowl and the press-top lid. The quality of the grind is really good, it only takes approx 8 seconds to grind linseeds into a fine powder (see photo). This grinder has saved me so much time and effort and I can't wait to try some of the other recipes in the manual.
Cuisinart SG-10, a TIME TRAVEL PORTAL 2 the future
I had an old grinder that served me well for decades until the blade lost a tang. I needed a good one so I chose the Cuisinart SG-10 Spice and nut grinder. It is easy yeti use and clean. It does everything I want of it. It’s like a futuristic STAR GATE (SG) to open and explore new worlds of freshly ground spice and nuts.
Good design
I shopped for a basic grinder that didn't take up much space and was easy to clean. I saw a video where this one was used and I liked what I saw, so I did a bit of research on it.
Whilst the product is great in terms of easy accessibility, usage for varied purposes, and cleaning, the quality of the physical product itself is poor. It took numerous emails to attempt to get replacements for the damaged grinding jars and lids, even then the another damaged jar was sent out without a lid. An honest bad review seems to get you the necessary replacements and customer service expected of Cusinart. Cuisinart used to be a "cutting-edge" company, but lately, it seems their quality is on the chopping block!
Read instructions
Read instructions!!! For maximum efficiency some grinding need pulsing on and off to keep the motor from over heating or burning out. In spite of some of the negative reviews this grinder works for me. To switch on - assemble and push down on the top cover - release to shut off. Don't forget to plug it in first, no battery. Most pics don't show the cord, about 2 ft long. My outer lid is a little more clear than the picture shows.
Excellent Spice and Nut Grinder
It certainly is a quality machine for the price. The grinder has been very effective in grinding all that I've given it. Ive ground dried garlic, zucchini wafers, dried tomatoes, dried onions with much success. Having the bowl separate from the machine parts is what makes this grinder very credible. I would recommend this grinder highly.
Disappointing
Very disappointed with this product. Ordered it and was told to return it for a replacement as the product looked used and damaged, however cuisinart claims they do not send out pre-owned products. Having received the replacement, the spice jars were once again, damaged with signs of damage. I was once again told to return the entire product (as if I have the free time or energy to constantly return poorly constructed items). I was then sent out 1 replacement spice jar which is slightly different, however a replacement for the 2nd spice jar is still required. Very disappointed, not the cuisinart quality or customer service I have received previously.
Best grinder for the money
This is my 3rd spice grinder. You can expect 3-5 years service. It’s brilliant if you want a fast grinder. Freshly ground spices like cumin & coriander & cinnamon take your cooking to another level. There really is no comparison. Probably the best grinder on the market under £100 and customer service is always great.
Not a good performer
Overall it’s okay. Cleaning is hassle as you can not remove the bowl. The connection is thinner. There is space between the connection and the cup, so the spice usually leaks into the top of the motor and is difficult to clean up. Also the motor is much less efficient. It starts smoking after only 15 seconds, so I have to keep starting and stopping the motor, and the spice doesn't get ground up evenly.
Built like a tank
Chef here, this is the unit most of my friends and competition use in their kitchens. I first heard of this from an Indian restaurateur friend who uses the larger C.A. burr grinder for most of their kitchen needs but said that for most applications this model is the bomb! This is a tried and tru model that has been successfully ground down all of the other competition. The facts only. Just wish I could use the storage cap while grinding - easier when doing multiple back-to-back batches.
Quality grinder
This is an amazing small yet powerful (200W motor) buddy in my kitchen that helps me with routine crushing and grinding of coffee, nuts, spices, and even making chutney. I am so happy to have this product. I bought this during Black Friday 2022 sale so I have used for only a couple of months. I hope it lasts long. I liked this Cuisinart one better because bowl size is bigger and motor is powerful than other branded companies similar product.
Great unit. Strong but not indestructible.
Does a great job of grinding spices, nuts, coffee, sugar, salt. Never buy castor sugar, just grind up some raw sugar. This is our second Cuisinart Nut and Spice grinder. The base of the cup may break if dropped on the floor but repaired with super glue. Tip - make sure the cup is well connected to the base before grinding. Also don't let the grandchildren use it unsupervised!
Munched right through a cinnamon stick
I have destroyed several coffee grinders I used as spice grinders over the years. Cinnamon sticks did in my last 2. I bought this grinder for a couple reasons: 1) I trust the Cuisinart brand and have several Cuisinart products and 2) the video demo specifically showed grinding cinnamon. So, I broke up a stick and ran it as directed. It still seemed slightly grainy (way better than the coffee grinder) so I ran it through again. The majority of it was a fine powder as what would be expected and there was a pinch left that was like fine sand. As far as I'm concerned, this grinder works and will chew through just about anything. Oh, and it's really easy to disassemble and clean. Totally happy with my purchase.
