Love these

I love the luminescent, iridescent, and duochrome watercolors. They work beautifully to add depth and interest to a painting, and unparalleled for certain insects and birds, as well as water, skin luminosity, all sorts of things can be enhanced by these paints. I have quite a collection of these and love every one. Painting on the Arches black watercolor paper is a dream with these. On top of black ink is also stunning.

Love this essential set, Great for beginner watercolor classes and to start adding to your watercolor. A nice set for the beginner Daniel Smith watercolor a little goes a long way, so there is a learning curve with using professional watercolor. Add Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre and Phthalo Green to complete a nice beginner set that will help elevate your watercolor skills.

Smith's paints make it much easier to create great effects!

I love building layers in my watercolors. I once did Koala bears facing each other that had a significant number of layers to get the semi realism I wanted. If I'd had Smith's luminescent and truly transparent colors it would have been so much easier to get what I wanted. The original painting is now over 40 years old, but a similar one I'm developing is taking much less effort with Smith's paints. If you're looking for the effects promised, try them. You will not be disappointed.

Great paint, vibrant and textured

Daniel Smith has a reputation as one of the besr watercolor paints, and it is well deserved. I've purchased several individual tubes and was gifted one master artist set. I primarily use them making my own pans from tubes for portability, and they re-wet wonderfully. The texture from granulating colors is outstanding.
