Great Plants, Disappointing Delta 60 Filter Build Quality
I recently ordered the Plant Starter Pack and a Delta 60 filter from Buce Plant. I’m very happy with the plants—they arrived in good health, with a nice variety included. However, the Delta 60 filter I received was damaged. The inlet connection is very fragile, and it started leaking immediately after installation. Initially, I thought it was a sealing issue or that I hadn’t latched it properly, but upon closer inspection, I found that the inlet pipe was cracked at the housing. This seems to be a weak point in the design, which I suspect will cause issues for others using this model. Interestingly, the outlet side is better reinforced and has more material supporting the connection, but for the price, I expected a higher level of build quality throughout. I can’t recommend the Delta 60 filter. Note: I haven’t contacted support yet, as I had already attempted to use the filter before realizing the damage.
Great product
I’m got this filter for my 1 gal cube aquarium and it works great. It is supper quiet and has great flow. It’s really easy to set up and comes with everything. Overall a great product.
UNS Delta 30
Bought 2. Opened 1 to use. Straight from day 1, it is noisy and there's a constantly small leak at the bottom of the canister. I reached out to the reps and was able to return the second 1 because it was unused untouched. Also, tubing provided were very short and way too much "not necessary" accessories. I'd rather take a longer tubing than all the accessories because most of us are going for lily pipes any way.
Cleans Easily And Easy To Clean
I’ve had one (with the original UNS parts) for a few months and it keeps the tank plenty clean, and the outlet bar it came with is very appreciated.
Had To Buy More Parts Immediatly
Decent filter and seems to be quality so far but I had to immediately buy more hose and valves. This is my first canister filter so I didn’t know what I didn’t know. The hoses are only long enough to place it directly next to your aquarium. No valves make it a pain to work on as well.
Uns Delta 60
The filter works good but I was planning on using the hang on back configuration but it won’t work with my tank because it has a rim on it. I assume the hang on back feature only works with rimless tanks. I am still using it in the canister style configuration and it seems to be working well. It arrived quickly and Buce Plant was great to work with.
Newer product is loud
I write this as the owner of three other UNS filters. However I think this is definitely the last time I purchase one. They're sleek and good looking. I'm a little bummed to have bought right before they started to come with the clear pipes, especially because the plastic ubend on my 90 started leaking recently, but that's not the reason for my rating.
Not perfect but no regrets.
I have two of these on 7 gallon tanks and both are working perfectly.
Nice little filter
First off the filter looks really nice, just an added bonus though as functionality is more important. As for that, it is working great. There is ample space inside for filter material, I have two sponges from my prior filters inside it, I just took out one of the included media trays to fit it. It is super quiet, and I also bought the quick release valves that UNS makes in order to adjust the flow rate as well as make cleaning the filter easier.
Best canister filter on the market!
Setup was super easy using directions from the setup video. You’re really paying for a quality product. The sleek and modern design looks great next to any tank. 120 runs dead silent too, glad I made the right purchase!
Love these filters.
Love this filter. I upgraded from the next size down to increase flow and capacity. I’ve had some issues with the tubing it came with. It’s a bit too flexible and does not fit tightly onto the fittings resulting in some leaks especially when I disconnect them during maintenance. Replaced the tubing with more rigid hose and it’s running perfectly now. The flow levels are easy to adjust and has done exactly what i needed in my tank.
2nd Delta 120
I love the Delta series canisters. I just added a second onto my 55 gallon spotted congo puffer scape to add even more flow to the tank. The quality is great. My first has been running for a year with zero problems (regular maintenance performed monthly to bi-monthly). Easy to follow setup directions and a small design relative to similarly rated filters from other brands, which was the main reason I purchased the first one.
Simple and useful
Canister filter is minimal in the best way. Keeps it simple but plenty of utility. All connections and removable parts lock together tightly, runs quietly and efficiently. Just the right size for a 10-15 gallon tank with a lower flow rate, but still plenty of filtering capability. I would recommend replacing the media with one of your choice. The inside of the filter is very dusty when it first arrives, due to the media being loosely inside during shipping (this is how mine came anyway). A simple rinse will solve the issue. For a compact filter it is a good one.
Works great, minor leakage noted at connection points
This filter is working great and the adjustability for flow has been very beneficial after the initial setup. I replaced my HOB aqueon filter with this and an in line CO2 atomizer and the water has never been clearer. Atomization is working great and desired CO2 levels reached. Only issue is the connection of the tubing to some fittings and the atomizer, the highest point (connection to tank ‘U’ piping) leaked considerably 1-2 drops per second which would be ultimately unacceptable. After trying multiple piping cuts and attachment through threaded connections I concluded that I could not stop/prevent the leakage. Therefore, I went to Ace hardware and bought proper pipe clamps to secure the tubing firmly. I fully backed off the threaded connection. Following the iterative tightening of clamp locations, all leakage stopped. Setup directions were pretty simple and straightforward through video, there however is no formal direction/instruction videos for maintenance or troubleshooting. Therefore users are on their own to determine their own best method for maintenance approach.
I should have bought it sooner!
Debated on the 120 for a few months as I searched for a filter which would fit next to my stand. Just about every other filter on the market that's equally rated had too large of a footprint for the area it would be in. That's what initially drew me in to thinking about the 120. The small and sleek design does not sacrifice performance whatsoever. Love the quality and minimalist design as well. This filter has a very powerful pump. Specs say max lift is 63" but it performs just fine sitting on the floor next to my DIY tank rack. No issues with return flow at that height. A small shelf will be assembled to allow the filter to sit next to the 55 gal tank it's filtering.
Versatile/customizable
The overall look of the filters is sleek, but the best points for me are the ability to customize. I added a CO2 reactor to the outflow tubing and purchased the flow adjustment devices that are sold separately for the smallest filter size. These filters have three chambers in the media basket with give you leeway to add in or remove the media for your own builds. The only improvement I could see for these filters is to eventually have a built in heating system like other high end canister filters. Overall I am excited to use this filter.
Okay as a HOB, seriously doubt it's use as a canister filter.
The overall power and ability for this unit to be used as a canister filter is overstated. It would probably work fine in "Hang on Back" mode, but as a canister filter it was unable to push and pull water to create any noticable flow at all in my 12 gallon tank. Length of tubing was 30", but the specs state it's good for up to 44" length tubing.
Great filter zero instructions
Disclosure item: I bought this at my local fish store as I had a sick fish and wanted to see if different filter would help. I thought I’d post a review here since I’ve bought my tank, plants and prior filter from Buce. Just thought I’d share my experience with this item. The filter itself does a fantastic job. I like the clear hoses too instead of green or black hoses that come with some other brands. It is getting much better water directional flow for my long tank as I have output and input at opposite ends. Before this, my other filter (Dymax SlimFlo) had dead zones with little to no water movement. It has HOB option which I’m not using but still is nice as an option. It’s louder than my Dymax but probably would be quieter if I had it hidden in a cabinet. The inflow and outflow are great except they hang a little low for my long shallow aquarium. My big gripe is that there were zero instructions included. I’ve always used HOB filters so a canister set up was totally unknown to me. UNS has a lame “tutorial” Video that you can watch that is basically useless. I almost returned this item due to not knowing if I was setting it up correctly. Dozens of internet searches I finally figured out the optimum set up. A simple instruction pamphlet would have saved my frustration.
Great Little Canister Filter
As others have said, this filter is awesome. It's powerful, quiet and small enough to fit anywhere. It comes with hanging accessories to become a HOB filter if you want. I use this is my 12g long and it has plenty of flow (and then some) to cover the entire tank. Don't let the size fool you! It comes with several attachments and a sponge to put in the intake as well. UNS has finally got their setup video on the website, when I first bought mine they hadn't quite gotten it running yet. Out of the box the instructions will tell you to go online so be ready if this is your first canister filter. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking to get your first canister or if you're making the switch.
I Love It! 😍
This filter is worth every single penny! It is the same thing as a Dennerle Scapers flow filter ( which is tested and proven ) but CHEAPER and with a whole extra bio media tray! The flow it puts out is nice and strong and the media baskets and everything inside fit together very well. So no need to worry about bypass because if there is any it is a super, super small amount. They don't mention this in marketing for some reason but it can also be used as a HOB filter! Which is what I'm doing to minimize the amount of clutter in my tank! No glass lily pipes to warp the view from the front. Since it's white it blend into my white frost background so nice! It is also super easy to do maintenance on as a HOB style filter. simple which I love! This filter is no joke for the price. Will definitely buy another!
