I like this product however the edges should be finished in some way. I will be applying tape around the edges to prevent fabrics from catching in the edges.

This is a great board for laying out/cutting fabric, especially when you don't have a lot of space, say, for a cutting table. You can lay it out anywhere and it folds up, and stays folded, efficiently. I use a grid for charting the grain of my fabric, but you could use the board lines too. I'm glad Joann stocks Superboard; it isn't easy to find in-store.

Sturdy, nice size for laying out and cutting pattern pieces, but folds up easily for storage. I lay it on my bed when using it, but it fits behind a door or under a bed when not in use.

[Rewarded Review] Larger than usual board helpful with big projects

I used to have a similar folding cardboard mat for cutting out sewing patterns, but after a couple of decades of use, it was no longer useful. We recently moved into a new house, and I need to make curtains. This board is a little longer than the previous one I owned, and it will be helpful when cutting out the fabric. It is too soon to guess how long it will last, but it seems to be good quality.

This board helps me a lot! I have little space and by laying this board down the fabric stays clean and wrinkle free. While the fabric is laid out, accuracy and precision is achieved while cutting the fabric out.

I should have bought the membership so that my shipping and handling charges would be less. Instead, I paid too much for delivery. Also, I am so happy that Dritz packaged the foldable board with clear plastic/cellophane wrapping. The inclement weather would have damaged the product.

I bought this while traveling to set up when we got back home. We stayed working on the road a lot longer than expected. It seems very sturdy and quality made! It has made it through the kids playing on it, being packed/srtuffed and removed around 8 times and is still in perfect condition! I will update this review once I have put it through the hard stuff and report back!

[Rewarded Review] Besides for sewing, make great play forts for kids

I’ve used these for 50+ years for cutting out fabric and they work great. Also, almost 50 years ago our oldest son was looking for something to throw a blanket over to use when making an inside play fort. He saw my cutting board and saw how well it stood up while standing on end when opened up. He borrowed it, threw a blanket over it, and a new play fort was born. I ended up buying 2 new ones, 1 for each of our sons, gave them markers to decorate however they wanted, and let them create their own spaces. I did cut out a small window in each one so they peek out if they wanted to. The were used for years for play and private time, and then folded up, and stuck in the closet or under their beds when done. Through the years, I have provided others for our grandchildren and other kids. Our youngest granddaughter, an only child, used hers a lot when she wanted quiet, down time while still being close to adults. Sometimes she resisted taking a nap, but would grab a small pillow and her blanket, crawl behind her “play fort” and be sound asleep before you knew it. These are perfect because they are inexpensive, can be decorated, are sturdy enough to support a small blanket on top while opened and standing on end, don’t take up much room, give kids privacy while still being supervised, and are easily folded when done and stored under a bed, in a closet, or behind a couch. After having a daycare for 17 years and 40 nieces and nephews, I highly recommend these. Oh yes, they really are good for sewing also.

This is just cardboard. It's not what I expected. If a cutter was used, it will damage this product. Michaels doesn't provide a lot of description. All the 5 star reviews shown for this product are fabricated, go to Joann's website and you'll find these same reviews. I tried numerous times to communicate with customer service, but they do not want to address the situation nor accept a return because it's an online item. So now I'm stuck with a non-laminated cardboard. I tried to upload an image, but it's not letting me.

It is a big help when laying out patters. The markings on it make measuring smaller pieces easy. And if you don’t mind putting holes in it, it can even serve as an occasional pin cushion! It will last for years as I just replaced my 10+ year old one. Folds easily if you want it out of the way, and has high contrast markings for easy visibility.

It's Just Cardboard

So if you want a mat you can use a craft knife on without much damage...this is not your board. It's just a huge piece of cardboard that has markings and can fold up. I will keep it so I can measure fabric scraps quickly. Just a bummer that for the price it is not all-purpose.

Product excellent, damaged caused by shipping techniques.

I have used a Dritz Kraft Board for many decades with great success. The board I recently ordered was intended for my granddaughter who has taken up sewing. The board came rather crunched at one end, as the shipping container consisted of 2 cartons jerryrigged with tape, which couldn't withstand the shipping rigors. She is using it nonetheless, and is dealing with the misshapen section.

Bought this one to replace the same one I’ve had for too many years to remember. Easy to store the unfold onto a table or bed when needed. I use the grid and bias lines frequently. For cardboard, the regular price seems high, but definitely worth it with a 70% off coupon.

With limited space at home, this cutting board allows me to cut out patterns on top of my bed and stores neatly in the closet when I am done. Also, making changes to the last pattern I used was super easy with the curved lines printed on the board. This purchase replaced the same product which was decades old and very well used. I recommend it for use and convenience.
