This is a dessert dish

I learned the night before the wedding that champagne coupes were needed on the cake table instead of the champagne flutes that I had ready. Of course, these days you cannot just run to the store and pick anything up. There was no time to order. I couldn't believe while browsing the internet, to see these champagne coupes available for pick up. I did read the reviews about the seam in the glass which I have never heard of in a glass. However, I was thinking I would turn the "glass" around so the seam could not be seen. OMG my disappointment couldn't be imagined when I opened the box. This is not a glass at all, IT'S A DESSERT DISH, easily identified by, of course, the seam, the thick rim and the weight. There was no way to even think about putting champagne in this "dish" for an elegant wedding. I would have been embarrassed to even put it on the table and am returning it. I don't care what the box says, this is definitely a dessert dish.

Heavy but nice look

It’s a thicker, heavier glass than I expected. Someone mentioned a seam, I google and it said blown glasses often would see a more pronounced seam. I’ll keep them since someone me mentioned putting shrimp cocktail and desserts🥰

They look great. Like antique glassware but can't do a 5 because up close and using them you can tell they aren't good quality glass

Still Beautiful Glasses After So Many Years..

The glasses are beautiful and have a nice weight to them. One of mine had a flaw in the bottom of the rim. Nothing major but not perfect. I kept them since they are going to be used in friends and we are all ok with things not being perfect. :) I have probably 100 glasses from Godinger and this is the first time I had one that had a flaw.

Broken

Glasses arrived broken. Macys support said they’d send a replacement but it never came.

Pretty and heavyweight, but…

These “crystal” coupe glasses are pretty and heavyweight however you can see a seam. ( if you don’t want one, they’re not for you and you need to pay more!)

Rather too heavy for champagne but a perfect dessert glass. Very pretty and quite substantial.

I wish I had believed the other reviews. Yes, too bulky and thick-rimmed for champagne glasses! To top that, and what irks me the most, they are not made each of a single piece of glass - the joints where the halves are put together are quite visible. In my book, this disqualifies them as a special occasion pieces. I've decided to keep them, but will repurpose them as dessert cups.
