Received this yesterday. We love it! Our fireplace works, but we live in a warm climate and haven't used it much. This insert is perfect. We had guests last night and they thought we had a fire going. Some colder weather is due here and I can't wait to use the heater too. We tried it out, and you can certainly feel it. A win! And we caught it on sale!

The visual effect is amazing! The flames look quite real.

The heat doesn't expand out of the immediate area. In other words, the heat doesn't warm the entire room evenly.

It fit perfectly in my fireplace and puts off such a realistic light! We tried the heat for a short time, just to see how it works and boy does it work! I have a fairly large, open living room and within seconds you could feel the warmth. I can’t wait for it to get colder outside so I can use it for real. It’s been a long time since I sat beside a fire reading a book, but that’s what I’ll be doing all winter. Love it!

These logs are the best! We had a fireplace to put them in and everyone loved them. They look so realistic. We use them all year.

My mom loves it. Perfect for her as she is in her 80s and doesn’t want to deal with logs or even gas anymore. We converted her fireplace and she’s happy warming in front of the fire all winter long.

Looking forward to installing these in an old brick fireplace we uncovered in our renovation. Don't want to use real logs...too messy and brings in bugs. Electric logs are a perfect solution for a little ambiance and warmth in a room.

Fire insert

I love it! I have a fireplace in my living room, and it's just not practical, nor safe to have a life fire in it. The options were to pay a bunch of money to have a fire insert installed or try something different that was a little more affordable. The remote is great. There are a few options, having the heat on or off, the flames, big or small, etc.. It puts out a fair amount of heat and overtime will help warm the room, and I just love the way that it looks.

It worked great for 9 years. Loved it.

I purchased this in December of 2014, so it worked for 9 years and one day it just did not turn on. There was never a burning smell or loud noise or annoying noise in all of the previous years. I loved it. Mostly used it for just the fireplace light ambiance and I rarely used the heater because it was on the same circuit as my heat cables and it would shut off at the breaker. When it just quit, it was like, well what went wrong? It had worked several days before. Could not figure out why it died, did some component or board go bad? Contacting the company did not help. They issued a ticket and said they would call and never did. But it was 9 years old and figured we had definitely gotten our money's worth. So.....took it apart and my husband traced the power with his voltage meter and the problem was probably in the circuit board which didn't seem like a repairable thing. I decided I wasn't done with it and because it has an orange like filter, I just put a nightlight inside and then plugged that in with an extension cord and it just kind of had a glow. You could get an electrician to rewire the spinning thingy and the lights, so it can be plugged into a regular plug independent of the product. As a bonus, the remote control also works with a Lasko fan, so even that didn't go to waste. As for the quality, it is sturdy, and I think it is quite realistic. I have smaller fireplace box and the newer electronic ones are all too big.

Surprised how much I like this! It was easy to setup - cleaning the ash out of fireplace took more time. There are five levels of brightness and the animation in logs can be switched on/off. The rear projection of flames is cool effect. The heater can be remote controlled and while it puts out considerable heat, the fan noise is noticeable. All in all great buy!

Fantastic! My Edwardian home has two fireplaces that would have cost $000s to make serviceable and even then burning or gas is discouraged. The electric flame looks cosy and throws off warmth. An inexpensive and attractive solution!

It’s Worth the Money

I purchased the Duraflame model without heat years ago only to notice the plastic underneath warped today when replacing it. This model is worth the money! It sits higher and has more depth to make it appear more realistic.

I absolutely LOVE this! It looks so real! Even my husband was shocked when he came home from work and saw it “burning” in our unusable fire place. He thinks it’s terrific too! It’s not too heavy and is easy to use and understand the simple, straightforward directions. It does have a sound even when not using the heat function but it isn’t bad.

We bought this to place inside our wood burning fireplace when we didn’t want to hassle with bringing in the wood and the cleanup afterwards. It heats the living room up nicely and it is 15x27. It does have a very pretty glow to it as well with the flame’s flickering.

We like it. We have it in a small area and seems to give off enough heat but I don’t think it would heat up a large area. I don’t think it looks realistic and the black cord doesn’t help but I knew that when I ordered it. I would recommend it if you can get it on sale.

Fit perfectly in the fireplace and looks nice. Was exactly what I needed and provided warmth. Only received it today, not enough time to see the long term effect on the product. But happy with the purchase

I live in an old farmhouse and cannot utilize the six fireplaces I have to build real fires, so these are PERFECT! I get the effect of a "flame" without the danger of the actual fire. And-I can use these at the local community theater where we do plays because the heat mechanism can be turned off but the flames still work. I am VERY satisfied!

I love my Duraflam electric logs. It makes my family room look so inviting and comfortable. The only downside is it does not give out as much heat as t thought it might, but still love it. But it does shut down my electrical in the room when it gets too hot.
