Ecobee was easy to install and set.

Simple, functional, and reasonably priced

An HVAC company installed another popular, less expensive brand at the house we moved from recently, but it was very disappointing in its operation. This one connects easily to WiFi, even with complex passwords. Installation was pretty simple, even with my antiquated furnace. While it was a few more $ than I wanted, I was very happy with the result.

2nd purchase

This is my second ecobee3. I find them very useful and reliable. They are easy to program and are easy to adjust if you need to change the temperatures during the day or night

Do NOT buy ecobee 3 lite

the unit is unable to maintain the wireless connection for more than several hours. I spent hours on the phone with support and they tried to pin it on a weak wireless signal which was ludicrous as none of my other network devices have an issue. Proceed at your own risk.

Easy to program. Like that it has weather ap built in

Works Great in person or remotely

When we are away it’s nice to be able to check the temp, raise or lower it if we plan to be away, or bring it back to comfort levels when we are on our way back. It provides indoor and outdoor temps using local data on temps outside. Humidity is also shown both inside and out. We have had both Nest and Ecobee and find Ecobee to be easier to manage.

The best for business

After trying several brands this one is the best. We have over 50 units monitored via the online business portal.

Great Product

These thermostats work great and make it simple and easy to monitor and adjust the home environment from anywhere. Ecobee has an AP that works on your smartphone or you can monitor the entire house (several ecobees) directly from the Ecobee website once you register the thermostat. We originally installed one in our second home and it kept temperature constant all winter long while monitoring local weather, and indoor humidity. Highly recommend.

Not at all accurate

I was going to replace my Nest thermostat (that I loved until it battery died), and I saw the great ratings on this Ecobee so I decided to try it since it was $100 less than the Nest. Boy am I sorry I did so. It is never accurate and it is hard to adjust the temperature without going up and down several times with your finger to get it just right. Also it is very hard to read the small numbers without my reading glasses. I am going back to the Nest.

Does not work with Lennox iComfort

If you have a Lennox iComfort AC/Furnace you will not be able to purchase any 3rd party thermostat, without some reconfiguring on the board.

Better than google nest

I bought this after having my Google Nest for just under a year. The Nest stopped working properly when I switched to heat and I spent hours over weeks with google support trying to fix the issue with no resolution. Ecobee support was far more knowledgeable and helpful and I had the ecobee set up and running properly within 30 minutes. I’ve had it installed for a month now almost and I have no complaints at all.

Poorly designed

This unit came with my new home. Programming was difficult. It is used to run the furnace and the AC but you cannot set the desired temperature of the AC within 5 degrees or more of the furnace. As a result Im having to manually set the temperatures in the spring and fall constantly. For instance setting the AC to 76 and the furnace to 71 results in an uncomfortable home. Being able to set the AC to 75 and the furnace to 73 would be ideal. Also the lighting of the temperature setting is poor. White numbers on a light blue background is just silly. and the temperature you want to set using the scroll bar doesnt change uniformly then races too far. Terrible..

Excellent for Homeowners and Professionals

I’m not a big smart home guy, but I am a big HVAC guy, which means my primary concern in a thermostat is how it works the system. Sure, these new smart thermostats often wow with bright displays and slick apps, but at the end of the day none of that matters if they’re short cycling the compressor to death. With the EcoBee I’ve been able to have the best of both worlds. The EcoBee features a pleasingly simple display, a very easy to use app, a data rich website for viewing runtime stats and system behavior, but at the same time has options to treat the system as gently as possible. I can’t say the EcoBee is the best, but I can tell you I bought one and proceeded to by another within a week.

Best Thermostat I've had

I love that it has more than the standard 4 schedules so I can have it automatically adjust for peak times. Easy to install compared to the honeywell I returned and would not operate correctly with my 2 stage unit. HW customer service was horrible so I tried the ecobee 3 lite after figuring out it had multiple schedules. I purchased 2 more after the easy install and everything working correctly. I've only had them for a couple of days but so far very happy. FYI... I was using the wink app with a zwave thermostat and after a few times of not adjusting the thermostat during peak times I simply wanted a thermostat that didn't rely on a hub.

Beats the heck out of Nest

The key is in the external temperature sensors - this replaced a Nest in my house, and the weakness of the Nest was that it does not accommodate additional temperature sensors. I put this Ecobee in, connected it to additional sensors, and we immediately felt the difference in comfort throughout the entire house.
