Nice except
I was a little disappointed in this kitchen cart because it's clearly meant to be up against a wall and we were planning on using it as an island. The nails and "back side" of the top are not painted to match. Kind of an eye sore. Then, they forgot to send us part of the screws we need. They call both the screws and the nuts the same thing. So when they said "oh we need 14 of these" they never thought to make sure it was 7 screws and 7 nuts. Other than that, it is great. Sturdy, nice material.
Pretty piece of JUNK!
Terrible putting together w 2 ppl. Bad instructions, missing holes for screws/nails.
This kitchen island isn't worth more than about $30.00 Even at that, I wouldn't want it in my kitchen. The rail sets aren't of the same type, causing the sliding drawer to hang lower on one side. When assembled, the unit wasn't rigid at all. The backside is also unfinished, so it needs to be up against the wall. The top is not made of water resistant material.
What an absolute piece of junk
This product is absolute junk. There are so many things wrong with this product, I do not know where to begin. I will start with the instructions. They are worthless. It is nearly impossible to determine which parts should face up or down or left or right. It becomes a game of trial and error. Further, the instructions suggest that it should take 70 minutes to assemble. I am handy and skilled and it took me two hours. The instructions also state that assembly can be done with a screwdriver. This is absolutely incorrect. You MUST have a cordless drill. On many of the parts that need to be installed with screws, there are no pilot holes. You will need to drill your own or tap a hole with a hole punch and hammer. You will need a cordless drill to install most of the screws. Next, several parts were missing and some were damaged. Fortunately, I have a garage and workbench with many spare parts saved over the years. If I did not, this thing would not be assembled.
The product had a delivery time that spanned a couple of days and it arrived on the first day, which was amazing! I began to take the pieces out of the box and noticed that my hands were covered in black. There was something on all of the pieces that was rubbing off on me and my clothes. The directions were what you would expect but some of the pictures were lacking clarity. I think if they had not been crammed on the pages it might have been a little easier. There were 2 different pieces that the directions said to place them a certain way with a certain amount of screws but there were not enough holes pre-made in the pieces. For the wheels, I went ahead and just drilled the holes in myself because they wouldn't be seen. For the pieces that could possibly be seen, I just used the holes that were already there. Overall, I really like the piece and it is going to work for what I need, I just had a couple little hiccups.
Basic Kitchen Cart - hope you have tiny hands for installing nails.
For the price it’s ok - as in if you started assembling it’s a sunk cost Issues : wrong instructions and somewhat impossible to install - several parts not labeled and when they do appear in the instructions , magically they show later instructions or earlier process. - the insert that others have complained about is due to the nails that are included being to small . Use longer nails and you can struggle through hammering your fingers several times. - wood glue is smeared all over the front and back corners . I know the front is installed right - no quality control here. - luckily I’m only using this as snack storage for the kids , and won’t experience the bubbling others have reported when the top gets wet. - cheap accessories / handles are hollow plastic and the bars are cheap as well - If I could do it again , I would buy something else. Spent three hours assembling with all the terrible Instructions and figuring out how to attach insert bottom to the drawer .
Not sure if it was worth it
I had several issues with this product. I had to return the first one I ordered (slightly different design and ordered this one instead because it was on sale) because the first one came damaged. I noticed a big chip in the corner of the top piece as soon as I opened the box and went no further. I thought it was because of the delivery drivers, because the box was pretty beat up. Upon receiving this one, I realized it was also in part to being poorly packaged as well, because this one has pieces with small scratches as well. But I decided to keep it, because the return was a horrible nightmare as well. Putting the thing together was an adventure as I was missing a few screws, there was some holes that were not pre-drilled, and some of the pictures in the instructions were not very clear, so I had to take things apart and start over. And then coming to the very end, one of the doors was not cut evenly, so I had to put it on at a slight angle so that it doesn’t rub every time it’s opened and closed. And it stinks because it is nice looking, and I’m frustrated by the imperfections, but having done one return already, I don’t want to go through that headache again. While this might not be super expensive, I’m still spending decent money on it, and would’ve expecting something a little better.
Cheap but Flimsy-Target wind again
Item normally priced at $260 approx. on sale for $150. Arrived damaged in multiple places. Challenging directions at times. Very flimsy and cheap. If I paid full price I would have been furious. MDF and the front door panels are super thin almost if not exact thickness of the back panel. Looks nice. Heavy and feels as if it would be sturdy but it really isn’t. I needed it ASAP and item not eligible for return. Only refund. Second time this happened with Target. Same with my daughters crib in a box with dressing table and dresser and they sent me on a witch hunt to seek replacement parts from manufacturer who asked me fir a part number but not one piece was labeled with a sticker and directions were never included in that box and that also arrived damaged. Wouldn’t recommend unless u need something that gets the job done and cheaper. Alternatively, I could’ve purchased two cheap base cabinets and the countertop and would’ve had a more sturdy kitchen cart that was even a little bit bigger. Don’t really need anything bigger than this but for the same price I could’ve had it if I wanted it. Looks like the picture but the gray oak is not the color in the picture and that was what was indicated when purchased. It is actually a light painted gray MDF. Not a grey oak at all. The oak part should be taken out of the name. It does not look like real wood at all as pictured. From far away it it looks very pretty, it serves it’s purpose. But I am very happy I only pay $150 and to be honest I feel that I should be refunded $50 of it because this card is not worth more than $100 quality wise. Shame on Target
