Design vs. Assembly...good luck

Would be a great chair if it came assembled. The problem with putting it together comes when a thick piece of wood has to be bent to a tight curve to meet drilled holes. The wood starts to CRACK. GREAT DESIGN.....NOT!!!!

Arrived with chip in one leg and a blemish on another leg. Caled Home Depot about returning. Since we were not able to return it to our local store, the process seemed very difficult so we just kept it.

Boss Traditional Mohagony Office Chair

This chair fits perfectly in our office. It's a rich looking piece of furniture. It's true to color, love the mahogany color. Assembly is required.

Impressive look! I needed to quickly purchase a sturdy attractive extra chair and this filled the bill. Assembly instructions were mostly in pictures that were hard for me to understand so I just figured things out without them. Result was a very nice-looking, fairly comfortable extra chair for an unbelievably low price. Packing was excellent with no damage, though I was taking a chance after reading some feedback. I’m considering buying a second one for a nice looking pair when extra seating is needed.

Good chairs for what I needed

We needed new chairs because the cushioning in our old chairs no longer had support. These looked almost identical to our old chairs but the support sinks down and provides no support.

Color is much pinker than I anticipated.

I really wanted to love this chair. Who doesn't love ox blood colored leather? BUT unfortunately, the color is very, very pink. Like hot pink. I knew this was faux leather, but hoped that with the color it would look more expensive. Unfortunately, due to the very pink color, this chair looks cheap. I had ordered three and all three were returned. The construction seemed sturdy enough -- though I did not assemble the chair. Once I had one out of the box it was obvious that the color was NOT what I was looking for.

Major Disappointment

I purchased 16 for a poker room two months ago. Within 2 weeks the chairs started wobbling. Within 4 weeks the screws and joints started coming apart. Now the chairs are not even able to be used and Home Depot nor Boss will stand behind the product. My only option is to find another chair from another manufacturer and purchase 16 more chairs.

beautiful chair

I love this chair in spite of difficult assembly. The line up of the top piece needed adjustment with a mallet as the reinforcement comes tightly screwed in. I couldn't loosen the screw even with an electric screwdriver. Once adjusted it aligned perfectly. I bought this as a side chair and am happy with it. I originally thought about buying another but don't want to assemble another one.

Dinged up but still a good deal

I bought these, because I was very happy with similar ones. The boxes arrived beaten up, and as a result, I am getting touch up paint. Assembly was straightforward, and these chairs seem to be very sturdy like the others. Dings aside, they look more substantial than other chairs at their price point

This solid wood construction well-built chair is surprisingly heavy in weight. Fine furniture finishing details add to the perceived value of this beautiful chair. I purchased six (6) of them for the waiting room of my outpatient private practice office. I retired in 2015. However, I shared these chairs with family members whi use them as accent chairs in their living rooms and home offices. This a no-brainer purchase.

Chairs are small in size. I am 5 foot 9 female, athletic and trim. I found the seat hard and the material to look like vinyl not the rich leather look I was striving for. Color is true to picture and wood is very nice. Chair is sturdy but not comfortable, back sits low. I bought for work office across a desk and no one sits in them because they just are not comfortable. Look reasonable and professional across desk but for my body type and size did not work as a comfortable chair. I think for someone of shorter stature these might work nicely, but not for taller individuals.

These chairs look really good as my office chairs. Solid and attractive. Instructions for assembly could be much better. Attaching the upper part was tricky. It appears not to line up but it will. Note: the wider part is the front. Putting letters on the pieces would help.

Good product for the price-- not perfect.

It was fairly easy to assemble. It does have some creaks, though, when you sit in it. (I'm 6'2", 200 lbs.) Looks nice. It's pretty comfortable. I got the one without casters; there are small, black "feet" on the bottom of the legs. They look like rubber, but are hard-- I don't think they are rubber. All in all, I guess it is a good buy at $78.xx. I've seen them priced higher elsewhere, and would think twice about paying much more than what I paid.

good deal

This is a pretty sturdy chair. I bought it for a desk chair. I like the color...kind a burgundy. I wish it was a little taller, I still have to sit on a pillow for it to be high enough for me. Maybe if I had bought the one with the casters, it would have been perfect, but it sits on carpet, and I didn't really need it to roll. I could add casters but that would require a drill and some elbow grease, so I will just sit on a pillow. BTW, there were no instructions to put this together, but it wasn't too hard to figure out.

Poorly pre-assembled

Nice enough chair. Stable. But in pre assembly, metal connectors of the back to the uprights were positioned completely wrong and were very hard to move. It took a rubber mallet, then a long time to work things around so the back could be screwed to the chair. Then it was necessary to jerk parts around to square the chair so it would not rock.

Great Chair with Small Initial Quality Problems

Finish on horizontal wood members had scratches and missing lacquer in spots. The whiteprimer showed on some ends. The shipping boxes were not damaged so the poor qualityoccurred at the factory or the horizontal wood members were not wrapped properly to pre-vent the attached right angle metal braces from damaging the juxtaposed wood memberduring shipping.Considering how popular these chairs are, they must be made in large quantities and hencethe factory must use tools and jigs for the placement of the screw fasteners in the bottom ofthe seats and arm backs. I purchased 16 of the captain`s chairs and found the greatestchallenge was to align the screws into the eight imbedded nuts of each chair.
