UPDATE: It took 10 or so days but Houzz sent me the part and I was able to complete my last chair! The only complaint at this point are the back bolts, but we made-do. . --------------- . Update: it's been a few days and I have yet to hear from Houzz. I am extremely underwhelmed by their customer service. Meanwhile, I have only 3 of the 4 chairs I purchased for $109 each. Not cool Houzz, not cool. . ------------------ . These are sturdy stackable chairs with very visible "ikea" type screws showing. The "back" bolt that screws fasten into keep turning and break the wood inside their hole. I guess that's ok but not ideal. Wood seems nice enough (a bit scraggly in places) but only time will tell. I purchased two x2 chairs. My main gripe is that one of the chairs has the bottom back board placed on backwards, which means the board is too low for the seat (hence chair cannot be assembled and is unusable). The screws you place to fasten the seat section end up colliding with the screws that the manufacturer put into that backward board (I had to unscrew them to get my screws in). I was hoping I could take the manufacturer-fastened screws out and turn the board around, but that board is glued so no can do. Which means I cannot put the chair together. When I opened the package I noticed that chair had the label on a different section than all the others, which made me very suspicious that it was a returned item... I have submitted form to contact Houzz about it. I already assembled the other chair when I started assembling this one, and I really hope they can just send me the back piece on its own else I will be even MORE peeved that they knowingly sent me a defective item.
