I don't know how these chairs get such high reviews. The quality control on these things is absolutely awful. Where do I begin? 1st: No instructions are provided to give you the best mounting results for the backs. When the chair backs came separately I should have known. However this was just the beginning of our problems. 2nd: The hem/ seams for the pockets are terrible. As you will see in the photos we had as many as 12 chairs out of 160 that had poor hemming. Problems included crooked hems, folded and creased hems, and sagging pockets. 3rd: The back plywood quality seemed to be lacking as screws would not hold into at least a half dozen. Additionally, some of the plywood may have been cut incorrectly/unevenly making gaps in the chairs wider for some and smaller for others. 4th: We had 6 chairs that were damaged in shipping (the company replaced them- ok great). But we found at least another 4 other chairs later that were racked or bent. These could only be seen when the chairs were set up and sitting next to each other. 5th: The cross bar on the back of the chairs were done incorrectly. Problems included unlevel mounting and reverse mounting/drilling (we don't know which). Since some of them were either mounted backwards or drilled backwards, the screw were not long enough, getting caught on the burs of the drill holes. 6th: Bolts hold the latching mechanism so that you can put it in or out depending on your needs. In a couple of chairs several bolts were so tight that the screw became stripped when we tried to remove it.

No gold in the vein

Our church bought these chairs about 12 years ago. The old chairs show the gold vein. The new chairs have a vein, but just look black on the legs and metal parts. No gold shows on the metal. The chair seats and backs are a lighter brown. Overall, they match fairly well. Apparently the product has changed some over the years.

I’m a big guy so I needed a good sturdy chair. I am also ver unstable on my feet due to medical issues. I wanted a chair without arms and a generous seating area to serve as a place to safely put on my pants and shoes without risk of falling yet look decent with other furniture and be rather inexpensive. This chair matched all of those requirements.

A lot of chair for the money

I was really impressed with the thickness of the cushions. Very comfortable chairs and they seem to be very sturdy. Also, the shipping was very reasonable. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I did not realize there would be assembly but it wasn't too much trouble. But also, even though I ordered 10 of the same chair; some of them came only with longer screws and some came with a combination of long and short. The directions indicate 2 of the screws go in the lower section of the back, but if you were to use the long screws there they would have poked all the way through. Not really a big deal but a minor packing issue that should be addressed. Otherwise we are very happy with them.

A comfortable, decent chair at a very good price.

Bought eight of these chairs for a church conference room. The chairs came in big boxes with the backs unattached. It probably took me about 90 minutes to unpack and put together the eight chairs. The backs have alignment marks on them to help attach them but there are no pre-drilled holes and it can be hard to hold the alignment without a partner. Suggest two people: one to hold the back to the seat rails and one to install screws with a screw gun.

Great Value - Beats Folding Chairs

I bought 4 of these chairs for extra seating and as an alternative to padded folding chairs for card games. Folding chairs usually don't have a comfortable back and if they are thickly padded they don't fold up too compactly. A stackable chair was the solution I opted for and these are great. Firm padding but comfortable and I love the Broad, smooth, padded back to lean back against. My wife thought the back leaned back too much but I thought it was perfect. I don't like to sit up too straight as you would in a ladderback chair. These came well packaged with each individual leg wrapped. The back has to be positioned on the supports and 4 screws put into it. There is not markings to tell where the screws go in the back, one just positions it carefully and screws them in making sure that you raise it enough off the bottom to bypass the curve in the steel. The color is more yellowish/gold than beige but matches our pale yellow walls in the living room. Looking forward to using these for the long card games and having them to set out when extra company arrives. Great value for a chair that is slightly under 40 bucks a piece including shipping (for 4).

Nice Church Chairs For A Great Price

We are definitely pleased with our purchase of the Hercules 21" extra wide Church Chairs. The only thing better than the chairs was the excellent customer service that was provided. In our search for chairs the shipping cost also played a major role for us and we saved over $300 over the other competitors with shipping. The chairs were easy to assemble and of the 50 we ordered only 3 had blemishes in the fabric or scratches on the frames. That's where Customer service kicked in and had replacements to us within a week. They are thick and comfortable. A great buy and excellent customer service.

This product is economical and looks great. It is sturdy and light. This product is used for seating in our church. It has good padding for seating and back support. They are comfortable and good weight and height.The gold vein finish is attractive also. We are very pleased with them. We have 30 screws missing for five chairs, hopeful I can bye them or have them send. The delivery service was excellent and on time. The colour of the chairs are true to the website picture I phoned and shopped around for a year looking for chairs and this company has offered the best service and price, I would buy more and over again.
